Our Future (Cheok Kong)
This was nothing special in my opinion. The story has supernatural elements that don't get explored enough, and the plot was quite boring to read. The characters were fine, though I have a love-hate relationship with the side couple. There are other stories that handle bdsm much better than what was portrayed here.
The Deepest Confession
Relatively quick read that focuses on unrequited love (but not really). Two people meet again after falling out/going no-contact, and the readers get to see how they navigate their feelings--both good and bad. In the end, they manage to actually communicate and get their happy ending. A lot of alcohol was involved.
December
This story is centred around overcoming one's past, and how to heal while also letting go of any prejudice. The plot seemed so interesting at the beginning, and the build-up between the characters so done in a nice way. The execution, however, was done poorly, and the ending was incredibly rushed. The plot lines don't get their respective ending. They lack detail and further development.
Waterside Night
This story is heartbreaking. There are so many awful things and aspects to this story. The characters are extremely complex, filled with flaws and room for improvement, but everything is beautifully written. The story deals with trauma and the rebuilding of relationships so well. It was heartbreaking, but so worth it.
The Most Ordinary Relationship
Two people who have been together for ten years struggle to navigate their relationship, and to find the love that once brought them together. It shows the good and the bad about dating, and it is done in such a nice way. They have my heart.
Payback
This story has a very good understanding of guilt, atonement and finding purpose in life. The plot was interesting and the overall development of the story was good. I will say that it felt a little rushed towards the end.
Go Out with Me, Too!
This is actually so abdorable. This author is honestly a favourite of mine, and I can't get enough of their stories. the art is beautiful as always and the dynamic between the characters was really wholesome and nice. I want more.
Cherry Blossoms After Winter
This is an adorable and non-toxic story. It feels very coming of age and explores many topics that the majority of people may find relatable, such as coming out, chasing your dreams, standing up for yourself and finding your purpose in life, all the while being in a relationship and making that work as well. I could talk about this forever because the story is just that good.
A Shoulder to Cry On
This story brings an interesting perspective to relationships, and it handles the development of feelings and getting together beautifully. It manages to create complex and flawed characters, while also giving them room for growth in the span of 30 chapters. I wanted more of this and the side story felt like the cherry on top after the initial ending. Would recommend.
