Duke's house is very famous in the Capital while Langtons maybe poor but they have a long history of honor. Cedric's grandfather, the current duke, always adored Langton's late grandma & promised that their families will be united through marriage in the next generation, hence Cedric & a Langton daughter. Dylan is the eldest daughter who has a kawaii male twin Hailey & a sickly younger sister, Emily. Dylan knows she is in a novel. Apparently the ML is Cedric who will marry Emily but after a year, Emily who was supposed to give birth will die together with their unborn child. The duke gramps will also die which is the novel's turning point for Cedric to find the true FL Adeline/Adelain. Cedric also find Dylan's sincerity & silly attempts to be interesting. In the process Emily who was a sucker for romance misunderstands Dylan's attempts to stop the duke from proposing to Emily. She one sidedly translates it as an aggressive showcase of love lol. She overheard their casual playful conversation where Cedric was saying a proposal line to Dylan. Emily showed herself all excited, ran like a deer to the ballroom & told her father with a loud voice about the proposal. Dylan tried to explain the misunderstanding but the father who values honor cannot be convinced with lame excuses. Cedric showed up & used the situation to his advantage & proposed to Dylan in front of everyone in the ballroom. Dylan was thinking of a way to get out of the situation when suddenly the duke appeared and ask dylan if she could give cedric a proper answer. Cedric stood up and proposed for the second time waiting for the lens answer. Dylan had no choice but to accept as she was already cornered. Dylan knowing the future of the novel told Cedric that she will never fall in love with him, so if in a year Cedric finds someone he loves then they can break up. Once already in the capital Dylan seems to change things as everybody turn out liking her & she was able to stand in the social circles. Her relationship with Cedric has also been fun & harmonious. Cedric has been developing feelings for her unawarely. Dylan is also feeling attraction but keeps her feelings in check cos of her belief that FL is Cedric's fated one.
