The younger princess, Rosie, also manipulated Eve that since they were the only 2 princesses left, Eve will eventually be killed by Mikhael saying Mikhael hates her the most & she will be brutally beheaded. Rosie said she will help Eve by giving her poison so that it will be a less painful death for her. As Eve was dying she heard Rosie's true intention & that she was fooled my her. When Mikhael came back to the room to see Eve she was already dead. Mikhael felt despair & looked for all magicians & alchemists who can revive & resurrect Eve. An alchemist/sorcerer came saying that resurrecting her is no more than making her a puppet but they can use the philosopher's stone to reverse time but since it needs royal blood, only Eve will remember everything that happened before time reversal (thus she won't remember Mikhael using all means & the philosopher stone just to revive her since she was already dead by that time). If they use the philosopher's stone, half of it will be consumed. Mikhael didn't care as his position as the king, the empire & the philosopher stone were all for Eve (he loves her & did everything to give it to Eve). They returned back in time & remembered how she was poisoned by her sister. She also remembered Mikhael's words that "if she had only chosen him as her knight" & how he always looked at her with kindness. Eve decided to change from a reclusive girl to one who will inherit the throne & gambled to get Mikhael as her knight. Mikhaelis was known as the monster of the floating prison as even the King failed to suppress him & was thought to be rebelling to take the oath of loyalty. Yet because he is known to be a higher homunculi w/ consciousness, he was not executed. Truth is, he just have an issue w/ his mana circuit. So she used her late mother's hair accessories w/c cointains philosopher stones & successfully imprinted him. Eve knows that later, Mikhael will be able to break the imprints as he will awaken to be the king of homunculi thus she wants to keep a good relationship w/ him to avoid his rebellion.
