The Shinhwa guild will relocate their HQ there and an awakeners educational institution will also be built. - Shinhwa are sponsoring the upgrade and expansion of the restaurant to cater for the influx of workers to the area. - Jung Miho, new restaurant assistant - The unforeseen quest of the bladed panther awarded enough karma points to level up Carnus so he can now make disciple contracts. Leveling With The Gods
Ch 60 as of 03/08/22 - also on Tapas - ML is Kim Yuwon, a college student. - ML and his comrades were defeated by the Outer Gods. - Chronos sends ML back in time to the day before the Tower appears. It’s New Year’s Eve and ML is in Seoul with a backpack and a knife. The world changes at midnight. - ML has to start over as he has lost all of the stats and arcane power he had before returning. - 1st Tutorial: Survive the zombie horde. (30 mins) - Theme: Survival - ML focuses on obtaining points, experience and leveling up. He douses his knife regularly with salt water as he knows the zombies are weak to salt. ML attains an “Unbelievable Achievement” for killing 100 zombies in 10 mins and he receives free stat points. At the end of the 1st tutorial, ML receives over 1400 points for the total number of zombies killed and also extra stat points. - 2nd Tutorial: Enter the Safe Zone. (Limited capacity) - Theme: Competition - Outside of the Safe Zone, giant earthworm monsters suddenly emerge from underground. ML heads to the subway to hunt these monsters. Hongdae Station is designated as a “hidden dungeon” as the earthworm nest is located there. ML continues to gain more stat points and levels up as he hunts. He also collects the mana essence dropped by the earthworms. - After a few hours, the Safe Zone starts to shrink and so does the capacity. People are randomly expelled as the capacity is reached. Groups form based on survival of the fittest. - ML reaches L20 and his Arcane Power stat is unlocked. He allocates his extra stat points to Arcane Power. - ML calls out to the hidden observer, the Administrator’s Lackey. From the Shop, he buys a basic Arcane Sword and the Monkey’s Eyes skill (F-rank, increased vision and fortifies all 5 senses when activated). ML knows the Lackeys have started to surveil him as a “special administrative target.” (Son Ohgong, the Monkey King, Great Sage, Heaven’s Equal) - ML defeats the Motherworm, the boss monster which ends the 2nd tutorial and stops the Safe Zone from shrinking. The Lackey gives 3 reward options to ML. He could skip to the 5th tutorial, he could receive points, or he could be sponsored by Olympus. ML decides to take option 2 and is rewarded 10k points. - ML’s request to meet with the Tutorial Administrator for 1000 points is approved. ML tells the Administrator about the illegal interference from the Tower in the tutorial, in the form of Olympus. The Administrator kills the Lackey and rewards ML with the Master of Mana, an S+ rank skill. - 3rd Tutorial: Kill 50 monsters, acquire 50 essence. (3 days) - Theme: Hunting - Groups of people try to kill eachother to steal essence. - ML saves 2 people in the subway after the monsters attacking them disturb his sleep. In the dungeon, Kang Seongchan and Lim Jooyeon agree to lure monsters to ML for him to kill and he’ll share some essence with them. - ML leaves the subway with a large box full of essence. - He offers to sell the essence for 100 points each. - Lim and Kang declare the essence was collected by hunting monsters, and not by killing anyone. - A group tries to take the essence by force and ML kills them. - After that, the essence is quickly sold out. - Everyone, including Lim and Kang, leaves by a gate. - 4th Tutorial: - Theme: Defence - ML didn’t enter the gate as he meant to fail the goal of the 3rd tutorial and stay behind to face the “annihilation event.” - ML uses his points at the Shop. He buys: Mid-grade personal inventory, Arctic Steel Sword, Pyromancy Robe, Magic Nullification Shield, a well sharpened sword, and ice crystals. - Armed with new items, ML charges through a horde of Skull demons that explode when they die. His shield shatters when he’s attacked by the giant Suruhtra, a lower class fire demon. - ML’s Monkey Eyes synchronise with the demon fire and evolve into Cinder Eyes (A-rank). Along with his robe, his Eyes enable ML to withstand and absorb Suruhta’s Fire of Annihilation. - After consuming the ice crystals to cool his body, ML uses his arcane power and the Arctic Steel Sword to take down Suruhta. - ML has accomplished an “inconceivable achievement” by defeating the annihilation of the 3rd tutorial. - From Suruhta’s corpse, ML retrieves the Giant’s Heart elixir (increases strength and mana to that of a giant). - The Tutorial Administrator appears and rewards ML with 10k points and the Heaven Slaying Star skill (A+ rank, all stats increase based on the opponents killed). ML spends 10k points at the Shop to get a Lesser Scarlet Medicine Ball (an elixir that raises magic and constitution stats by 1). - Elsewhere the 4th tutorial ends in a few hours. ML uses this time to rest, with his wounds and stamina recovering quickly. - 5th and Final Tutorial: United World (30 days) - Theme: Teams / Time - Participants from different worlds gather for the first time. - They’re on an island called Barraganda that’s slowly sinking. Kill the boss at the island’s peak to escape the island. - Hargaan, self proclaimed heir of Olympus, descendant of Zeus. He’s a pure blood, born and raised in the Tower and decided to climb it. His specialty is extreme brute force utilising electricity. - He approaches ML to join his team, but ML refuses. - ML finds a cave where he swallows the Giant’s Heart. For half a day ML endures the agonising pain as his body changes after he consumed the lifeblood of giants and demons. His stats slowly increase over time. Cinder Eyes helps him to cope with the Flames of the Giants from the fight within his body between the blood of human, giant and demon. He obtains Colossal Fire (B- rank) and Gigantification (like Hercules) after his body successfully absorbs the elixir in full. - CP Rankings: every action is converted into Contribution Points (CP). So far Hargaan leads the rankings by a lot. - ML (L57) climbs the rankings to overtake Hargaan and claim the top spot. - Hargaan’s team include: - Lee Sungyoon, outstanding mana control - Yolche, a pure blood from a mercenary family that use magic. - Elador and Paladinte, elf and dark elf mixed-blood siblings from Pantemium (a world where magic and swordsmanship are highly developed). - Ranker: a being who has completed all of the tests of the Tower and cleared all of the floors. They obtain power, glory and immortality. - Hargaan’s team arrive at a dungeon boss room and find ML has already killed the boss monster. He again rejects an offer to join Hargaan’s team. ML says his aim is to break through the ceiling at the top of the Tower. ML and Hargaan agree to bet on who defeats the final boss 1st and has the most CP at the end of the 5th tutorial. If Hargaan wins, ML must join his team. If ML wins, Hargaan must help ML once when called upon. - Barraganda is actually a mythical beast. The boss monster that ML killed was the Parasite Dragon which produced parasites to suck the strength from Barraganda. Time has stopped now that the Parasite Dragon is dead. Time will flow again when the system returns to its original state after the Lackeys or the Administrator intervene. - ML uses the time to grow stronger and level up. A few days later the Lackeys have fixed the problem and time flows again. - Many of the participants have gathered at the mountain to take on the final boss. ML goes first, followed by Hargaan’s team. They fight a large group of monsters. ML combines Colossal Fire with his Arcane Sword. - There is a massive sealed Chimera imprisoned inside a cavern. Whoever breaks the sealing crystal will break the seal and have control of the Chimera. ML breaks the crystal and orders the Chimera to smash through a wall. - There’s a passageway and ML enters until he reaches the room of Childe the Chimera Creator, the true final boss. - Childe the Dark Magician is an ex-ranker and ex-test examiner of the 50th floor of the Tower. He was exiled to the Tutorial for using players as test subjects to create his chimeras. While he lost most of his powers, he’s still a formidable opponent. - Childe animates many chimeras to attack Hargaan’s team. ML fights directly with Childe. ML uses Cinder Eyes and Gigantification to tear apart Childe’s body until he dies. The animated chimeras collapse now that their creator is dead. - ML tells Hargaan to forget about teaming up as where ML plans to go, it’s better for him to walk this path alone for now. He can’t guarantee the safety of anyone with him. - The Administrator appears and gives ML the reward for attaining the “impossible achievement” of defeating the Chimera Creator. It’s a Dark Divine Crystal (unrefined). It’s also known as a fragment of the Invisibility Helm used by Hades. - Odin is the greatest magic fighter that led the giant faction of Asgard. ML beats Odin’s record of a week to complete the 5th tutorial. ML gets 50k points for his new record of 5 days. - ML tops the CP rankings by a huge margin. - ML obtains more points and stats. He also receives a mysterious egg that might be related to the Outer Gods. - All of the participants are teleported to the 1st floor of the Tower. There are many guilds waiting to recruit new players. - Jackals: people who gave up on moving to the next floor. They commit crimes (kidnapping, robbery, murder, slavery) to collect points. They are secretly supported by Olympus under Ares. ML plans to eradicate the Jackals. - Player’s Kit: a basic item that is used by imbuing it with mana. Once you’re registered, your player number and info will pop up on the kit. It can be used to search the internet and communicate with other players. - At the next town, ML registers as a player. - ML commissions Vulcaro the blacksmith to refine the Dark Divine Crystal. Vulcaro uses the leftover crystal powder from the refining process to combine it with mithril to create a sword for ML. The refined, pure crystal becomes a beautiful gemstone. - Sir Agamemnon is a follower of Ares (son of Zeus and Hera) and a member of Olympus. He tries to scout ML to join Olympus under Ares. ML refuses to follow ‘deviant lowlifes.’ - Agamemnon orders the Jackals to kill ML. - Hargaan finds ML and agrees to join ML on a job. ML apprehends the King of the Jackals, Mu Wooncheon. He’s a player from the martial world who gave up climbing the tower. - ML pretends to be from Olympus and gets Wooncheon to gather all of the Jackals (1000+), with the false promise of a higher position in Olympus. ML unleashes Colossal Fire, then ML and Hargaan make sure everyone is killed. ML splits with Hargaan the collection money he received earlier from Wooncheon. - To make up for the eradication of the Jackals, Agamemnon is assigned a mission to “arrest a criminal. He leads an army (of 200+) to face Vulcaro who is actually Hephaestus the Olympus blacksmith and a ranker. Joining the army is Chryses, an Olympus high ranker under Apollo. - Hephaestus is temporarily turned to stone when Chryses uses Aegis, a replica shield with Medusa’s face created by Hephaestus. (The shield can only be used once a day) - ML arrives in time to stop Agamemnon from taking Hephaestus back to Olympus. ML was contacted earlier by Hephaestus to come pick up the refined crystal. - After ML decimates the soldiers, Chryses steps up to fight ML. One of Chryses’ attacks smashes ML through the wall of Hephaestus’ workshop. There ML picks up the crystal to use it’s dark power to fight Chryses. A final attack knocks out both Chryses and ML. The petrification wears off just in time for Hephaestus to save the unconscious ML from Agamemnon. - The 1st Floor Administrator suddenly appears and stops Hephaestus from killing Agamemnon. - ML wakes to find Hephaestus watching over him. Hephaestus realises ML already knew his true identity (ML knew from his past life). Olympus is now after ML for helping Hephaestus escape from them. ML recovers in hospital then hunts monsters to level up. - The new sword is finished and it is bound to ML after he names it, “Edge of Nightfall.” It’s a black sword specialised for the night and the dark. Hephaestus also used mithril to make an invisible glove for the crystal to be attached to. - Dark Divine Crystal: a fragment that holds the darkness of Genesis. It contains mana with an unending dark property. - It’s a catalyst that summons power. - Stealth, Hell Summon, increased dark mana resistance and amplification, and decreased dark mana consumption. - Edge of Nightfall: It can accumulate dark mana. - In darkness, it greatly increases stamina recovery, mana recovery and mana amplification. - Shuri, an elven warrior and the 1st floor test examiner. - Colosseum: 1st floor testing site to measure strength. - ML intends to surpass the most number of rounds completed, which is currently 19. ML reaches with unprecedented speed the 20th and final round. He faces the boss monster: the 8th head of the legendary Japanese dragon, Yamato no Orochi. He perseveres and defeats the dragon by using his Cinder Eyes to identify it's only weak spot then stabbing it in the heart. - ML is now L69, and his stats range from 60 to 79. - ML’s achievement of 20 rounds is recorded at the Colosseum. - This is the first time the top rank has changed in 1000yrs. - The rewards include a fragment of the legendary Japanese sword that sealed Yamato no Orochi, and Orochi’s 8th Heart that contains a powerful elixir once the poison is neutralised. - The egg suddenly reacts in hunger and devours the dragon’s corpse. Then it falls asleep. - ML progresses through the floors. - He sets a new record for completing the 9th floor test, by creating new paths in the labyrinth. - ML visits Hephaestus and picks up a new sword that’s highly resistant to mana. Then ML teleports to the 10th floor. - ML arrives at the martial realm, where players need to join a martial arts school and pass their test to clear this floor. - ML travels to the Heavenly Mountain and meets the Heavenly Demonic Cult. He passes their 1st trial by finding his own path to the Heavenly Demon, Cheon Mujin. Before the 2nd trial, ML is challenged to fight in a skills test by Cheon Jaryong, Black Tempest Squad Vice Leader. ML easily defeats Jaryong. ML is rewarded with a Crimson Blood Medicine Ball. - The 4 Heavenly Lords: Fist Lord (Pung Baeklim), Sword Lord (Shin Muguek), Spear Lord, Dao Lord. - For the 2nd trial in 3mths time, ML must dodge or block 3 techniques from the Fist Lord. ML spends the 1st mth locked in the training chamber as his body absorbs the mana from Orochi’s 8th Heart and increases his arcane power. ML uses medicinal herbs supplied by the sect to neutralise the poison. - For the 2nd mth, ML spends time in the martial arts library of the sect. He researches for a way to deal with the Fist Lord. - For the last month, ML returns to the training chamber. - The Fist Lord spent the last 3 mths training in seclusion. - The day of the 2nd trial arrives and is held at the sect training grounds. ML dodges the first 2 techniques and blocks the 3rd technique. They agree to extend the trial and continue fighting. - ML surprises the Fist Lord with his basic Heavenly Demon’s Spirit skill. ML learnt about this from the library. - The Fist Lord concedes defeat when ML finds an opening and slashes the Fist Lord’s chest. - After a day to rest, ML is summoned by the Heavenly Demon for the 3rd and final trial. He is taken to the Heavenly Demon’s Cave where the Divine Flame is. The cult exists to protect this flame and find it’s owner. ML must enter and endure the Divine Flame until it acknowledges him. He senses the flame is related to the Outer Gods. The flame grows by consuming fear. ML says he’s come to destroy the flame’s kind. ML survives and is accepted by the Divine Flame as it’s owner. - ML passes the last trial. He obtains the nickname “Heavenly Demonic Cult’s Vice Lord.” - His Colossal Fire Skill is replaced by the Divine Flame skill. It’s a fire that grows by consuming the opponent’s emotions. - The Heavenly Demon is now free to leave the mountain but is comfortable staying where he is. While ML won’t join the Heavenly Demonic Cult, he’ll return for the Murim Great War. - At the 11th floor, ML buys adamantium. - With a week before the test starts, ML goes to the 11th floor dungeon called Agrea’s Maze. He clears the dungeon after killing the boss monster, Spider Queen Agrea. He obtains Agrea’s Thread. - The 11th floor test examiner is Hypnos, an Olympus ranker. - The test location is the Dark Forest. The test consists of 2 teams competing to capture as many flags as possible while fighting monsters or eachother. The team with the most flags after 24hrs wins. Each team is randomly assigned a “king.” The number of flags the king holds is counted as double. - Olympus wants to kill ML and have set up an obvious trap. - The team members are supposed to be random, but ML’s team (A) has all of the weak players while the other team (B) consists of the strong, talented and well-known players. - Most of the players in team (A) forfeit before the test starts. - There are 51 players in team (A) and 200 players in team (B). - Halliman, a player who has already failed the 11th floor test 3 times. He’s in ML’s team and is the king. - ML kills the enemy players who attack Halliman. He lets other players go after they give up their flags. ML leaves his Heavenly Demon’s Spirit to protect Halliman. - Namgung Hoon is considered a genius player. He’s skilled in the Emperor’s Sword Form of his noble family. His father is an executive of the Murim guild. - Roel is nicknamed “Angel” for her rare healing skills and divine power. She’s from the Zion guild. - The other team use the Heaven and Earth Net on ML and Halliman. It’s a martial arts technique for an enclosure formation that completely surrounds your enemy. - ML faces Hoon who tells ML to forfeit. When ML refuses, Hoon challenges ML to a 1-on-1 fight. After a while ML activates his Divine Flame. Hoon realises ML was the one who cleared the 11th floor dungeon. Hoon took a party into the dungeon and found the burnt corpse of the boss monster. - Hoon decides to retreat with his men. He doesn’t want to needlessly waste their lives facing ML. Roel buffs the remaining players who attack ML. When they see ML easily shatter Roel’s Sword of Execution skill, they also decide to retreat. ML makes them hand over their flags first. - Roel tries to recruit ML to her guild but he refuses. - ML intends to grow stronger on his own and become the centre that everyone in the Tower rallies around. - Guilds and teams become corrupt through pride, greed and distrust. That’s why ML won’t accept any help from them. - ML calls out to Hypnos who has been secretly observing. - Hypnos assigned himself as the king of the other team. - As they fight, ML injures Hypnos. They stop when the Administrator appears. Hypnos tries to take all the blame for interfering in the test. His position as test examiner is revoked. All of Olympus’ authority on the 11th floor is taken away. - Hoon witnessed what happened with Hypnos and the Administrator. He realises the test was rigged by Olympus. - ML intends to fight Olympus until he drags down Zeus. - ML gives the flags to Halliman to complete the test. - ML is at the top of the CP rankings for the 11th floor, far above Zeus, Hercules and Odin. The Administrator gave 10k extra CP to ML as a reward. - The Namgung family: - The largest group besides the Heavenly Demonic Cult. - The central body that leads the Murim guild. - Namgung Jinwoon, head of the Namgung family. - 19th floor test: hit 100 targets within 1hr. - ML destroys 1000 targets in less than an hour. - He wants to increase his arcane power before continuing to climb up the Tower. - Great Scarlet medicine ball: - An elixir that greatly increases arcane power is made once every 3yrs by the Shaolin Temple in the martial realm. - The Murim Grand Competition is on the 10th floor. It’s a grand martial arts tournament with the Great Scarlet medicine ball as the prize. Many guilds come to scout the competitors. - ML turns away all of the guilds that approach him. - Hargaan visits ML who takes him to meet Hephaestus. - The war between Olympus and the giant race is why Hephaestus stopped making weapons for Olympus. It was devastating to see his weapons being used against his friends, the giants. Olympus is planning another war against the remaining giants and wants Hephaestus to make weapons again. - Hargaan intends to ask Apollo and Artemis about the war. - Hephaestus made a new glove for the crystal using adamantine from ML. He named the glove “Kynee.” - When ML puts on the glove, it wakes up the egg and the hatching of the egg progresses considerably. - ML easily wins his preliminary round of the competition. - The Zhuge clan has ties with Olympus. They set up the final round to be a battle royale instead of 1-on-1 fights. Most of the clans agree to target ML only. Hoon overheard their plan and warns ML to be careful in the main arena. - ML defeats most of the fighters with Hargaan supporting him. - ML and Hargaan are the last ones left and they have an epic fight. ML used the mana resistant sword to hide his arcane power from Hargaan. ML defeats Hargaan with a knock out punch and wins the competition.

Ch 41 as of 03/09/22 - ML was Kim Sung In. The year was 2042. - He died as the last and strongest human against Fafnir. - ML is reborn as Kim Su Hyun, a weak high school student who was bullied. The year is 2022. - ML retains his memories and experiences from his past life. - On the way home, he and his mother are attacked by a pair of mutant wolves. His mother protects him. ML scares off the wolves when he emits a powerful aura of killing intent. - The gate to the Tower of Trials (the Abyss) opens for ML. - It’s the start of his journey as an Awakener, ie those who have special abilities to fight against monsters. - ML chose the highest level of difficulty, L10. He understands the higher the risk, the higher his reward will be. He wants to change the outcome of this life as he only managed up to L8 in his past life. - Dungeons and the Tower of Trials first appeared in 2019. - Since then, the rewards and aether stones that can be obtained from dungeons have become valuable resources. This has significantly impacted the world economy. - The Awakeners are the new rich and powerful class. - Outbreaks: when monsters break free from the dungeons and appear in the real world. - For now, the number of outbreaks is manageable. In 2028, a disaster will occur that will bring about the end of the world. - The Tower of Trials consists of many floors. - Each floor has its own climate, environment and culture. - To go to the next floor, one must pass a trial. - With the help of his past combat experience, ML passed the 1st floor trial. He received increased stats and enough achievement points to instantly take the top spot in the Tower rankings. - On the 2nd floor, ML buys skills and items with his points. - Bellie, a dark elf and skill merchant. - Leap skill: the height and number of leaps depends on one’s mastery of this skill. - Transformation skill: a rare growth-type skill. The presence of the serpent keeps the other weaker monsters away. - ML pretends to be drugged and is given as the next sacrifice to the serpent. Later the mayor visits the nest to find ML has killed the serpent. ML knows this monster won’t attack the one who feeds it which is why the mayor could approach it. - ML presents the serpent’s head to the villagers and explains what the mayor had done. He proposes the villagers take the serpent’s eggs and raise the baby serpents by feeding other monsters to them. These serpents won’t attack the villagers while keeping other monsters away. - The villagers agree to learn how to fight from ML after the child he saved is the first to volunteer. The villagers gradually regain their confidence under ML’s guidance. Suddenly a divine blue phoenix appears. The mayor released it after keeping it drugged and he’s the first one to die by it’s blue flames. - ML stops the phoenix from attacking the village and kills it. He uses the crystal pendant to recover when he’s consumed by the blue flames. ML successfully completes his mission and passes the trial, still ranked in 1st position. They part ways. - Jinwu Cha is Seoha’s younger brother and a 2nd yr high school student. Seoha asks ML for help with Jinwu who has been coming home with bruises but won’t say why. He’s been avoiding Seoha for over a year. Jinwu is a victim of school bullying. He’s a gopher and a literal punching bag. - ML infiltrates Jinwu's school in disguise and wearing a mask. Jinwu is knocked out by one of the bullies and wakes up in the nurse’s room. ML is there and he secretly has Seoha listening on his mobile. ML smashes the face of the lead bully until he agrees to behave from now on. ML leaves the room and the lead bully starts harassing Jinwu. ML returns right away and breaks the bully’s finger. - The next day Seoha makes a surprise visit to Jinwu’s school and pulls him out of class. Seoha says to the girls who bullied Jinwu that her lawyers will be in touch for the videos posted online. - Lewin Bailey of the Bailey Group in the US. - He’s visiting South Korea to strengthen ties with SW Corp. He asks Mr Cha to join him again but Mr Cha politely declines. The next night, Mr Cha’s club is attacked. Mr Cha was the target but he wasn’t there at the time. - Hyeongseok is Mr Cha’s RH man. Some of Mr Cha’s men are in a car accident. Hyeongseok was one of them and has gone missing. - Gilsu calls Mr Cha and confirms he has Hyeongseok. Other corrupt politicians hired Gilsu to get rid of Mr Cha for betraying Inbae Kim. They want to make an example of Mr Cha so other gangs won’t consider betraying them. - ML was with Mr Cha when Hyeongseok was reported missing. ML was delivering some food made by Dayeon as thanks for always helping and looking out for their grandpa at his security job. - Seokju helps ML find Hyeongseok at an empty warehouse. More Iron members face ML as the SW security team (3) surround Yeona. - Jiye arrives with team (2) as extra support. - The Chairman calls Yeona and asks what she wants. She says she wants to stay and find something she wants to do. She’s not interested in business management. He gives the ok and calls Yeongho next. He tells Yeongho to stop making decisions about Yeona’s life. The Chairman will be helping her with that. - Yeongho contacts Iron HQ to hire assassins from the mercenary camp to kill Jiye. Mercenary 005 is the sniper assigned to shoot Jiye but she hides when she recognises ML as 001. Later she tries to stab ML in the street but he stops her. - “Numbers”: a special experimental unit run by Iron. - The unit was initially comprised of 40 members who survived years of hellish training and deadly real-life battles. Due to their leaders betraying them, many members were killed (ML was framed for their deaths). The remaining members are now sent on individual missions. - Mad Dog, the mercenary camp leader. - He lost an eye when he fought ML who was trying to protect one of the Numbers. - The real name for 005 is Maya. - A group of masked men attack 005 where she’s staying. ML was watching nearby and helps to get rid of her attackers. - 005 tells ML that the target is Jiye. ML tells the Chairman and security is increased for all high profile SW people. 005 tells Mad Dog about the surprise attack and says the mission to kill Jiye has been compromised. - 005, 006 and 032 work with ML to bring down Yeongho. He meets up with them overseas and they gather evidence to show the Chairman who gets ML to bring Yeongho back to South Korea to take responsibility for his actions. - Seungho Sin, father of Yeongho and Jiye. - Secretary Choi, Seungho’s closest aide - Seungho targets Jiye next now that Yeongho is no longer a threat. He orders Jiye to annul her engagement to Major Kang. She refuses at first but decides to see Major Kang and break the engagement to protect him from Seungho. - Under Jiye’s orders, ML watches over Major Kang. ML prevents him from being drugged and framed for a crime. This was organised by Secretary Choi. ML obtains evidence for Jiye after he takes out Choi and the gang he was working with. Seungho heads back overseas and Jiye reconciles with Major Kang (?) - Inbae Kim arranges for Gisu Kim and Huijin Kim to study in the US. Before they leave, he wants to take revenge on ML. - Inbae Kim and his family are staying in his hometown villa. Inbae calls ML to taunt him then gets the local gang to target ML and his family. After ML gets the student to admit who put him up to it, ML shows Junhyeong the news about Kwangpil being indicted on charges of bribery and a sex scandal. - His lackeys at school turn on him and he becomes the target of bullying. ML reminds Gwonhyeok that he was saved by Hyeongju, even though his life was hell because of the ranking system Gwonhyeok put in place. - At school, Gwonhyeok stops the other students from beating up Hyeongju. 10yrs later Gwonhyeok and Hyeongju end up working at the same auto company. - Soyeon High School for Girls - Sunyoung Jung, homeroom teacher for class 2-4. - Yeri Han, 2nd year student who turned psycho after an incident with a teacher 2yrs ago. She’s a monster that can’t be fixed. - Sohyeong Kim, 2nd year, Yeri’s friend since middle school. - Yeongsoo Go, the history teacher. He caught Yeri smoking. Later he killed himself after he was falsely accused and dismissed for hitting Yeri. - Hanrim is introduced as the new student teacher. When Hanrim is fearless against the students’ taunts, Yeri’s lackeys present a cake but Hanrim kicks it away to land on Yeri’s head. The cake was full of razor blades. Later Yeri badly bruises Sohyeong’s face and they falsely accuse Hanrim of hitting Sohyeong. When Sohyeong’s mother slaps Hanrim, she slaps the mother back really hard. - Hanrim’s initial strategy is to divide and conquer. She isolates Yeri by punishing the whole class or year if she misbehaves. The whole school turns against Yeri, blaming her for the strict measures introduced since the TRPA arrived. - Hanrim moved next door to Sunyoung to protect her. - Yeri pretends to ask for Sunyoung’s help but she betrays Sunyoung’s kindness and breaks into her home. With 2 of her friends, they use razorcutters to threaten Sunyoung who they think reported them to the TRPA. Yeri almost stabs Sunyoung but is stopped by Sohyeong who is slashed instead. Yeri escapes over the balcony and Hanrim gives chase. - Sunyoung finds out from Sohyeong about the incident 2yrs ago that changed Yeri. Sunyoung later tells Hanrim about it. - Yeri tries to get help from police in the street. Instead Sunyoung files a report at the station about everything Yeri’s done. Sohyeong also provides evidence. - Yeri is now in juvenile detention awaiting trial for the wrongful death of Mr Go. Hanrim visits Yeri and says all of the many tipoffs to the TRPA were from Soyeon High School students who wanted justice for Mr Go. Sunyoung didn’t report once. - CM High School - Sangyeol Cheon, a corrupt and evil teacher. He torments smart students from rough backgrounds to manipulate in-school rankings. He’s divorced with an 8yo daughter he cherishes. - Hyun-Woong Choi, a poor student. A hard working and intelligent boy who lost his parents. His grandpa cares for him and makes money as a garbage collector. - ML observes everyone at school. He singles out those teachers that require more guidance. The teachers are made to wear school uniforms and become one of the students. - Sangyeol gets another student Gwansik Kim to extend the harassment of Hyun-Woong to his grandpa. ML saves the grandpa and beats up Gwansik and his friends. He finds out from Gwansik that he was offered the test results from Sangyeol. - ML gives a special midterm exam to the teachers that include asking for forgiveness from the students that they’ve wronged. If they fail the exam, they’ll be dismissed from their job. They have a week to complete the exam. - Sangyeol tries to cheat and uses violence to force Hyun-Woong to sign his exam paper to prove Sangyeol asked for forgiveness. ML saves Hyun-Woong and brings out Yeri in handcuffs who beats up Sangyeol. ML stops her from killing him. - Yeri’s parents divorced when she was a small child. Her father raised her but they were like strangers as he was hardly home due to work that kept him out of town. She was a bright girl who ranked high in the school rankings. She had plans to pass the entrance exam for an international high school. - Yeri saw Sangyeol accept bribes from students that ranked lower than her. She realised all of the harassment she’d endured from Sangyeol was for student rankings. She developed an extreme hatred of teachers as a result. - ML suggested to Yeri that if she wanted a fresh start, to try asking the Go family for forgiveness. She wrote apology letters everyday for 3mths. She finally received a reply from Mr Go’s widow who said if Yeri lived a good and honest life from now on, that alone would be genuine atonement for Mr Go. - Sangyeol is arrested for corruption. For the last 10yrs, he’s accepted bribes from parents to manipulate the grades of their children. He deliberately sabotaged students from rough backgrounds to lower their test scores. He leaked exams and gave unfair assessments. - The Juvenile Act: - Those under 14yo will not receive a criminal penalty, no matter what they do. They will not receive a criminal record, even if they commit murder. - Hyeonjin Middle School - Jiwoong Min 13yo. He killed someone by accident when he was in the 3rd grade. He became addicted to crime after that. - Hyeoncheol, Duyong, and Miyang are also underage criminals. - They’re all locked up in juvenile detention for 2wks. The sisters are the youngest national representatives in womens’ basketball. - Eunha Park is a promising basketball player. After refusing to do Jayeon’s bidding, she is bullied by the sisters who get the whole school to constantly harass her. She’s excluded from training and playing with the team but she secretly practises at dawn every day. - Hanrim arrives as the temp coach. The sisters and their lackeys try to intimidate Hanrim but they get beaten up instead. - The sisters post on social media a fake photo of Sooyeon’s bruised face and accuse Hanrim of school violence. - Hanrim releases texts and photos from Jayeon to the media that prove she is actually the perpetrator of violence at the school. More witnesses come forward to support this. - Sooyeon makes Jayeon post an apology video and accept all of the blame. It is divisive and polarising. - She is a member of a group of like-minded teachers. They have a secret website about their “teaching philosophy” and communicate via the chat room. - ML and Hanrim sit in on Sanghee’s class. Gender discrimination in fairy tales, fashion, sports, occupations, and even the naming of the bathrooms between the sexes is addressed. - Any student who dissents or disagrees with Sanghee is singled out for punishment and harassment. Sanghee’s self righteous actions and words are hypocritical and contradictory. - ML points out the difference between teaching values vs enforcing fascism. While Sanghee’s values on gender equality are correct, her biased methods of teaching are not. - Gender equality by victimised student Somi Shin vs biased student Nayoung Seo ignites a shouting match of insults across the class. - The students are polarised into extreme opposites. - Sanghee is impressed when Somi presents her full definition of gender equality. She tries to share this with her group but she’s expelled from the group instead. She realises the group had brainwashed her as well. - Public education is about pursuing values that are neutral and right without any matters that incite conflict. - Sanghee’s resignation letter is rejected and she is suspended for 3mths instead. This is because she sincerely regrets her wrongdoings and cooperated fully with the investigation. - Minseo Go 6yo, child abuse victim. - His preschool teacher reported the abuse to Child Protection Services but all they did was talk to his parents. The police and the Health and Welfare Ministry handle cases of child abuse and domestic violence, not the Education Ministry. - Minseo’s trash father, Dongcheol Go is unemployed. - Minseo’s parents were high school students in the country who were kicked out of home when they had Minseo. - ML moves in next door to keep an eye on Dongcheol. - ML stops and corrects Dongcheol whenever he’s violent and taking his anger out on Minseo. ML makes Dongcheol spend quality time with Minseo, like playing catch, shopping and eating out. ML introduces Dongcheol to a construction job through ML’s special forces contacts. - Lt Jincheon Lee, special forces reserve and CEO of Special Forces Interior Contractors. All of the staff are ex-special forces. - Minseo’s mother, Won Seoyeon returns home. She was badly abused by her father. She became the violent abuser of her son. - ML finds Minseo passed out from waterboarding and he stops Dongcheol from beating up Seoyeon. Dongcheol reveals Seoyeon tortured and abused Minseo and he later tells everything to police. - Minseo’s parents are charged with child abuse. After they’re released from prison, they must stay away from Minseo. - Minseo lives at an orphanage. Dongcheol wants to rehabilitate himself and earn the right to take care of Minseo again. - School violence committees are no longer run by schools and have been reformed to include lawyers and experts under the Education Ministry. The goal of the youth justice system is rehabilitation and not punishment. - Gangyeong High School - Victim Sangwook Lee tried to kill himself by cutting his wrists. - He had reported his bullies to the school violence committee but the outcome was minimal punishment for the bullies. - Seonghak Hong leads a gang of bullies who terrorise weaker students. Seonghak’s lackeys are Wonhong Kim, Taesu Mun, and Sanggil Han. - The bullies are given a special education after school by Hanrim as the new counselor. She makes them experience what they put their victims through. Their parents are invited and given a list of what they did to their victims. One father beats them up with a pipe. - At the appeal for a reevaluation, ML argues that it must be clear whether the cause of a bully’s crimes is due to their environment or for personal pleasure. His violent past will continue to haunt him unless he shows true remorse and self-reflection. - Junbin Lee, a youth rights lawyer (asshole) who is anti-TRPA. - He was at the first committee hearing and recommended the minimal punishment because the bullies showed remorse. He argued that the extreme methods of the TRPA left the bullies with no alternative but to reoffend. - Junbin thinks students are too young and immature to take full responsibility for their actions. Society has a duty to give them a chance to rehabilitate, especially those from low socio-economic backgrounds. - Yujeong Oh 19yo, juvenile detention inmate, 3yrs for manslaughter. She has a fear of men because of her abusive father. After running away from home, she killed a “helper” who sexually harassed her and held her captive. - Her 16yo younger sister Yunjeong has now also run away from home and her last letter mentions a helper. - There are “helpers” that provide illegal assistance to teenage runaways who are all escaping terrible conditions at home. - They can’t be accepted at youth shelters or go to the police or get a job because their parents’ will be contacted. They need a guardian’s consent to do anything. The helpers make the runaways commit crimes and do underage sex work. - Yeri is released temporarily and goes undercover as a teenage runaway to lure out the helpers. - Yunjeong is with Hyangmi Yeo, a female helper who manages several rooms full of runaways. Hyangmi was once a teenage runaway herself. Seolyeong Park is a runaway who became Hyangmi’s lackey. Hyangmi has no savings and needs the runaways to pay her debts. - Hanrim and ML set up a helper group under the TRPA. - Yunjeong and most of the runaways leave Hyangmi and go to the TRPA. Hyangmi threatens to contact the parents of the runaways and they go back to her. Yunjeong thinks prison is a better option and chases Hyangmi with a knife. Hanrim and Yeri stop Yunjeong while Hyangmi sends a text to notify the parents. - The parents turn up at the TRPA and demand to see their kids. - ML handcuffs them all and gives them a youth shelter consent form to sign. ML plays the recorded testimonies of the runaways about their experiences of domestic abuse. The parents accuse the kids of lying and being rebellious delinquents. - Yunjeong arrives and calls out her dad for the piece of shit he is. When he tries to attack her, Hyangmi knocks him out because he reminded her of her own dad. She tells everyone that most helpers used to be runaways. Their kids prefer to be with helpers who exploit them rather than with their parents. - The forms get signed and the police take away Yunjeong’s father and Hyangmi. - All children’s problems are judged from an adult’s perspective. The laws created by adults silence the voices of children, then don’t take responsibility for the problems caused. - This country hardly respects children’s rights to self-determine. Children are just thought of as minors. - A runaway boy taken in by the TRPA mentions he came from a place where the villagers were trying to kill him. - The boy Kyujeong and his parents moved from Seoul to a country village on a small island. Manchun Koo the village head tried to extort a large amount of money under the guise of a village development fund. When Kyujeong’s parents refused, the whole village bullied and harassed them. - Hyeseung Son 28yo was a teacher from Seoul and the only one who helped Kyujeong when he was bullied at school. - She was also being bullied and harassed by the villagers. - Kyujeong took photos of Manchun pulling Hyeseung by her hair and threatening her. He ran away from the villagers chasing him. - The Senior Village President is a National Assembly member. - The village policeman is Manchun’s nephew. - The village and it’s villagers think they’re above the law. - Hanrim is undercover as the new teacher at the village school. - ML pretends to be her brother taking a break. Hyeseung went missing when Kyujeong ran away. - Whale / Kim Suncheol 32yo is an intellectually impaired man who is incredibly strong. He is treated as the village idiot and is often beaten and tied up. He helped hide Hyeseung from Manchun. - Suncheol was reported missing 15yrs ago. His father was sick and died a year after Suncheol went missing. - Manchun lied to Suncheol so he could use him as free slave labour. Manchun said he was sending Suncheol’s wages to pay the medical fees for his father. - Over 30 villagers surround the house where Hanrim and ML are staying. Before they attack, Hanrim and ML escape and lead them into the mountains nearby. Hanrim and ML knock out all of the villagers except for Suncheol who said he knew where Hyeseung is. - Manchun found Hyeseung first. She was writing a journal about all of the harassment she suffered in the village. Suncheol stops Manchun from throwing Hyeseung into the ocean from the pier. - Police from the mainland arrest Manchun and the other village leaders. The charges include bribery, extortion, and attempted murder. More people are found in the village who were being exploited and held captive. Suncheol decides to return to the village to protect any outsiders and try to get the villagers change. - Hyunjung Elementary School - Choi Jisun is a wonderful teacher with 14yrs experience. - She’s falsely accused of being a terrible teacher by the mother of Woojin Lee who reports her to the TRPA. Mrs Lee wants to ruin Jisun’s teaching career. - Mrs Lee blames Jisun for losing her son’s case at the school violence committee hearing. Her son and another student had a minor fight over a video game. Mrs Lee insisted on escalating it to the committee instead of agreeing to get the boys to apologise to each other at the time. - Teachers had to provide their personal contact number to parents and had to answer calls from parents after school hours. This is an example of parents indiscriminately violating teachers’ rights. - Teachers have the right to rest, so a work number for teachers is (re-)introduced. Urgent cases will be relayed to the teacher directly. - Hanrim went undercover as a temporary teacher while Jisun went on leave. After investigating, Hanrim and ML find Jisun is not guilty of the accusations. Instead Jisun is a victim of malicious lies, false complaints and defamation. - Mrs Lee makes Woojin misbehave in class and be rude to Jisun to provoke an angry response that Mrs Lee can use as evidence against Jisun. The other students defend Jisun and punch Woojin. Later the students use their mother’s online accounts in the parents’ chat group to share their version and expose the lies told by Mrs Lee. - The backlash against Mrs Lee is immediate and intense. - Woojin is bullied and beaten up by some of the students. Mrs Lee receives constant abuse from parents and neighbours. Mr Lee is considering divorce. - ML had threatened Mrs Lee with criminal charges if she didn’t apologise to Jisun, the students and the parents. She retaliates and points out the mothers that also made false complaints about Jisun. - Woojin asks ML to take away his mother and make her human. - As ML and Hanrim take Mrs Lee outside, Jisun follows them and begs for Mrs Lee not to be charged for the sake of Woojin and his family. They let Mrs Lee go. - Students are becoming addicted to a gambling app. They go into debt and have to steal or commit other crimes to pay off the interest. - Junghyuk Lee 19yo, GY branch manager (illegal gambling distributor). The GY gang operate the gambling app. - Junghyuk was a talented baseball player but he never got a chance to play a game because his parents couldn’t afford to bribe the coach. He hits the coach with a baseball bat. - Gwonhyeok Jang is badly beaten up when he tries to save his friend Hongki Jo who is in debt to GY because of the app. - Hongki Jo sold what he could then stole from his parents’ bank account. GY came to beat up Hongki for not meeting the payment deadline. Junghyuk tells Hongki to stab and kill the TRPA for his debt to be erased. - Junghyuk pretends to be a victim of the gambling app and meets with Hanrim and ML. Hongki tries to stab ML but fails to do so. - Hanrim and ML chase after Junghyuk who leads them to a large group of gang members armed with knives. Hanrim uses 2 knives to take care of the group while ML pursues Junghyuk. - ML realises GY stands for Gayoon who died. Her efforts to reform bad students ended up killing her. Now her death and ideals are being mocked by the use of her name for a gang. - Her killer Gyucheol Cho is the one who defeated all of the gangs in the area and established the GY gang. He just finished getting a tattoo of her portrait that covers his back. - In his fury, ML almost beats Junghyuk to death. ML is stopped by Gwonhyeok who discharged himself early from hospital to help. - Later ML hands his resignation to Gangseok who tears it up. - ML was concerned about tarnishing the TRPA if he ended up killing someone involved with the GY gang. If that happens, Gangseok promises to do all he can to make sure ML avoids punishment. ML must remain with the TRPA for it to go on. - Pastor Kim thinks he’s the Son of God. - Juhee Lee: 3yrs ago her brainwashed parents moved the family to the House of the Holy Father cult (with a 7-pointed star symbol). They sold everything except their clothes and gave it all to the cult. - The cult believes that devils have infiltrated everything and rule the outside world. The members can never go outside or else they could be possessed by a devil. - Seoyul Jung 9yo: her mother was locked up and tortured for wanting Seoyul to go to a proper school. - Juhee’s younger brother, Juhyuk 10yo has never been to a proper school. The alternative school at the cult exploits the children as slave labour at a farm. They are constantly abused and overworked. - Juhyuk is used as a hostage to ensure Juhee conforms. She is molested every night by Pastor Kim. - For the 1st time, Juhee is finally allowed to do missionary work outside for the cult. She hands out flyers while preaching with an adult cult member who is monitoring her. - Hanrim receives a flyer from Juhee and is alarmed that Juhee isn’t in school on a weekday. Later Hanrim visits the cult to investigate. - Pastor Kim takes Hanrim to the alternative school. Everything looks happy and carefree. The children were forced to memorise a fake act to fool outsiders like Hanrim and the police. - Before Hanrim leaves, Juhee tells her the truth about the fake act and the child abuse in the cult. Pastor Kim and the adult members attack Hanrim but she defeats them all. Then the brainwashed children turn on Hanrim and Juhee who get tied up. - Pastor Kim wants FL to sign a letter resigning from the TRPA and the special forces then join the cult. She pretends to sign it after the cult members beat up Juhee to exorcise the devil from her. - Hanrim uses the pen to hold Pastor Kim hostage while Juhee gets medical treatment. Then Hanrim beats up the adults and Pastor Kim. She also destroys the weapons held by the children. - ML arrives and says the adults used the cult as a refuge away from their problems in the outside world. - Juhee and the other children are isolated from their parents to help them overcome their brainwashing. - There is a trial for Pastor Kim … - Ever since he was released from prison, Dongcheol Go has been working full time for Jincheon Lee.

He’s in love with Sihyun. - Park Hajun, professor at Wugang University. - He’s never had a serious relationship but has had plenty of sex. He tried having sex with men but couldn’t stay hard. He goes all the way with a man for the first time with Sihyun. - Yeon Yunjae, professor at Wugang University. He’s been close friends with Hajun since high school. Hajun is secretly in love with Yunjae (tbc). - Park Cheolho, a university professor. Hajun’s father. - Mission: to find the blueprints for a new weapon. - Cheolho is meant to have the blueprints but has gone missing. Sihyun is to get close to Hajun to see if he was given the blueprints by his father. - Hajun often had people approaching him to get close to his father and his father’s research. He initially thought Sihyun was trying a novel approach to get close to him for the same reasons. - Hajun’s mother was always anxious and insecure because his father was often away. Cheolho secretly worked on outside research contracts to develop foreign weapons. - She arranged an engagement for Hajun with the daughter of a head doctor who owned a hospital. Hajun broke off the engagement. He knew his mother was just trying to recreate the perfect family through him. - Sihyun used to live in the same neighbourhood as Hajun when they were children. Sihyun’s name was Yunjae. Just before Sihyun was moving overseas with his mother, Sihyun looked for Hajun to return his jacket. Hajun saved Sihyun from a truck that was reversing but Hajun’s leg was badly injured by the steel that fell from the truck. Hajun couldn’t remember Sihyun’s face when he recovered. Hajun thought Yeon Yunjae was Sihyun. - Uno gets Shadow to send a fake code to Sihyun that the mission’s cancelled and to return to HQ. Sihyun was planning to leave after saying a final farewell to Hajun. Sihyun saves Hajun from sniper fire (shot by Uno). While Hajun is asleep in hospital, Sihyun stops Uno from killing Hajun. - Sihyun finds out from Uno that Hajun was just being used as bait to lure his father out from hiding and hand over the blueprints. When Hajun was no longer useful, Sihyun was to receive orders to kill Hajun.
