After seeing how happy Kang is, Lee changes his mind and returns to Seoul on his own. - Before he left, Lee got Kang a cheap mobile. - Choi had once told Jin that “You can never break free from me.” - Choi is extremely possessive of unique and beautiful things. - While going shopping together, Jin is faced with a drunk woman who loudly accuses him of being the rumoured local whore that all of the men are crazy about. She’s the wife of a scumbag client that Kang beat up before. Kang stops the woman from hitting Jin, but Jin runs off. Kang finds Jin at the seaside. - Jin has a fever and faints. Kang takes Jin to a motel nearby. - Jin is scared that Kang will abandon him, after overhearing Kang say to Lee that he’d return to Seoul soon. - Jin tells Kang, “I can’t live without you.” - In the past, Eunwoo had said he didn’t need Kang and wanted Kang to disappear. - Kang reassures Jin and says he’s just going back to Seoul for a short visit to resolve a small matter and will return to Jin. - Kang and Jin have intense sex. Kang tells Jin how adorable and gorgeous he is. Choi had arrived earlier and flushed all of the pearls down the toilet to make it look like Kang took them and ran away. - Choi took Jin back to his place and played a video of Kang from the appraiser. Choi plays a recording of a phone conversation he had with Kang. It revealed Kang as a former host with a debt. Choi says Kang was just using Jin. - In the beginning Choi seduced Jin who slept with a man for the 1st time. Choi became obsessed with keeping Jin to himself like a new toy when he found out about Jin and the pearls. - Jin discovered Choi was also sleeping with his mother. - Choi promised to marry her as it was the best solution for all of them, but Jin told Choi to get out of their lives. - Kang is tied up in a warehouse after being hit by a car that brought Choi to the motel that Jin and Kang were staying at. A group of gangsters surround Kang and their leader is about to carve Kang up with a handaxe. Kang takes out all of the gangsters and escapes. - Choi rapes Jin who fights back by smashing Choi’s head with a pot plant. Jin leaves the house and decides to kill himself at the restaurant by cutting the gas pipes. - Kang arrives and smashes the door of the restaurant. As he carries Jin to the car, the restaurant explodes from a flicked cigarette butt by a nearby drunk. Choi arrives and sees the explosion. - Kang punches Choi but can’t kill him due to the CCTV. - Choi offers to pay Kang’s debt if he lets Jin go. - Kang drives away. Jin wakes up and tries to run away. - Kang tells Jin that none of what Choi said was true. - They make love in the car. Kang asks Jin to never attempt suicide again as Kang’s crazy about him. - Kang takes them to Seoul and lets Jin rest in his unit. - Kang makes a surprise appearance at the opening of a new club. Kang meets with the club owner and gangster boss Shin Jae-il. Kang asks to have his debt wiped if he agrees to work for him. Kang also asks for help with protecting Jin. - Kang and Jae-il 1st met at Peter Pan. Jae-il was raising funds for his new club and had received a proposal from a yakuza about a porno business. They met at Peter Pan because the corrupt civil servant helping the yakuza was a regular there. - When the yakuza became violent, a drunk Kang stopped him with one hand. Jae-il tried to recruit Kang but he refused. - Kang is given his 1st job from Jae-il. Kang was told to capture a guy but ended up having to face his men too. Kang is injured with a broken arm but gets the guy to Jae-il. Kang is given the keys to a unit that’s safer for Jin to stay in. - Kang returns home to find Jin gone and a letter. - Jin wrote that he can’t escape his past and he doesn’t want anyone to suffer because of him. - Jin has gone back to his parents’ house and got a job at the local fish market. A doctor diagnosed Jin with PTSD but Jin just wanted pills. He’s tired, lonely and missing Kang terribly. - Choi has his men keeping tabs on Kang and Jin. - After 3mths, Jae-il found Jin and gave the location to Kang. - Kang arrives while Jin is asleep. Jin wakes up in the morning to find his place cleaned up and emptied. - Kang is waiting outside. He had all of Jin’s stuff sent to Seoul. Jin threw a tantrum and told Kang he didn’t want to ruin his life. Kang says he doesn’t want to live without Jin. - Kang takes Jin back to the new unit and they have catch-up sex.

ch 41 as of 06/09/21 - ch 36 on Webtoon - Archduke Kirion / Killian Axias (ML) comes by to collect a debt of 2 million gold from the Count but finds a funeral being held instead. The Count died of the plague and was to be buried with his widow as a live sacrifice. The Archduke takes her in exchange of clearing the debt. - FL is Rietta Tristi. She was happily married before the Count. Her 1st husband died, a suspected murder by the Count. Her 3yo child was sold into slavery to force her to become the Count’s concubine. - FL is given a house and settlement money by the ML. She thanks him with a gift, her child’s ring blessed with a protection spell. She has divine powers that allow protection and purification (blessing). She is also able to see demons. - The harem: Nickname of the East mansion where the women with special skills reside under ML’s protection. FL goes there to cast blessings regularly. - An envoy from the Empress (ML’s stepmother and enemy) and the Great Temple Havitus invites ML to attend a grand blessing ceremony on the night of the full moon. It includes an offer of his reinstatement as a member of the imperial family (which he declines). FL travels with ML as part of a group. The ceremony will be held by the archbishop and a high priestess (who is related to the Empress). - The ML is framed for the murder of the high priestess but the FL helps him to ultimately avoid suspicion. Another of his women take the body of the high priestess far away from the temple. - FL agrees to take the role of high priestess in the ceremony. - The divine energy from the grand blessing will have brief side effects on FL’s body. She experiences some initial pain and bleeding. - At the height of the ceremony, the Empress kills the archbishop. FL realises the clerics are imposters and shields ML with her body as the first attack strikes. - ML’s soldiers move quickly to protect the worshippers and his harem are actually skilled warriors and mages who attack the false clerics and undead raised by the possessed archbishop.

Ch 36 as of 24/02/22 - Johan / Joachim Jerpe has been working for the last 3yrs as a sniper for the US Federal Government’s SIA (Secret Intelligence Agency, NY branch, 3rd division) to pay off his mother’s debt. He wants to quit as soon as that debt is paid but it’ll take a long time. - 2yrs ago Joachim was introduced to Juergen Eisler at a gay bar and they were attracted to each other from the start. - Joachim tried to keep the relationship on a casual sex basis, but Juergen wanted a real relationship as lovers. - Joachim and Juergen know almost nothing about eachother. - Sergei Razaliev, Russian mafia, key position in Chechnya. - Robert, Templar Knights Commander and a powerful fire mage. - Joachim has an esper and a wind mage as part of his team. - Joachim failed to kill Sergei because of the Templar Knights. He says his mother is sick back in Sweden and he has to look after her. - Juergen asks Joachim to live with him until he has to catch his plane. In the morning, Joachim wakes up to find his wrists are cuffed and locked. Juergen won’t let Joachim leave, even to go to work. He says he’s tolerated all of the lies and secrets Joachim has but he won’t accept their breakup over another lie. - Juergen wants to know the real reason for their breakup. - Juergen says Joachim doesn’t have to work and he can look after Joachim instead. Juergen keeps Joachim confined to his place for a week but Joachim doesn’t really try to escape. - The esper contacts Joachim in his mind and teleports items requested by Joachim for his escape. Joachim returns to his place. Later that day Juergen arrives but Joachim already has his bags packed and points a gun at Juergen to let him leave. - At the pier for the mission, Joachim is caught by Robert and taken to the Templar Knights prison. Joachim manages to escape but is shocked to find Juergen in another cell, injured and bloodied. - Juergen was the SIA agent who infiltrated the Templar Knights but was found out and tortured. His alias is Shadow. - Joachim and Juergen manage to overcome the few sentries on guard. At the entrance they face Robert who had just returned. - Robert decides to let them go just this once. He suggests to Joachim that he look further into Juergen’s true identity.

He investigates Jiwook to obtain his background and personal info. - Shim Junyoung, goes to school with Seungeon. - His father works at the JS Group. - Kwon Hyungseo, son of the family who own the Ilgang Group. - He took a year off from school and has just returned. - He had beaten up someone badly but he was cleared of all charges. - He’s a manipulative, sadistic psycho. - Jiwook hates to be a charity case and being reminded of his poverty. He sees Seungeon’s generosity as arrogance and a burden. - One day after school Seungeon surprises Jiwook by turning up at his tiny, rundown place. Seungeon apologises if Jiwook felt insulted and says he just wants to be friends. - Seungeon makes Jiwook study with him. - On the weekend Seungeon picks up Jiwook. They go to Seungeon’s place, a huge 2-level penthouse apartment. - During a break Seungeon suddenly kisses Jiwook. - Jiwook slaps Seungeon who slaps back really hard. - Jiwook takes his stuff and leaves. - Seungeon is absent from school for days. - He has sex with women to try and relieve his sexual frustration. - One night he surprises Jiwook at home again. He confesses he likes Jiwook who doesn’t believe him. Jiwook just wants to be friends. They agree to continue studying together.

Muhan’s mother and the rest of the household are murdered. The house is also destroyed. Muhan returns to find FL hidden in a basket and the corpse of Ayeon in the snow. - Muhan becomes a wanted fugitive after he kills the Viceroy and 20 guards. He leaves FL in the care of monks at Bokryung Temple in the Gunah mountains. He visits her when she’s 5yo and 7yo. - During the Buddhist festival for All Souls’ Day, 7yo FL thinks Garyun is a celestial maiden. She had always hoped on this day her mother would be able to visit FL as a celestial maiden. - Garyun leaves the ashes of his family at the Buddhist temple. - FL left the temple to live with Muhan and her new stepmother, Wang Seonhae. When FL was 14yo, Seonhae was pregnant. Seonhae suddenly fell ill and gave birth early to a girl, Seoheun. - The doctor says Sanghae needs a herb called Yongnae. This herb is only available from the imperial treasury. - Muhan is arrested at the imperial palace for trespassing and he’s accused of trying to assassinate the Emperor. FL attends the execution of Muhan and attacks the guards. - FL tries to free Muhan but is stopped by Wolhan, one of the Emperor’s personal bodyguards. - 20yo / 22yo Emperor Garyun comes forward from among the crowd of spectators. FL asks to take her life instead of Muhan’s. - Garyun makes a deal with FL. He will spare Muhan’s life and give them the Yongnae herb. In exchange FL’s life belongs to Garyun. He will teach martial arts to FL and help her grow stronger. - 20th Prince (?) became the Emperor. - 3yrs later a shrine was built for his mother, Empress Myunghae. - The Yellow Dragon Empire became more stable - Jingwa, the Left General / Lt. Gen. - Eun Sohyun, Garyun’s favourite concubine (?) - The Blood Dragon Sword is one of the imperial treasures and is a sword that chooses it's owner. FL starts to unsheath the sword and calls forth the Blood Dragon who unseals the Lair of Demons. - Garyun pushes FL into the Lair which closes behind her. She’s expected to use this as an opportunity to become much stronger. - In the Lair, FL meets a vengeful spirit called Seo Tagyun the Ghost of 1000 Souls. He was a powerful warrior and swordmaster. - He promises to give his powers and abilities to FL after she agrees to deliver a jade token to his son. FL becomes Tagyun’s disciple. - FL spends the next year training under Tagyun while fighting the demons and evil spirits in the Lair. - Prince Gagwang and Tagyun were close friends. They fell in love with the same woman, Ryu-An. She chose to be with Tagyun. - After Gagwang became Emperor 30yrs ago, Tagyun was sent to the border region to conquer the barbarians. While Tagyun was away, Gagwang had everyone at Tagyun’s estate slaughtered by Thirayu the Human Dog. Ryu-An was raped and killed by Gagwang. Ryu-An managed to hide their son. - Tagyun asks FL to bring him some water from the Evil Stream in the middle of the Lair. FL sees many colourful mushrooms called Earth Spirit Herbs there. She eats some and coughs up blood. - The Earth Spirit appears and says FL will suddenly gain power from eating the mushrooms. As compensation for eating them, FL must protect the mushrooms until they turn blue. - Sorin, another spirit. He teaches FL how to hide her true self by changing her appearance using a special Qi skill. - 2yrs later, the mushrooms turn blue and FL takes the water to Tagyun. FL is now 17yo. - Emperor Gagwang, Garyun’s father. Gagwang was a tyrant who neglected his duties while he engaged in debauchery. - Empress Myunghae, Garyun’s mother. - 13yo Garyun, the Crown Prince. - Gahan, the 4th Prince and Garyun’s younger brother. - Princess Sohae and Aunt Jangran, Garyun’s family. - Mahae, a concubine and the new Empress. - Prince Gajin, Mahae’s son. - Mahae frames Gahan with a false accusation that has him stripped of his title and imprisoned. He hopes to die so Garyun won’t be targeted. Mahae sends assassins to kill Garyun and his family. - Garyun is forced to flee the palace while everyone he cherishes is killed. Garyun wanders around the country for a few years. 18yo Garyun returns to the palace, kills his father and takes the throne. - Tagyun transferred his soul to FL’s sword. - FL left the Lair and killed Thirayu the Human Dog. - FL delivered the jade token to Tagyun’s son, Taejyu. - FL returns to the imperial palace. Garyun rewards FL by granting her the position of Elite / Head Imperial General. - Nam Daegyun, Garyun’s uncle - Mayung, FL’s falcon / eagle - FL’s first imperial mission is to go to the Muho region that is known for it's pearls. Garyun showed FL some pearls with blood inside them. There has been a sudden increase in deaths. The cost of medicine has also increased. There’s a mysterious epidemic that causes festering wounds. - The local lord Yeo Sumin kidnapped the pearl farmer and his male lover who was one of the water folk. The male lover cursed Sumin which spread to the local people. - FL saves the pearl farmer and his male lover. The pearl farmer kills Sumin. His male lover returns to the ocean and the curse is lifted, ending the epidemic and curing everyone. - Garyun’s 25th bday celebration: - FL hears that Gagwang’s tomb is haunted by a female ghost. FL suspects it’s the spirit of Ryu-An who has been sealed away by Gagwang. FL disguises herself as a court lady and goes to the tomb. - FL frees Ryu-An’s spirit but is cursed by Gagwang’s spirit. - FL escapes when she hears Wolhan. FL collapses in a nearby bamboo forest. She’s found by Garyun who sensed her Qi. - Garyun takes FL to an empty pavilion and dispels the curse from her body. He’s fallen in love with her at 1st sight. - After she’s rested and recovered, with her permission they make love all night (Ch 37). He thinks her name is Yeon (lotus flower). FL disappears in the morning. - Empress Dowager Inhye, Garyun’s grandmother. - Serial killer - Brides of influential families are killed on their wedding night. - Their deaths are made to look like suicides.
