Dear Gene
FIRST AND FOREMOST, THIS IS THE SAME AUTHOR OF THAT RUMSPRINGA MANGA???? OWEEMJI I didn't realize til I finished and saw it listed on the same author but when it mentioned RUMSPRINGA I was like hol' up— I've read a manga with that name before. Also didn't realize at the end that Theo and Oz made a cameo???? But omg do I love the art. This author's works are. Edit. Reread this. It hits way harder a d much differently now that I'm in college that when I first read it in highschool. It's not just some romance manga for me now, it's become much more relatable. I'm not Amish but I'm similarly from a small town. It's not as if it's cut-off from the world but it is small. I don't hate it here, I love and adore it as well as my folks. But similarly with Gene, perhaps it's my age or just me, but there's that want on becoming a "somebody", stupid as it may be. In so many movies it's shown that the character leaves their hometown because they had a bad upbringing, family, some shitty neighbors. Compared to those movies, while there are some annoying people and bad days with the family, it's still very close to my heart. I feel for Gene terribly. All the more since we have the same name lol.

A Loving Existence
I freaking love this *cries* Update. So funny how I dropped this at some point and forgot about it. I picked it up back again and before I knew it I literally lost track of time; it's already past 3am now. I found it interesting that the side characters didn't have a definite "soulmate" with another character. For example, the little brother ended up focusing on becoming a police officer rather than pursuing the girl. That girl in turn (thankfully) didn't turn gungho on Jaekgyung. Most other stories somehow seem to form side couples. I like how this portrays the crazy batshit of highschool (saying as a SHS and graduating student lmao) but at the same time not too much drama. There were two issues I disliked tho. First, the dad (Jaekgyung's) was an ass and somehow things just carry on. Same with Naeyeoung (ex gf girl). I mean come on the dad was psychologically and physical abusing Jaeha and what the girl did (which the author seemed to hunt was the one sending Jaekgyung the texts) might even constitute to a crime. And they just get let-off like 1,2,3? Tho, what Naeyeoung said about how the mc should have confronted both of them was honestly agreeable. That aside, the story is great tho a bit slow-paced and "long" for me.
Fuyu no Hanashi (Yamada)
