So the mc is waiting for his lover to come back from travelling and learning for two years, and when he does he wants to go to china, but the mc doesn’t want to bc Korea is his home and stuff. Ultimately he decides to go bc his boyfriend convinced him but nn the boat they are searching for Catholics and the guards found that his boyfriend had a catholic scroll. So he got arrested and the mc kinda waited and waited before his boyfriend told him to go to china without him and that he will catch up. He never did, and the boyfriend grew into an elderly man waiting for him. He still sent letters and had so many things he wanted to tell him. I theorize that the boyfriend is dead bc I guess Catholicism is not as forgivable as other crimes so he got killed.
