2024 Review: Like the other reviews regarding sensei's works, I've only followed VK closely and only beginning to explore her other works. I'm also planning on reading this after buying them. Edit: I read all from here in one go just now and tbf the FL reminds me of VK's FL Yuuki. She's not only pretty, athletic, and strong, but also introspectively aware that she's suppressed her emotions for far too long. The age gap between the love interests and the same age love interest are also all so familiar to me like the way VK is set up haha I can't say I hate it. Mr Rodd is like Kaname but the version of normal human, old man. I don't hate anything at all. It's truly a beautiful story. I love that the FL doesn't end up with anyone. Some romance stories are fun to read when there's no definite couple and there are multiple ships - like although they're somewhat star-crossed lovers turned into something like the one that got away trope, I still appreciate this type of storyline because there are far so many common happy endings. I tend to love sad/tragic endings or bittersweet ones because contrary to life rn where everything is sweet and bubbly, it's nice to read about something like this. It's always fun to read about conflict ending up on a high note despite the heartbreaks and rejections. Life is like that. I skipped to ch10; I love the story.
