Cherry Blossoms After Winter

Complete | Bamwoo | 2000 released

It's a cute story, it just dragged on for too long. I like the kind of story with an insecure mc, like Haebom, who then learns to trust those around him and believe in himself. It's so satisfying to see the angst and self-doubt be disproven. However, from the moment the two of them confessed to each other and got together, not a lot happened. It was cute to read, sure, and it was nice when the smut was introduced. I just kinda stopped reading, though, bc I couldn't focus properly. Imo, the author should've just ended the story there and maybe have had a few extra chapters about the characters moving in together and the people closest to them learning about their relationship. But psychotic seniors, old exes and the like, were really pointless and forgettable drama, that had no obvious or lasting effect on either of the characters or their relationship.

Emperor's Mask

This story is so boring, clichéd and predictable. The FL is bland and the ML is a walking cliché, but without any redeeming qualities, unlike others within the trope. Like, he established a Harem only to ignore all the ladies - even when they try to commit suicide or are murdered. He thinks of them as burdensome, heck he doesn't even want to pay their living costs. If you are so uninterested in taking a consort, then don't. Otherwise recognise your responsibility and take care of the ladies you've taken in. Don't just cast them aside and let them suffer. Like, wtf. Ofc the ladies in this story are all portrayed like shallow, selfish, annoying bitches to justify his actions and make the FL stand out as "the exception" and fit the "not like other girls" trope. But it's not only an overused cliché, but a stupid and mysogynistic concept.
