10!, I love this one. It’s like a well rounded soup that has depth, it hearty and delicious at the same time. The timing of it taking place (three years after the sisters passing), their development being led by the assumed sister watching over both of them, their heart to hearts as they each go through their internal processing, and the genuine love/adoration they feel for each-other is so wholesome. Now tbf the kisses were not consensual, therefore rather than 100 I give it a 10, but I can’t deny that everywhere else it’s perfect. I wouldn’t say there was any miscommunication because it’s actually more of healing ones self and consolidating hurt feelings from loss. Anyway, would def reread.

Haikyuu! dj - Primary Target

Complete | Zeroshiki,Kabosu | 2000 released

5.0, I surprisingly liked this one because there’s no gr@pe or SA or dubious consent, although I can’t rate it any better because the reoccurring discussion of monopolizing and possible grape is off putting. It felt very much omegaverse without the omegaverse genders? But I really liked how the plot is set with catching feels, having a fued, only for them to have a character influence on Kageyama that inspires him to change. Very interesting actually, plus the art is kinda cute I can’t lie. Could reread.

Sutenaide My Hero

Complete | himoda q | 2017 released

3.0, I give one star for creativity. Having a Seme Omega and a Uke Alpha is original and unique. I give another star for art style, very beautiful. And I give a final star for its potential. Unfortunately, I still detest plots that have a primary climax of r@pe. Was it a nice change to see the dynamics shift? Yes but what’s the difference between this and just another average omegaverse manga if they both are “r@ped but forgiven” tropes. I stopped at Chapter 5 because of this awful development, the whole forgiveness redemption plot doesn’t even make sense, what does being sweet when he was younger have to do with his CONSCIOUS choice to force the Uke Alpha into something with NO consent. My mentally unwell readers, I couldn’t even finish reading it, anything after chapter 5 is unnecessary. I don’t need to read more “happy” ever after side stories with a toxic dynamic couple lmao. Not rereading again. Jail bruh.

Ookami-sama no Koiwazurai

Complete | Tobi washio | 2019 released

5.0, it’s not excelling simply because a lot of the physical affection is forced upon and therefore not consensual but I’ll not put a SA tag since it’s outlined in chapters that it’s an instinctive trait of the wolf breeds. I really love this manga overall though, first off the art was top tier and I knew it would be based off the first panel. Second of all, the plot is really sweet getting down to it, the calm natured human friend of a susceptible hybrid breed protecting his susceptible friend from danger and finding love in the process by changing said danger into a lover is actually quite wholesome. Plus the development felt perfectly sequential, it wasn’t rushed or over complicated, the human did research and took his time to learn his feelings alongside the reader until it came to a head with a communicative understanding between the two lovers. Def would reread again.

Kono Ore Ga Omae Nanka Suki Na Wakenai

Complete | ogawa chise | 2012 released

2.0, the art is fine I suppose, it’s unquestionably original but it seems inconsistent at times like an initial piece. I think the affection scenes are nice and cute if I pretend it’s not the main couple, because unfortunately a dynamic I loathe is an extremely juvenile miscommunication plot and a Uke thats nothing more than a pretty face (with an IQ of single digit of course). And I already saw the misunderstanding a mile away, it wasn’t necessary for 5 full chapters of it only for it to end with the confirmation I saw coming. It’s a bit repetitive in that aspect, the Uke “tried to seek revenge” and failed miserably for too long. Similarly, tried to mend things for too long. The Semes an idiot too, doesn’t confront what he wants to say the end during their so called angst period AND he doesn’t understand that his first love is the Uke. I guess they’re made for eachother that way. Also kiss and touch was not consensual for a majority so. Usually I’d keep my rating low because of SA or r@pe in pair with a toxic plot but I also rate this low for mangas that feel like a waste of time. Won’t reread again.

My X report

Complete | Golden Egg | 2000 released

5.8, I actually really liked this one despite its initial impression. For a manhwa that has a lot of comedy built into it, it still manages to have a plot with character development that’s engaging. The two main characters are easy to like, although I admittedly would get a little annoyed with the Uke in times where he very clearly wore his thoughts on his face and thought otherwise, but it added to the comedy and the resolve. I very much like that the resolution did not involve some spontaneous reveal of the Uke causing the Seme to be hurt and distraught to the point of them not speaking w/ the Uke getting hurt like many manhwas do. This one was unique, kept the misunderstanding to a minimal, and everything was confronted up front in the end. I just wish the ending involved them after officiating their union. (Also love the side characters in this, many of them were delights and unknowingly played roles that really helped carry the storyline). Would reread again for sure.

Ask Affection

Complete | Yoichi makina | 2019 released

4.8, it wasn’t terrible by any means. I think the plot builds under the guise of consent but not actual consent because there’s substance influence involved. Then again, a lot of plots with catalysts that use the ‘one-nighter’ dynamic are common and it happens irl so I could overlook it (but it does admittedly put my off, because it pairs with the stubborn Seme who’s trying to bulldoze his way into the Ukes heart for better or worse). Getting that detail out of the way, thankfully this extremely determined Seme is thankfully a good character with green flag traits so their union isn’t one I would protest against. It’s cute that they form a relationship and develop trust over the chapters, I also appreciate that the Seme somewhat allowed the Uke to take time to develop those feelings alongside offering reassurance. I could reread again for a little change but it’s not a top fav unfortunately.

Honey Maple More More Sugar

10.0, it’s really cute art actually especially the scenes where they’re in a mind scape involving their shared hobby of cute items such as hand-sewn stuffed animals. I really adore that the Seme has such a rough exterior with accompanying expressions yet he’s gentle, he’s adoring, and my favorite of all, HE PRIORITIZES CONSENT. That’s what happens when you’re deeply n wholly devoted with someone’s well being. Nice to see that it breaks away from the toxic norms in this genre. I’d def reread again.

Sensei Nante Kirai Desu.

Complete | Hinako (ひなこ) | 2016 released

4.9, ffs like.. the Seme is truly one of the most FINE characters I’ve ever seen in any BL manhwas/mangas of this style (iykyk). And it is quite cute, their development, how their feelings come to fruition, etc. Honestly a part of me did really like the storyline, to be chased after by an extreme attractive very popular individual who only has eyes for the Uke? Of course I’m into that. BUT, I can’t with good conscience get with it to rate it fully stars because of a couple things: 1) the blaring red flashing neon lights that this is an ADULT non-consensually hitting let alone KISSING and touching a minor (technically multiple w/ the Uke + two female students). 2) the fact that he did it twice, he apparently pushed a student down and pinned her on the table, although after the incident he contests that he was hit on to the Uke, immediately after the Uke ran off he literally told the female student he apparently “got aggressive hit on by” to come see him another time? Idk feel like we moved past that too quickly. 3) Alrhough this is a lesser of two evils situation I’m about to describe- in plots that use this age gap dynamic, they usually at the very least decently wait until all parties are legally consenting adults (18+) yet this one alludes to the fact that the Uke is still a minor because at the end, the Uke heads to the Semes place but has to hide on the side while the Seme chases off the students who were looking for him/his house (Supported by their end conversation after coitus where it seems they discuss the Semes business as a teacher). I think it’d be just as good/even better better if the plot was applied to a College Life story or at the very least waited for the Uke to go into college and is in his second year or something. The only reason I feel quite swayed is I admittedly have harbored feelings for that Teacher x Student dynamic as a student- what can I say, I like someone older than me

Saiteina otoko no ude no naka

Complete | Megumi Kitano, 北野仁 | 2000 released

5.2, I really like this one actually despite the abruptness of it all within the first two chapters where they essentially were neighbors with benefits catalyzed by their straight friends/the couple that’s friends with Sora doing a deed next door. I don’t really care for the causality of it all because it many times is non consensual but Sora the Seme really did ask for comfortability and was fairly gentle with hanging out eating together etc. The art is beautiful actually and my favorite feature of this story is despite the run-away/push-away plot, they actually had a sit down conversation before continuing into any intimacy which I feel gives validity to their confessions. In addition, we even got an extra sort of chapter that shows they have support ally friends which was a cherry on top. I’d reread again for surez
