Tropes usually have the FL act as a parentified child or family therapist after adopting her even though she just came out of an abusive environment. But here, all they expect of her to be a child as she is in the family, and they care about her opinions on stuff. And they comfort her through trauma episodes. It feels so pure and warm and natural. And the dad is actually parenting???? Like, not just towards her but also his two boys??? And they show bits at the start of his troubles on being a single parent which is nice to see. Parenting is difficult and he's doing it despite being busy as hell.
