hmmm... nnggg... well. its ok i guess. the story is extremely subpar (like 3/10) but the arts really nice. some of the dialogue is cringe AF and... this is a really specific and maybe weird gripe but. the way the seme is a perfect unaffected unflappable person ever during sex is actually kinda a turn off. he was blowing the ukes back out and his facial expression hardly changed at all the whole time. idk it's just not very hot if he doesn't get into it a least a little like >_> also! the way the uke just gives the fuck up on the seme after getting yelled at a little bit was so stupid. i KNOW it's a staple of the celebrity/normie genre but like. he didn't even think about it for a second. the way he was all ''he's not someone i can keep all to myself, i'm holding him back'' INSTANTLY was just so grating. like homeboy is just a model man. he's not an actor or a celebrity or god forbid an idol (you know someone for whom a dating scandal would be a big deal) he's JUST a model. and an overseas model with a very successful career outside of japan. i think he'd be just fine if the tabloids published a few pictures but thats! just my opinion i guess!

eh. i didn't like this. i really enjoyed some of this authors other works but this one just wasn't it. the story starts off pretty cute but it eventually boils down to the way overdone seme wants to have sex uke is scared and keeps running away seme gets annoyed at him. like. so dull. been there done that. if the art was at least lustful and sexy i'd let is slide but the ukes design is NOT it at all. i don't like looking at him, especially in a sexual light.

eh. it's fine. standard utilitarian piece of yaoi. the female side character was such a massive bitch, and the thing with the uke looking like the semes ex was kinda brushed aside but. whatever. it's not really worth getting upset about

man this just kinda sucked. the art was extremely rough, the story felt rushed and disjointed and the sex all sucked. their first time was raw in a bathroom stall. if you love somebody thats not how you act >_> and the noncon is ch6 was so fucking unnecessary. i thought the seme was supposed to be a sweet kind person but whenever shit gets spicy he turns into the worst person in the world :/

the amount of fucking TROUBLE i have to go through to read this mediocre ass manga... hisss... k. so. this up in the chopped up web formatted version (scans are cleaner and translation is better) and this -> https://www.mangago.me/read-manga/hatsusjou_yakuza_no_goku_ero_danshi_gohan_manaitano_ue_no_ore/ seems like it's the like. volume version but. the thing is that other up isn't complete at 5 and it hasn't been updated in 3 years sooo. if you want the continuation i think we've got a better chance here. anyway. the manga itself. mid as fuck. generic as hell. like a 4/10. it gets the job done at the most basic level but doesn't go above and beyond in ANY category, not story, not art, not characters, nothing. everything is serviceable at best. all that said. i am a fujoushi at heart and i like stupid generic yaoi. i just want to see the side couple fuck once and then i'll drop this but till then i'm along for the ride i guess.

Interesting. Dunno if i love love love it but it does intrigue me. i want to see where it goes so i eagerly await vol 2

I liked a lot about this manga. i feel like the main couple had a really surprisingly good relationship. when something happened they always talked it out like rational adults it was honestly very very refreshing. like when the seme saw the uke was getting texts from a girl he brought it up the same night, he didn't stew on it and get bent out of shape. and when the love rival kissed the uke the very next thing he did was talk to the seme about it. also he got so upset he cried about it, which was really nice to see. so often it feels stuff like that gets brushed aside, especially if its "just" a kiss. i thought the first couple chapters where we indulged in the fantasizing gimmick were pretty funny. while i was a little sad to see the comedy fall by the wayside as we progressed i feel like the author captured some really good drama and emotion in the later chapters in exchange. all that said theres also some stuff i didn't really love. the arts is... interesting. the author puts a lot of effort into very detailed eyes and the style they use for the first portion... it's attention grabbing and clearly very purposeful but it's a little distracting. a little to much. it changes as we go on so that's good at least. aside from that the faces are quite good, i think the author has a very unique way of shading blushes with is very cute. their overall anatomy could use some work though... a lot of the sex scenes, especially the later ones look a bit rough. lastly this manga hits a bit of a pet peeve of mine, in which the characters are dating and in love (very very sweetly i might add genuinely lovely relationship) but insist they aren't gay. or bi. or any kind of attracted to men. and it's just... i KNOW the point of this kind of thing is to be like soulmates <3 it can't be anyone but you <3 but it just rubs me the wrong way. you can be soulmates and be gay i promise. not to police fictional characters identities but if you're dating a man i don't think you're straight anymore babe. god i got carried away on the review here uh. overall a 7/10. i think the actual relationship between the leads is REALLY excellent but some nitpicks with certain story beats and slightly rough art hold this back from a higher rating.

Art is INCREDIBLE, looking forward to see where this goes.

i wish i had something more to say about this ones. it's. fine. like 6/10. its competent but not great. the art really doesn't do it for me, it's just a little stiff in a way i really don't like. and the linework isn't pleasing at all.
