on ch 33. i like it so far. really nice art, the premise is pretty nicely delivered. story seems like it's holding together nicely so far. gonna have to finish it later though i was under the impression this was shounen ai which uhh.. tis not! so. i'll get back to it later lmao.

very interesting actually. at first i was mad annoyed but the characters really grew on me. i like how none of the misunderstandings or issues lasted more then a chapter or two at absolute most, it was nice how they started talking more as it went along. the sex was really... vague. like it's not the end of the world i don't mind a more... implied sex scene but especially the last chapters it was kinda hard to even tell what specifically they were doing. i wonder if the English release censored it or if that's how it was originally?

this kinda sucks ngl. the emperor is a completely inconsistent and it feels like his personality swings wildly between chapters. the mc is fucking BORING fr. but whatever im reading it i GUESS

this is surprisingly nice. i will say, the translation is a fucking mess. this is something a lot of janky translations ahve but the pronouns are all messed up. and like.. normally thats whatever but in this series its mad confusing. like i genuinely can't tell who is a man or a woman and i'm spiralling out of control. i THINK the emperor is a woman and all the concubines are men (except for sanya? why'd they send a girl if everyone else is men!!) but the people working for sanya i can't tell.

on chappie 22 soooo the review so far... this is more... literary then what i usually read. it's like... i don't want to say "it's deep" because that makes me feel like an idiot but that's... all i got baby. it's a drama! like a proper drama. and i don't usually read those... so it's a bit tough. it just feels kinda shitty to read, although it is fascinating. on the translations. i was reading the fansubs because the official is r15 instead of r18 but nnggghhh... theres a lot of nuance thats completely lost. some stuff is just entirely different or straight up doesn't make sense if you're not reading the official ups. i don't think the smut is worth losing the integrity of the story, especially for something like this. also it makes me to fuckign sad while i'm reading it for it to really be any fun in that regard anyway orz.
