That last chapter was just anticlimatic after all the borderline psychological torture she endured. Like, there were too many briges burnt for a reader to believe she would accept to even be hugged by that dude. She may feel guilty af, but the level of trauma and resentment she had needs more time to be processed that just a couple pages imo."

What we saw in the beginning, CTK being chained and Heeseo raping him, happens 8 years after what I'm writing below. It's to show the future. Then Heeseo, really anxious and angry (also didn't wanted to go back to his shitty foster family), saw CTK and his ex-lover kissing. He got fixated on breaking his facade, see some reactions. So he tried to kiss Tae who slapped him and ran away. After a while, he is back with the step mom who wants to report Heeseo for arson. Since CTK insist on sending him back to the foster, Heeseo ran away. He found some part time jobs and somewhere to live. Things happen, he fought with a coworker and injured him so he ran away. Feeling lost he goes to a roof to jump but CTK who saw him run, followed him. He slipped and they both fell. They survived but CTK got injured and need help, Heeseo went back to live with him again. He then had another opportunity to look at his back and recognized him. Tho CTK still lies about it. Btw when they were on the roof, Heeseo asked him why he does all that, CTK said he was in debt or smth. We don't know the details yet. Seems like CTK knew Heeseo's mother, she even gave him a book when he was a kid.
