Her father and a old tutor told her it was a hallucination or smth from a hypnosis or smth that the gypsy maid did when she was a child. She lost her memory and her feelings became more dull/numb. She believed that she was in a novel when she isn't. Her mother was the same apparently. "Her father knows about the curse because her mother went through the same thing, and her mother was finally able to die because she experienced true love with her 'male protagonist', her father. Karen still doesn't believe in her father though. Because her 'male protagonist' is Raymond, and through their previous lives, he had always loved her, but she still can't die." "So the family curse, they have to all die a total of a 10000 lives all together. The first that started it was when people sacrificed a saint to redeem all their sins. The saint was the first to go through the curse. Somehow with Duran and Raymond's past memories, those years also got taken into account, and the curse was broken from Karen's generation." So once our fl ends up with her true love the resetting will end. The reason she becomes off and starts killing everyone is cause she has literally experienced and remembers being brutally murdered 100 times. Wouldn’t you go insane if you were brutally murdered 100 times and remember each and every time it happened and even who murdered you? Would you be able to smile and laugh around people you are aware have brutalized you into the grave? Her situation is honestly tragic as hell and I completely understand why she acts the way she does. The story is to show the effects on the human mind after basically resetting/reincarnating over and over again. Other novels typically never show the effect being brutally killed and then ending up somewhere else has on the fl. This one is all about that trauma and her losing her mind from how overwhelming it is. The ml is able to sort of save her in a sense and stops her from being a homicidal maniac. He is sort of able to return her to normalcy by the end of the novel."

Don't know much about that, but he doesn't remember the dream. In that dream, he said that he couldn't control what he said, wrote or did. He was mean to Illya and kind to Sylvia, his mind got twisted, sometimes thinking it was normal to love Sylvia and other that he souldn't treat Illya like that, that he should be by her side. Interesting. (ch 15-16 novel) Even when she tried to ran away alone it didn't end well. She got captured, was treated like a slave and sent to a brothel. Alfred found her just before she died, brought her back to the mansion just to be insulted by Soleil who finished his monologue by telling her that thanks to her, he had built a family with Sylvia and had two children ! Then she died of exhaustion/sickness. What an asshole. And Sylvia who said nothing !!! Pisses me off. (ch 13-14 novel) We learn that Illya's mother put poison/drug in the vial of tea she gave Sylvia ! But I don't understand why. She said that Sylvia shouldn't have gone to the academy and that she became more lively, which isn't good apparently. Then the mom killed herself. (ch 30-31 novel) Okay so she went back in time (thanks to crow ?) to the day her mother died and they talked more (ch 34 novel) : “… And despite that, you put drug in her tea?” “Because that’s the only thing I could do.
