Tabun Korekara Ai no Hibi
I was hooked right from the start. It struck me deep, and kinda hurts reading this because i know very well the feeling of seeing all your peers going up in their lives when you yourself are stagnant, or even declining.
Tsurumaki-sensei no Sakka Seikatsu
TW: sexual assault (not between MCs) Adorable! Story is simple with no dragged on conflict and the side characters are great.
Nakittsura ni Hug
Starry Night
TW: power imbalance, dubcon I stopped reading ages ago but never bothered to mark this manhua as dropped. Don't get me wrong, the art is gorgeous as hell and the story is decent (albeit declining halfway through) but imo it's as good as done by the time the MCs got together and i had no motivation to continue reading.
First Night With My Beloved
HEALTHY AND CARING SEX OH MY LORD the huge size gap could be disturbing for some people (me included, but these two were so sweet together that i got over it right away), if you look past that, you'll find a good story filled with mutual love, care, and respect. Just shows how consensual caring sex is wayyy hotter than any form of forced / non-con pleasure.
Here And There And Us (And Then And After)
Read "Here and There and Us" first! Hoo my god. I've waited for this one for a looong time. I truly think that the prequel ended in a perfect place, but this one provided a welcome insight of what transpired between our boys before they got together, and how they navigate the new dynamic of their relationship. I love, love their conversations, the natural progression of friends becoming lovers and the general cozy vibe of the manga. It's such a slow and comforting read, definitely still a favorite for me.
JOY
NOOOO THIS IS SO FUCKING GOOD ARE YOU KIDDING MEEEEEEE like id be happy if i died right here where i just finished reading this, like FUCK this is good. Everything is so fluid! So laid back! But it's also deep and heartwarming AND heartwrenching! I really love the dynamic of the MCs, the way the author establish and develop so much of the story within 8 short chapters is masterful, the art is great, and i'm both so fucking happy and sad (cuz i've read it!! Now what do i do?!!) to finally find a new favorite manga of mine.
Kachou, Kekkon Shimashou!!
Found family! Bonding over food! Slowburn romance! Well developed and respectful relationship! Also, that extra chapter about the MCs taking their time to find out how sex can feel good for both of them is so freaking important -- because YES, sex doesn't work like it does in the majority of BL mangas and YES it's mostly figuring it out step by step slowly for it to be pleasurable for both parties. Anyways. I had high hopes and was really happy that this manga Delivered.
Contradict
This here is a fine specimen of my guilty pleasure read. Gotta admit that the character development is lacking, there's little to no plot, and the dubcon at the start is pretty iffy, but it has all the tropes i'm so fkn weak for. Two hot MCs? Check. Rivals to lovers? Check. Good banter? Check. Manly bonding through adversity? Check! So yep, that's a four star from me.
