After seven years, and with his eyes quite red, it is rumoured that he is not long for this world, but he is unbothered by it, and instead does his duty happily, enjoying the company of the Guardian Deity however he'll take him. One night, the offering confesses that he had a dream of the two of them escaping the Tokoyoda residence and living freely together in the warmth of the sunlight, and the Guardian Deity begins to think that this time might be different, so the two agree to give eachother names in preparation. The offering—having never been named before—is given the name Akari, meaning "bright" (or alternatively, "vermillion red" depending on the spelling, both make sense in context) and the Deity—having been imprisoned so long he has forgotten his name—is given the name Hinata, meaning "sunny place", since they have become each other's light in the oppressive Tokoyoda residence.
