Ring my Bell
Not gonna lie, I really slept on this manhwa. I remember reading 2 or 3 chapters years ago and couldn't make it any farther because I didn't think the story was that interesting but I'm glad I gave it another change (even if it was years late). It's not that I thought the story was boring or anything, just that there wasn't much excitement that made me want to keep reading, but as I kept clicking chapter after chapter, I noticed how wholesome their story was. Outside of the drama or conflict, this felt like a genuine, real, and relatable story about two women who really love one another. These characters felt real, which is something I don't say frequently when I'm reading webtoons. Although it does start off a little slow and irratic, watching the progression and passion of the two main characters easily made this series a top 10 for me. Definitely consider giving it a read if you like simple and sweet stories.
I Adore you, Teacher
Not vibing with the story one bit. Like always, the art is breathtaking, but this story was... everywhere? I don't even really know how to articulate what I thought about it. I did want to like Seonmin, and I did in the beginning, but pitied her towards the end. The professor is just straight garbage for reasons outside of cheating and manipulation, and I don't even know where to begin with Yujin. Like, all the characters were bad and the ending was horrible. I'm so surprised too because this authors other works are pretty decent, not sure what happened here. Drama be dammed, this was hardly entertaining to read, it just just an amalgamation of sex scenes and nonsense. To give such a complex plot to characters we know little to nothing about and no time to even developed a connection with was bound to end bad, but this read was an all time low for me sadly. There's no one to feel sorry for, no one to be happy for, no one to root for, no end goal or anything and I hate that Yujin still ended up getting her happy ending. I hate that I couldn't enjoy this read, but even so, I still gave it 3 stars just because I love literally every other manhwa the author has made, this one just didn't sit right with me.
We Are in Love So Much We Laugh
I love these two. I remember buying a copy of I Love You So Much I Hate You, and immediately fell in love with the artwork and story. I'm so glad the author continued their lives together through these side stories, they've been such a pleasure to read. I love light hearted, down to earth, relatable stories like these with such great characters. Highy recommend checking out I Love You So Much I Hate You if you haven't already. Really, anything by this author I would highly recommend, but these two drive it home for me.
So, Do You Wanna Go Out, Or?
A beautiful, breathtaking story about two women who had to learn to love and lose. Seiko was such a great character, strong, determined, steadfast, someone who knew what she want and when she wanted it. Having paired her with someone like Miwa, someone so timid and insecure and unsure of herself nearly broke my heart when Seiko admitted that Miwa was the strong one in their relationship. It really opened my eyes to how Seiko truly saw herself. She was the weak one, afraid of getting hurt or being let down so she set up these barriers to keep herself safe. I fell absolutely in love with this manga, the characters, the artwork, even the sidee characters. Everyone had such intricate stories and relationships and it only stands to reason that not every relationship is going to be perfect, not even with the person you're destined to be with. I loved seeing Seiko and Miwa grow and develop throughout this story, both becoming better versions of themselves, versions they knew the other needed. 10 out of 10 story for me.
Love Thy Neighbor
A story revolving around two very mentally unstable people who thought ignoring their troubles and finding relief in one another was the best idea... I'm not as disappointed with the ending as I thought I would be. The middle of the story kinda got wild, too. Doyoung frustrated the absolute hell out of me, her character change toward the middle was ridiculous. The fact that she got jealous and mad at Jin Joo for not leaving her husband for her was crazy. Jin Joo was 100% justifiable in this, I will argue this until I die. She's a middle aged married woman in debt with no job or life experience and the fact that Doyoung thought she would leave her life in the hands of a fresh college student was idiotic on her part. In my respectful opinion, Jin Joo shouldn't have had to put up with her husband or Doyoung. Jin Joo was too hurt and too vulnerable to have been exposed to someone who was suppose to be helping her then turned to look for sex. I was glad to see Doyoungs character development, but the I would have personally preferred a different ending. Jin Joo and Doyoung met under bad circumstances and developed a very unhealthy codependency on one another, I do like that it got addressed towards the end, but I think an ending where they just stayed friends would have been so much better. All in all, it was a good read. Not boring at all and enough drama to keep you hooked.
Hottie's Heel
Umm... don't really have much to say about this one. I didn't like how the MC looked like a man, in every aspect until she took her shirt off. Not to say that I dislike masc women, but I felt like she was too heavy influenced by male design. Story is kind of... not good lol. There was really no plot, you're kind of just thrown into an already developed story that seemed 2 chapters in on the first page with no info or introduction. I don't know, maybe I'm reaching, but the MC was bland. Like, if you're going to commit to an awkward, anxious, antisocial, socially inept character that the readers are suppose to like as the MC, maybe give us more than her name and the fact that she has a foot fetish. She seemed very "background character" to me, if that makes any sense. It was super hard to feel anything for her other than grossed out by her. She had no character at all. I get that, being a one-shot, pacing for characters is sort of hard, but I feel like if it's unable to be pulled off within your page limit, maybe don't make the character that weird. It was very off-putting to read through. I believe this could have been better with more time and even 3 more chapters, but for a single chapter, I felt nothing but embarrassment while reading this.
