Just finished reading and thought I’d drop my thoughts for anyone considering starting it. This one is a mix of BL romance and mystery, and honestly the balance works pretty well. The setup is interesting, stray animals start disappearing, and a police trainee ends up teaming with a firefighter neighbor to figure out what’s really happening. It’s not just fluff; there’s actual suspense and a darker undertone that keeps you hooked.
What I really enjoyed was the chemistry between the leads. It doesn’t feel too rushed, and you can see trust and feelings building naturally as they deal with the mystery together. The art helps a lot with atmosphere too; emotional scenes hit nicely, and the darker moments feel heavy in the right way.
That being said, the pacing can get uneven. Sometimes the story slows down a lot to focus on side details or quiet moments, which might test your patience if you prefer fast plots.
Overall though, it’s definitely worth giving a try if you like a mix of romance, tension, and mystery. I’d rate it around 3.8 to 4/5. Not flawless, but engaging enough to keep me hooked.
