this manhwa has soooo much potential! i bet it would be even better if it was expounded upon, like adding more action scenes and history of the monsters—how they came to be, when did everything start, etc. we did not get to see much of the action aspect since this solely focused on romance. speaking of which, AYEEEEE red flag seme!!! manipulative, obssessive, possessive, psychopathic, and homicidal—he's not trash, he's straight up RADIOACTIVE NUCLEAR WASTE. and most importantly, HE PRETTY AS HEEEEEELL. i love it! judge me all you want, but i'd take this type of ML over those cardboard cutouts any day. however, the one i find lacking is the MC, actually. his esper trust issues hinder his overall character development, but you wouldn't trust a ticking time bomb either lol. and bro needs to work on his self-esteem!! it's so low it reached the fifth circle of hell !! if it weren't for the ML being so persistent, their relationship would not progress at all. thankfully he realized later on that he needs ML as much as ML needs him, and that it's okay to be a little selfish and have someone all to yourself. it's so cute. they're like two broken pieces of a puzzle who somehow fitted together :"P

i originally wanted to give this 3 stars because i'm quite dissatisfied with the uke's personality and i don't find myself getting attached to the plot or any of the characters. but the side stories persuaded me to add one more. i couldn't resist the cuteness of the two in the extras so here we are with four.

THE ART !! THE ART IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL OF AMAZING !! WHEN I TELL YOU MY JAW LITERALLY DROPPED THE MOMENT I SAW THE VERY FIRST PANEL OF THIS MANHWA !! THE CHIBIS ARE SO ROUND AND CUTE THAT IT MAKES ME CRY !! ALSO !! HOT SEX !!!!!!!

is it bad that i actually ship dohui and messenger... lmao... anyway i'm pretty satisfied with the main couple... as i am with the second couple (the baek "brothers")... albeit guiltily because it IS incest.the third couple is giving nothing! but messenger sure is PRETTY AS HEEELLLL the art is SO SO SO revolutionary istfg especially the gore and horror scenes?? the plot is kinda eh ? and the pacing is choppy but really, the whole manhwa is still cohesive and easy to read because it makes you keep looking for more

Ch77 Can't believe Yuri went from being my most hated character to my most favorite character of this manhwa HAHAHAHAHAHAHA he's still a major red flag, though, in the fact that he's possessive. Great character develooment for both sides!!!!! Just... why did they have to take 40-50 chapters to make progress..... it's was all so heavy to take in that i could not physically binge read this. nonetheless, i LOVE love love the portrayal of mentall illness because it was REALISTIC. Actually, almost everything about this manhwa is realistic, like the characters' personalities???? They're so distinct from one another and so full of depth they're almost human. a living, breathing human. This alone sets Form of Sympathy apart from other manhwas. The art. GOSH. the art makes me feel like i'm watching a film rather than reading a comic. I'm totally in love. edit: i finally picked this up again after ... what, almost two years? i had to read again from the start because i forgot everything already. but whew boy. this was just as BEAUTIFUL as i remembered. my sentiments didn't change much. the art is a cinematic masterpiece. this author is at the top of their league in terms of paneling, anatomy, and composition. i'd love to go more in depth about the art but i'll make a separate review once i put this on my other list. anyway, the writing is SO GOOD. the pacing and the flow of the story is as smooth as butter. the dialogues sounded natural. all the characters have depth. the romance is different, and i mean that in a good way. their relationship is not the typical one you'd expect from a bl, and i think it was fairly unique. it was two individuals whose broken pieces fit into each other quite well—not totally satisfying, but ultimately it makes the most sense for them to be together. i just felt the fluff lacking, is all. but their love is undeniable.
