Hybrid Child
i bawled my eyes out because of this. every story is lovely.
Baraou No Souretsu
it's so dramatic. complicated, also richard's motivations don't appeal to me.
Yuukoku no Moriarty
based on world-selling mystery fiction.
Hotel Phryne
self realization. i cried multiple times because of this. the frustration, damn.
December Rain
fuuuuuck. i knew it was going to be some kind of romeo and juliet and boy, i was right. everything is so beautiful. both in tears and in happiness.
The Chronicle Of Teenage Boys
first of all, this is a good representation of lgbt complex relationships. it's complete package. very wholesome, and the character designs are refreshing. it tackled themes without romanticizing them, (manic depression, drugs, manipulation, forced acts, abuse, animal cruelty, rape, violence, obsession) it didn't half assed the resolve one could make in a certain situation, like they can be good at most times then they could be bad because of the trauma that caused them to be what they are. but they didn't blame it on other people or randomly attack them, all characters here (except zewen) are rational in the head. very humane. i can't explain how i hate and love the characters in this manhua. i personally don't like cold people, i have the irks for them. arrogant and insensitive. but they just don't give me the ML here. thank goodness. i love how the author just didn't want to leave loose ends, and finished his work in a very detailed manner. i can't stop hoping zewen to rot alone, and gege should just get with the teacher (he's solely the MVP of cannon fodders!) he deserved someone who can give him peace of mind. i love each dynamics of the main, second and third couple. (which is the cutest gxg by the way). they have enough screentime and enough storyline to fleshed out their characters, which made them create the decisions they make. i can clearly follow the plot with ease and understanding each one's motivations. i just got shocked when the plot got darker with nian on the second season, who would believe he's a deterrent of why zewen is so obsessed with him? he has that dark side after all, i thought. my reviews are mostly positive and it's rare. the only thing i hate about this is how zewen isn't in jail yet, and why nian nian took so long of being dormant before taking action. like he never had a clue or two with what's happening behind his back. i loathe zewen got himself my favorite character, tsk. being a slave of desire is really something huh. also nian and zewen's postponed love story (i swear zewen's father is just fucking stubborn, at that time gay people aren't openly recognized, i understand that. but fuuuuck! he was being so oblivious of his own feelings that he didn't know every decisions that he took and what it means. he had one night stand with him, chase him, spent so much money to find him, he never cared for zewen's mom, and he still claimed he didn't have any feelings?! goodness gracious, he created his own misery. i felt bad for nian's dad that i cried literally totga, he had to wait for another life that's just sad) every conflict is resolved other than those 3. i can't deny, this is such a good bl.
The Beast Must Die
f** i already read this a long time ago but why the f** am i reviewing this now? the plot is messy as it is! kang moo isn't capable of loving. period. kirin and him is just on a mutualistic relationship. i can't elaborate any further. a dormant psychopath who acts only when it interfere with his own sense of justice (you might think, oh they control their triggers occasionally, they're not so dangerous, HONEY NO. you'll need your whole lifetime to understand the makings of this man. he'll never submit to anyone and can untie the chains any moment he doesn't find 'the thing' interesting. THAT'S WHAT MAKES HIM SCARIER.) but i hate the uke here. at first i'm rooting for him (like oh maybe he can change his habits or something, maybe love is the one he needs but no. IT'S CERTAINLY NOT HIS CALL TO FIX SOMEONE AS DAMAGED AS HIM. you can add the seme's complex family relationships to the bomb) but at this point no. just no. he's helpless. you can only be by his side but HE CAN'T SATISFY YOU. he will never. there will always be a hole, a unfulfilled desire. i'm not speaking for myself because the author confirmed this. fans of TBMD you know she confirmed this via twitter. and 60% of the plot is pure sex, sex, sex. a lot of trigger warnings also. ️ torture and abuse, possession, manic ptsd, ocd, hallucinations, people who does things for fun (sick on the head) and rape. i can't say more because this is a heavy read.
