Nakanai Hotaru
Ayase is a disgraced doctor who returns to his childhood home after it's revealed his lover was married, and is reunited with his childhood friend Taishi. (The first few and final few chapters.) The second story takes place in a restaurant.
Toshishita Danshi wa Mate ga Dekinai
A man runs into his former lover at his sister's marriage interview. And the guy's the prospective groom.
Toiki Yori Mo Yasashii
Two years after a one-night stand during a turbulent time in his life, Akino tracks down the man he'd slept with and takes a job at a cafe he frequents. But since their time together, Kazaoka has become a popular novelist and has come to distrust people's motives for approaching him. And worse, he doesn't seem to recognize Akino. A pleasant story to read before work since it all ends well, but the subplot with the friend who'd been in love with Akino was dropped to allow the main characters to get together, and Akino - while darling - has little personality apart from his love for Kazaoka. The friend was thrown in to cause drama, then pushed out of scene twice by Kazaoka, who is demanding and aggressive - especially when he's the one setting boundaries in the first place. Hopefully everything works out, but listen, Akino, based on my personal experiences, this doesn't exactly bode well. Do reconsider your friend who graciously stepped aside because he wishes for your happiness. Second-to-last chapter oneshot: The importance of communicating your affections to your partner. The final author's note is HILARIOUS. :-D
Kimi Note
The first story is the best: a high school boy becomes intoxicated by the scent of his classmate. Their story makes up the first few chapters. The second story is about two men who reunite at a wedding and begin their relationship again. The second-to-last story is about communication issues between two members of a sports team and how apparently it's cool to beat up your kouhai, but if they defend themselves, that's mean? That relationship won't last long. The final story is about a man who takes in a freeloading sempai he's loved for ages, who actually has the nerve to bring a girl back to the guy's apartment. He doesn't pay rent; he doesn't have his own room. He's just inconsiderate. Really hoping our MC finds someone more worthy.
Ringo ni Hachimitsu
Two stories: As a child, Natsuki saw a gay couple on the beach, and it was his sole notice of them that made him realize he was different. Years later, he returns to the beach with his boyfriend. (There are more chapters about their love, how they met, and a beautiful rainy day at home.) Their story continues in the book Kare No Barairo No Jinsei. The second story is about a man who, fearing the end of the world, reconnects with a classmate he has admired for ten years. Their story is ambiguous, but I believe they will end up together. Some speculated they were the couple Natsuki had seen on the beach, but since their story takes place in 2012, I don't think it's possible given the timeframe and Natsuki's age.
Seinen wa Ai o Kou
Two high-school students realize their feelings are mutual. A man reconnects with his high school's idol on the set of a gay porn video.
Eien no Shichigatsu
Shortly after getting engaged, Tachibana is reunited with a senpai from university, Ryuusuke, who asks to play "couple" for a month.
Hatsukoi
The second couple, two students who rent a room so they can be together, was the only story that really worked for me due to the lightening pace, but the collection is sweet, and I'm happy the apartments will soon have tubs! ETA in 2020: Past!me continues to have strange opinions. On a slow reread, this was cute as heck. The apartment manager and a childhood friend repair a friendship (and walls). Two college grads who live together in secret have to decide if they'll tell their families. A too-kind man who cosigned a bad loan falls for his charming debt collector. And two guys who had hooked up as roommates years before find themselves roommates once again due to some incredible coincidences.
Koiiro Rain
A simple collection of happy stories. The yakuza + launderer was my favorite.
