Sweet Bitter Candy
I liked the first about an overweight boy who admired a classmate and had a misunderstanding at their graduation that is cleared up at a reunion two years later. The others weren't interesting to me. ETA: I liked all of these on re-read. Past!me is a problem.
Boulange no Koibito
A patissier who returns home to run his late father's bakery falls for a novelist who frequently buys his sweet breads. This is fluffy romance with no heartache.
Last Portrait
Two fantastic stories: A young man who dreamed of being an artist but whose father forbid it. He falls in love with his coworker, who is to marry his sister in a week. This has an unexpected and wonderful ending. I was so happy, I cried. (I think about it a lot, so it's in my top 50). An FBI agent is assigned to watch a criminal on death row (and former agent) during the last week of his life.
Almost Paradise
The mayor's grandson from a small town in Hokkaido finds his life changed when a new art teacher joins his school. Ten years later, they reunite in Tokyo. Theirs is the best story of the bunch and has an extra chapter at the very end. Five stars for this story alone. <3 A man recovering from a breakup goes to Berlin on a whim and meets a half German, half Japanese man named Sascha who runs a cafe. A supernatural story about wolves and a mage.
Kamatte Hoshii no?
I almost dropped this after the first story because the pace was so quick, but this was a cute selection of oneshots. The story about the helpless office worker and his neighbor, who helps him learn to take care of himself, was my favorite. It had the best pacing. The others...not so much.
Hana To Usagi
A shy shut-in who wears a rabbit mask to cover his face falls for the delivery man.
Soshite Boku wa Koi wo Suru
A collection of oneshots: the student president (who has a thing for cats) is regularly saved by his friend, a guy in love with his otaku friend (my favorite of the bunch), a man who had forced his friend to have sex gets a second chance (kinda iffy). Quick paces and little build, but it's nice as something to read over coffee.
Sugar Milk
Convenience store clerk falls in love at first sight with a guy who has a dog named Cerberus Hinata lookalike falls for a basketball player Some others Childhood friends have a drunken hookup and finally get together after years of avoiding the topic
Tsumaranai Otoko
Multiple stories. The most touching was about a man who left his job and returned to his hometown after being assaulted and is reunited with a childhood friend he starts dating. Also features coworkers who live in the office dormitories and a guy who is so frugal, he unplugs everything - just like meeeee!
