Our Majesty Has Changed
I Desire You
Youth Journal
This is the author first work and it's was good I especially like the comical ending. _______ This story follows a familiar trajectory within the Korean university romance genre: the FL begins with a crush on her senior, for some reason he's no good. In contrast, the male lead emerges as the genuine romantic interest, offering her the care and stability she truly needs. What distinguishes this work from others in the genre is its tone. The characters maintain a light-hearted, playful dynamic that gives the story a refreshing, comedic charm. The diary referenced in the title makes only a brief appearance, almost like a cameo, before disappearing from the narrative. Interestingly, journaling resurfaces later in the form of unsent letters the heroine writes to herself—a small detail that adds sweetness and emotional depth. The main drawback lies in the pacing. Certain events unfold too quickly, making the chronology difficult to follow. The breakup between the leads, for instance, felt particularly unclear. It was hard to determine who ended things, why it happened, or how they ultimately reconciled, which weakened the emotional impact of that arc. The “villain” senior is another area where the story falters. While his motivations had some potential, his characterization felt underdeveloped and inconsistent. It almost seemed as though the author liked him too much to fully commit to making him a true antagonist. His apathetic demeanor was framed as part of his personality, but it should not excuse the toxic way he expressed his feelings. Worse, his actions carried no real consequences, and the female lead continued to tolerate his presence in her life as though nothing had happened. This lack of accountability made his role feel unsatisfying and undermined the emotional stakes of the story. On the visual side, the art is strikingly pretty—especially notable given that this is the author’s first work. Despite its flaws, the story remains charming, light, and enjoyable. For readers who appreciate classic university romances with a playful twist, it is certainly worth recommending.
