Queen Cecia's Shorts
Ofcourse the manhwa I have avoided like plague because I thought it to be cliche would be the one that satisfied me. Ah~the sorrow. I like the characters so far, the dynamic between the ml and the Empress is so nice to read, the MC and how she functions is also a treat, the princess is so pitiful. I like the story and how packed it is. The art gets better after every read, it feels just right. I love how the artist draws the muscles and the ml is a treat for the eyes. The MC's affection for people and her kindness is admirable tho I selfishly wish it would extend to my fav character whose name escapes me(the second ml). I do like how he bounces right back tho as he is a man of ambition and is resilient. His past is so rich, he is such an amazing man. I like that we got substance from him and he isn't just a pitiful second male lead who got rejected by the MC. He is a merchant after all, it is a given he has thick skin and balls of steel. The Empress is not a character I'm fond of, a well written one I can appreciate but I still dislike. I like the aide, she at first annoyed me but I get where she came from being a woman in those times, she mistook it for molestation and reacted as such. But she is such a good friend, she has such a motherly nature. I like her and the MC's dynamic. I selfishly hoped that the MC would remain single or be a woman who chose the more efficient route but I digress. I felt stuffy watching her be so nonchalant about the whole ordeal with her and the ML. She is very optimistic in pursuing a relationship with a man of such high status. Nigel outing her enraged me, I guess I took it personal. I tend to get immersed in the situations faced by the characters of a work I like so yeah..he got off too easy. Although I think everything is too convenient, like when the couple hits a rough patch, some situation arrive that forces them to reconcile. Man I'm so bitter but I get that we need to move the plot along.
The Maid Wants to Quit Within the Reverse Harem Game
The MC reminds me of Irene from the K-pop girl group 'Red Velvet', how her face is so still and emotionless, her face barely changes and it feels so off-putting somehow. The story itself is a reverse harem, an otome dating game played by the MC before she transmigrated to it. She has lived 7 times in total with this being her seventh life. The og fl Louise is a sweet girl who is naive, clumsy and caring you know the usual tho it is hinted that there is something more to her. The targets are the three brothers, out of which I think the eldest is the most likely ML tho I like the MC's relationship with the other two more. She is very close and shares history with the second brother, yet she dotes on and cares for the youngest like a mother. She has a soft spot for him, I can tell. I like that the second brother and youngest came around to Louise tho they didn't have the best first impression. The eldest is a bit hardheaded. And is there a secret male lead? It kinda was foreshadowed in the earlier chapters and the young MC (past) was helped by him which made her approach the second male lead and formed their conection. I feel like it's one of the two eldest. The story itself is not interesting, the falling trope, the fainting trope etc is overdone in the shoujo sphere. I mean she did look after them for 10 years so their attachment to her is valid, just why now? Was she not as close to them in her previous lives? The art is so very lackluster. The characters feel like statues, maybe it's the colour scheme that bothers me or the angles, their faces do not have any expressions atleast one that is believable. After willing myself to read 17 chapters, I can safely say that I will be dropping this since I gave it a chance and it failed me.
A Fairy Tale for Villains
When this was a promo, I was baited into reading the manhwa because the art was that good! However, after reading through it I became disappointed mainly due to its translation issues and its repetitive plotline with cliches laying abound in every corner of the story. The plot itself is pretty stupid in the first place, how my 16 year old self failed to realise this, I can only blame the lack of originality and truly good content derived from this genre. The MC is straight up dumb, the young lady is a lil bitch tho I got spoiled on her death. That must be why the MC turned to be a villainess. The two brothers, I was made aware that the younger one is the ML. Well deserved. The elder one pissed me off, what with him acting high and mighty because of his nobility status as well as taking the 'leader' role tho clearly not equipped for it and not contributing anything to the table. When he told the MC to know her place, I felt slighted. At least the ML responded appropriately and called him out on his bs. Also the MC blindly following this child's order being much older than him and ignoring the obvious signs was very stupid on her part. I almost screamed "You read the bloody novel!! Think! Dumb bitch!!", Her not coming to the conclusion that they were left to die after knowing the fate of the brothers were irresponsible cuz she admitted to already realising it earlier only denying the reality of the situation because of what? Being afraid? Like Missy!! Why are you so fucking timid and getting pushed around? You might be living in their world but surely that doesn't matter in a life and death situation! Like run out or leave. As simple as that. Honestly it feels like she was made dumb to further the plot and get it to where it needs to be, a trait common among novice authors.
The Runaway Lead Lives Next Door
A cliche reincarnation romance manhwa, that's it. The MC is a D class hunter who used to be C class but got demoted because of an incident. She got hit on the head and remembers her past life, now she expects there to be some perks given to her like in those manhwas with status and whatnot. But she just an extra.. Now I see what this manhwa is trying to do, making her to be the relatable girl who cringes at the side characters corny confessions to the fl. But we all know she'll end up together with the guy she wants to matchmake the fl with so. Will she be dense like the rest of them? A comment said that she was annoying butting into the fl's business left and right, blocking the advances made by the Duke to fit her agenda of returning to a higher position as the ml is her boss' trashy son. I read 2 chapters btw
My Roommate Obsesses Over Me
This feels like a oneshot. It is a manga so the development over 5 chapters is equivalent to a whole 50 chapters in other stories so there's that. There is nothing special or unique about this story and the situation they are in. But that in itself was nice. The seme who used to be a nerd wearing thick glasses with an obsession for the constellations meet the bubbly and extroverted uke who is open and wants to learn more about his interest. The uke went abroad then the seme learned that he liked him all along, flash forward to the present they are now high-schoolers probably(?) and the seme doesn't recognise him rightaway nor does the uke. However, when the uke went on a montage about the stars, the seme's interest was piqued and he asked him how he came to know that. Then uke says it's because of his name and something 'seven' so the seme is aware that he was his childhood friend whom he harboured an unrequited love towards, the seme is delighted then confesses he likes him and attempts to kiss him. The uke runs away then finds out that seme is his roommate and is woken up by a kiss. Now this whole interaction is bizzare to say the least but I have learnt not to ask questions especially in manga and in particular yaoi or shounen-ai. The seme is elated and is super touchy then the uke runs off after he cummed with seme's hands then blah blah figures out he likes him too. Then searches for him only to find out that no-one has seen him recently then he finds him in the rooftop although it said 'unauthorised'. The seme's justification was that it was a perk enjoyed by an honour student. That's not true irl btw..no-one can have access to the rooftop, I have no idea why it is a thing in animes and mangas. Then both confess. Now comes the conflict..people assume that seme is dating a girl which is not true. But uke is jealous because now the once nerdy and geeky seme is no more, what is now in that place is a confident, extroverted and good-looking guy who is very popular with the girls. The uke becomes insecure (mood) and questions their whole relationship and runs away to the park where they met and is in a swing. The seme catches him then they reconcile. They now have their first date and it has to do with stars. An exhibition of some sort is what I gather from it, the seme initiates intimacy by touching his thighs then rubbing his crotch, the uke swats his hands away then the seme sulks. As if hit by an Eureka of some sort, the uke retaliates by doing the same thing. The exhibition now ends. Then the seme grabs his hand and wants to go home since he couldn't hold himself back anymore and wants to give sex. They have sex..although the seme was gentle, something I can't say for other semes in this genre. ~THE END~
Metropolitan Nepenthes
Nah..the seme is a total simp!! I love it!! Unrequited love for 3 years and going strong? That's dedication right there. I like his personality too..he says the funniest stuff as well. When asked if he made any progress over his crush, he replied seriously "I made breakfast for him this morning, so we are basically a newly-wed" and him telling his junior "When you are in love, your facial muscles get messed up" when the junior told him he looked creepy with that smile on his face. The smile he had when he thought about the uke. Also I love how he is so weak to the uke, the way he never even thought of turning him in when he found out his identity as a villain then trying to make him quit even if he had to break a bone or two. He handcuffed him and hit him "very lightly" though he uncuffed him right away after the uke sobbed and told him everything. He even believed that he was blackmailed tho it is true, normally people would be suspicious but not him. And that is so daddy of him...you know what I mean? The boss I thought I would ship him to the uke to some extent but no..there is no competition for the seme. He is abusive and not in a hot way either. That statement right there is so wrong but you know what I mean! There is no sexual tension and chemistry between the two and I like that in hindsight. The uke is a victim in this situation. He was a kid when he was forced into this life, just for stealing chips in a convenient store he was coerced into this life. That is manipulation from an adult towards a kid. Also the sexual favours he makes him do..yuck!! Him saying that the only thing the uke was good at was sucking his dick was such a turn-off. Not to mention the dangerous situation he puts him in time and time again. He is not even doing the bare minimum like preparing a safety net for him to fall into, and his orders are so ridiculous. Telling him to rob the same bank he failed to rob the day before the very next day? That's foolishness and that shows how little he thinks of the uke and his safety. Also the redhead is pitiful being in love with that man? That blondie looked annoyed too when he asked if there was someone he fancied. He just responded "Yeah, a guy with a killer body. He has a nice ass" which by the way is such an asshole thing to say. A nice ass? For u to put your dick in? Fuck u and your narcissism. The redhead's foolishness and insecurity as well as his persistence to see his ass was what led him to the uke's identity being revealed. Though that's a good thing, the seme is a green flag so
What I Decided to Die For
Have read 10 chapters as of now and the chemistry between the leads are undeniable..we can feel that they want eo. The ML seems to be red flags all over but has a thing for the fl supposedly. He initiates contact with her and seems to know a lot about her too from the looks of it. The way he acts is hot tho. The fl is pissing me off, her title as the eldest daughter should be revoked. When she heard from his friend that ML might be involved with her Lil bro bullying (even tho that's not the case), she pays no heed to it. I thought she would get protective and lash out at him or something but reality is often disappointing. She still looks for him 10 years later. Ah..the best friend I adore, so I dropped it. There seems to be a plot twist tho..
Pure villain
The MC is dumb... that's the plot. Really. If the MC was a bit smarter and was normal then the story would be gone. She falls in love easily, being rejected by the guy whom she harboured feelings for a whole three years then she was rescued by the male lead who is the very symbol of a hero, then becomes the next victim for her unrequited love until he likes her, which he will otherwise the light-hearted tone of this manhwa will go up in flames. She also has superpowers and is OP to the extent that the ML is given a leave(?) since she is that much of a threat. Her grandma is cool tho. Also the symmetry thing, could it be any more obvious? 'Death the kid'..it seems like a lousy copy of that iconic quirkiness of that character. Also the half coloured hair girlie that always streams...I wish she would die. That will be fun. At first it was funny how the MC ends up in these misunderstanding prone situations but it's not executed well and it relies on it too heavily to fit my taste. My sister loves it tho so kudos to the author. The memes are funny tho, I came across this for the scene where she broke her handcuffs and bowed while returning it.
No Arguing With Mr. Mo
Wait, who is the top? President Mo or Secretary Xiao? The idea of them being switches is totally plausible too, with the President being a huge tsundere and being a Lil cutie and Secretary Xiao while being outgoing and seems harmless usually, he turns different when he is drunk or during intense moments. Also he was the one who suggested not to talk about the one night stand as well while President Mo was contemplating on what he would say and thought about that moment over and over. Also his Lil sketches are so cute. The gap moe is deadly!! The Lil hamster he named Secretary Xiao cuz he fusses like him, and follows him around. But that's one of the three(four?) conditions he set for him if he wanted the position of his secretary. Which btw is hilariously impossible, be free 24/7, my business is your business, never oppose me, don't wear the same tie (colour)as me and one more, I forgot. But I reckon that's an excuse to strip him. He keeps having naughty thoughts about him to the point he ordered him not to drink coffee with cream cuz he imagined him saying 'lick the cream off my nose, President'..what? FYI I read upto CH10 Welp! It seems our cutie tsundere President is the bottom. He is so cute when he blushes, oh I read upto CH10 but I saw the scenes from the featured thingy. So the guy I thought would be the second ml is a cross-dressing famous tiktoker? And the scene where Mo gives bj to Xiao and Xiao telling him not to be scared of people walking in on them since they were the only one in the office while adding 'Boss' at the end of his sentence. That is hot! Also Mo is so demure and loves Xiao too much so I'm afraid that he will get hurt. Seems like my worry is not unfounded since many comments agree that he deserves better.
