Planned: 2023-07-08 Started: 2024-04-27 Finished: 2024-04-27 One day, a boy contemplates killing by self at the top of the school. Another boy, brown haired, convinces him not to by telling him it’ll be embarrassing because he’ll at most break a leg like the last person who jumped from a floor down to get to lunch early. He gets off from the edge of the rooftop. The brown haired boy asks how the black haired boy even got up here. He explains it’s easy to get the keys. The black haired boy asks the brown haired how *he* got up here. The brown haired boy shows him a tent, explaining he lives there. The black haired boy thinks it’s filthy and cleans it. He comes back the next day to see the brown haired boy, bringing him food some days and water, the others. They slowly grow close and they spend more time together. The black haired boy asks what the brown haired boy is writing— he’s writing a journal with all his dreams and aspirations. He wants to go to Tibet and climb Mount Everest. At school, the black haired boy is found out for being gay and liking a boy in his class. The boy is disgusted and bullies him. The brown haired boy gets food for the both of them during school and goes to see the black haired boy to see he’s being shouted at and pushed by the guy he had a crush on. He stops the fight and the guy accused the brown haired guy of being gay too. To which the brown haired guy uses that to weird the bully out, saying the bully’s his type and licking his hand. The bully runs off scared and grossed out. The two run out. The brown haired guy waits for the black haired to come to his tent later that day. The brown haired said it’s fine that the black haired is gay as long as not for him. They fall asleep together. One day there’s a big storm, a typhoon. The black haired guy gets out of the car instead of going home and the mother is confused. He goes to the roof to see the tent flying away and the brown haired guy there. He’s upset about the tent but glad he saved one thing, the journal. They laugh and fall on each other in the rain and kiss on the ground. The mom was watching with the police and she freaks out. Calling the brown haired boy disgusting and blaming her son for being gay because of him.The black haired guy is super upset that his mom isn’t facing the fact that he’s gay because she wants to keep up appearances. He tries to jump off the roof. The brown haired boy pulls the black haired boy back and in turn, falls off the room himself. He hits a flower bed and survives. It ever since that day, he realized he should put his dreams into action instead of sitting on the roof doing nothing. He goes on to travel just as he wanted to. One day black haired boy watches as the news reports him missing on a snowy mountain hike. He helped someone who fell into a crevice, gave him the journal, and then said until we meet again, never to be seen again. I interpret that as being a message for the black haired boy before he killed himself. The person who was given the journal uses the pictures to find the black haired boy and give it to him. The black haired boy sees all the pictures he never even knew the brown haired boy took. His eyes water over. The end. Just as the last story I had read before this “1866,” it had two boys, one ambitious, the other, cautious and wanting life to be smooth and calm. Ultimately, the one who’s ambitious, in this story that would be the brown haired boy who wished to travel the world, is killed by his own ambitions, leaving the cautious one alone “until they meet again”. I got this from the same list as I got “1866” so I was once again walking in thinking this was going to be gut wrenching and it really wasn’t. It was just unfortunate but because this and “1866” were so short, I wasn’t too attached. Had this been longer, I would’ve been more attached to the characters and their lives. It’s just a shame. Everything in this is just a shame. Just unfortunate. I’ll give this a 3.1.

Started: 2025-05-16 Finished: 2025-05-16 - When he was about to go to a mixture where he'd meet girls he could potentially date, the ml confesses his love to the mc as his childhood best friend. We see how the ml is actually very possessive and has carefully planned everything out since their friendship was young. By the end, the ml's got the mc wrapped around his finger, never knowing how obssessive the ml is. This was actually pretty good 6.7️
