He really went, “She’s crazy and I love it.” Every time she does something he just swoons. Everyone else in that room is horrified but Jevon just sees his beautiful Empress Larcy being lovely. He is amused, impressed, and feeling all those fun tingly feelings you get when you see the person you love. Larcy, you’re doing great. Burn all your enemies, you deserve it. I can’t wait for her to be in love with Jevon. She doesn’t hold deep affections for him but he is still her husband and she’s conscious of that. Once she is on the same level as him and he starts showing his growing affections towards her more, she can find a cozy place next to him where she can love and be loved. Sang is wonderful, I cannot get over how much I love him. After the attack, the mask he was wearing at the beginning makes sense. Before going to the empire, he was neither a friend nor foe to Larcy, but he is beginning to be genuinely loyal towards her. It’s stretching beyond a feeling of solidarity. (Ch 26) Him feeling jealous and then being confused on what that sensation was, top tier. (Ch 28) She’s kicking ass and being super cool, but the fucking random assault rifle. Steam powered boats? No. Automatic weapons? Yeah, of course. Jevon, go rescue your super amazing wife. Make it dramatic so I can forget about the unrealistic placement of a modern gun in this setting. A gun that wasn’t even shot? So why it wasn’t a crossbow or musket, I don’t know. (Ch 36) Larcy getting heated when seeing that Jevon was hurt, was so fucking good. (Ch 50) Lass wants to have sex with her husband but is enjoying him treating her preciously. (Ch 65) He pulled her into his lap! Finally, they are engaging in casual intimacy! (Ch 88) Their matching outfits! The continued casual intimacy! Their shared maniacal laughter! (Ch 89)

Last ch 19.3 Ragna is perfect. My kind of man, brutal, beautiful, doting, and not human. I have the upmost faith in him to protect Musee and her happiness. (Vol 3 Ch 12.1) The slow change of Musee’s eyes brings me an unreasonable amount of joy. She has dragon eyes now! Her eyes match Ragna’s! (Vol 4 Ch 19.3)

Ch 40 So, is this all an extended prologue? Whatever this is, I’m frustrated. (Ch 11) Raymond is great, that man is perfect. Brutal to his enemies but oh so sweet to the ones he loves. I stand by my general sentiment about stories with long openings like this, they aren’t my thing. (Ch 18) I love Raymond, he is perfect and wonderful and he makes me so emotional. It’s becoming hard to care about anything else in this because I want Raymond to be happy more than anything else. Chloe getting Esthel back is second on the list, but even in that Raymond is there with them. The man is too powerful. (Ch 39)

Last ch 48 (Ch 41 is missing) I’m here for Kael Bertrand. Jegman is the wonderful bonus that I got for reading. Like with a lot of adaptations, there are moments where it feels like there is context missing. The question then becomes, is it an issue with the original or did things get lost in adaptation. Like supposedly sparkling trees and what the actual fuck she made that bomb out of. (Ch 21)

Last ch 27 I await the day she brutally kills that bastard. (Ch 5) Boys. (Ch 10) Wilhelm, you’re doing magnificent. Rein, give him everything he wants, he deserves it. (Ch 19) Wilhelm is the only one that matters. This dumb imperial couple can back the fuck off. (Ch 27)

Last ch 38 I came here for porn and I got plot thrown in my face. I underestimated the lengths this was willing to go. This is just suffering on repeat until the world is destroyed. (Ch 38)

Last ch 12 Do I understand why Igor thinks the way he does? Yes. Do I still want to slap him across the face and reprehend him for sexually assaulting Lianan? Yes. Do I think he is more stupid than cute right now? Again, yes. He could be so good. I so badly want to educate him on healthy relationships because the boy clearly has no proper experience in that field. He is an asshole but he is also a victim. Doesn’t excuse his actions but it does mean that he isn’t completely irredeemable, he just has A LOT to make up for before him and Lianan can have a nice married life. Note, looked at the comments because curious, and it’s no surprise to see that he doesn’t improve the way he totally could. I don’t like the set up, more on principle. The whole, I won’t love X this time around, thing is very iffy to me. The statement is almost always followed by them still loving the person. Love is borderline, if not entirely, irrational. Making declarations like that is pointless, it’s as pointless as it is for me to be complaining about it. (Ch 12)

Last ch 57 Veramude is stunning. I adore that man who so casually flirts with Sigrid, and other women it seems. His eyes make me think of Kona every time I see him. He’s my baby. He’s my dumb boy who makes the best expressions and had to leave a ball early because Sigrid kneed him super hard in the stomach. (Ch 31) The boys in this are too much, I’m being spoiled by how cute they all are! Ravis Lunatil is amazing, he has a great relationship with Veramude. When he learns about Sigrid, and the political atmosphere allows for it, he’s going to tease and pester his little brother. Morris has such second male lead energy, he’s so fucking cute but Veramude is just too powerful. Now we have Awin who is such a baby. He’s a prickly kitten who causes trouble to get attention and smacks anyone he doesn’t like. The kid is a character type that is only able to be cute in fiction. Veramude being absolutely adorable goes without saying. I love that man. He wants to be more to Sigrid but also can’t do anything when faced with her sincere smile. (Ch 57)

Last ch 21 (Last better quality ch 6) Adrian Lucas Brandt is great, I love that man. He is so absurd. Brutal, beautiful, and not human. He also loves his daughter so much, he’s a fool and I love it. Warren is a snack, his shirt is too tight, he has pretty purple eyes, and he reminds me of a massive dog. Extremely cute. My favorite subordinate. Mikayla and the blonde one are also pretty funny. Theo is really sweet. A good boy. Bliss, now known as Eleanor, isn’t my favorite. She doesn’t hit right. I don’t know what the fuck is up with this long time skip of an unidentifiable length. Why was it done this way? What has she accomplished over the years? How has her relationships changed or stayed the same? (Ch 21)
