Wholesome and comedic. Only had a passing interest in the second couple at first, but by the end I was very attached tbh. The cringe at the start of the story fades quick when the pretenses are dropped, and everything after that for both couples is clumsy first love and coming-of-age character growth. Art style really fits the setting; 1980s, so rampant homophobia. The whole thing is an emotional roller-coaster. Honestly incredibly heartbreaking toward the end, but has a happy ending.
