Kuroneko Kareshi no Asobikata
First in the Kuroneko Kareshi series. Shingo is a black werecat who uses his cat nature as an excuse for everything and sleeps around at night while working in set construction during the day. That is, until he catches the eye of Kakami Keiichi, the number one actor in Japan and wereleopard, who starts chatting Shingo up and eventually gets him super drunk and basically rapes him. After that, Keiichi doesn't want to let go, so Shingo gives in and allows a physical relationship between them. But when it comes to anything more, Shingo is a stray cat, and he's always ready to run away. I actually love this series and these characters, but I'll be the first to say that the way their relationship starts is the absolute worst and I hate Keiichi for it. They try to retcon it later when they show his POV that Shingo was begging for it (in a different volume), but it's still gross. Still, I think that the series has some beautiful art and really good character development for Shingo, if not Keiichi. Trigger warnings: rape(drunk), manipulation.
Sex Is My Only True Talent
Bon is an office worker in a relationship with top salesman Daiki, but he can't think of anything good about himself, so he assumes Daiki must love him for his phenomenal sex skills. The series shows Bon's efforts to change himself so that Daiki will love him for more than just his slammin' bod. Silly smut. No trigger warnings.
Kuroneko Kareshi no Amaekata
Second in the Kuroneko series. Werecat and construction worker Shingo and wereleopard and actor Keiichi are now dating and Shingo spends every night at Keiichi's place. Shingo is almost scared of how happy he is now that he's let himself be in a relationship for the first time, but when a photographer gets a little handsy with him, Keiichi's jelousy gets out of control. Seeing that Shingo doesn't fully trust him, Keiichi suggests they go back to the beginning and continue as fuck buddies as without a beginning, it'll never end, right? Again, I like this series, but Keiichi's behaviors are bad. Still, Shingo is really cute as a cat in this one. Trigger warning: abusive behaviors.
Kuroneko Kareshi No Nakasekata
Third in the Kuroneko series. Shingo and Keiichi are now an established couple, and while they're being lovey-dovey, Keiichi suggests they move in together, with Shingo giving it a hard pass. Keiichi insists, and Shingo has to work through all his hangups about living together, and fast, because Keiichi already has an apartment for them. A fairly quick, sweet interlude for the couple with no major conflicts. Trigger warning: manipulation.
Wakeari Omega wa Nige no Itte
Arata and Mahiro Trigger warning: sex work, dubcon (heat).
Ore wo Mite
Ch.1-6 - Kyousuke has been in love with his older childhood Saku since they first met, back when he thought Saku was a girl. Just as he's approaching his high school graduation, he confesses to Saku, and Saku is thrilled, immediately agreeing to break things off with his other sex friends and be Kyousuke's alone. After one perfect date, they start to get intimate, and Saku suddenly changes his mind, abruptly ending things between them. Two years later, they go to the same college and Kyousuke still can't forget Saku. It turns out Saku rejected Kyousuke because he can't get over his traumatic past. But is he doing to Kyousuke the same thing that was done to him? No, but the push is enough to get him to move past his fears, at least. This is an interesting story and Saku's character is interesting and well written, but he has a truly tragic and upsetting past, so do be mindful of the trigger warnings and don't read if that's upsetting to you. Trigger warnings: child abuse, statutory rape, manipulation. Ch. 7 - Sagara is a high school model who used to do basketball, and one day he's approached by Nogi, an underclassman who seems disappointed he stopped playing. Sagara finds out that Nogi saw him play once and really admired him, and this starts their friendship that quickly turns into something more. A very cute friendship that turns to love story. No trigger warnings.
Gozou Roppu no Koi
Ichiro is a restaurant owner who can't help but be annoyed by the group of boisterous hosts who come in as customers late most nights, especially the leader of the group, Seiichi. But when Seiichi steps in to help Ichiro with his jerk ex boyfriend, the two start to become friends. Meanwhile, Seiichi's life as a host is about to change in a big way, and he starts to realize maybe he can find a new life beside Ichiro. Not the most compelling story, but a very cute couple with no red flags, so I liked that a lot. Trigger warnings: attempted rape, attempted forced prostitution
Futari de Papa Hajimemashita more
Sequel to Futari de Papa Hajimemashita, Nogi and Aoyama are now in love and taking care of the very cute Tsumugu together. Aoyama's new neighbor happens to be another single dad with a son Tsumugu's age, and the two become fast friends, but Aoyama is wary of the other single dad's motives when he admits to being bisexual and says he'd take better care of Aoyama than Nogi. But ultimately, both Aoyama and the other single dad have to realize it takes a village to raise a child, but they do have a village supporting them. Cute continuation of a very sweet couple. No trigger warnings.
My Boss is the Irresistible King of the Night
Kusumi is a shy, gay man who has always had a crush on his handsome boss, Inukai. But when he finds out that his boss is actually the "irresistable king of the night," known in the gay district for making everyone fall for him, he's so shocked and embarrassed, he runs. But when Kusumi ends up spending the night at Inukai's house and lets it slip how he feels, Inukai decides to go for it and show him he's serious this time. Very quick, and the art style wasn't really for me. No trigger warnings.
