Ikenie Akujo no Shiroi Kekkon - Mezametara 8-nengo, Katsute wa Goei Datta Koushaku-sama no Dekiai ni Naremasen!

Ongoing | Ichibu saki | 2022 released

I plainly do not understand why people are so hung up that she refers to him as her little brother. It isn't the same trope as other stories because he was never adopted into her household. If you pay attention, the story says he was brought into her household to become her GUARD! He was trained in swordmanship and other noble areas to support her as the heir to her house. The reason SHE viewed him as her little brother was probably because he was A) younger than her and B) the only one on her side since her parents died. If you could also recall the premise of the plot, she tends to attract other men due to her innate abilities (which I don't like this for world-building but I digress. I believe this is a bigger issue for disucussion). Therefore, why would she see him as a man??? I think that is stranger. Therefore, she removes herself from that situation based on false pretenses and we flash forward 10 years (including when she was helped and scored a job with the merchant guild). Only then, does she reunite with Til, who I believe she loved. Her love wasn't neccessarily romantic nor familial. It was an innocent and raw emotion that will now blossom within their close-proximity plot due to the contract marriage. It's obvious that this is a fated lovers plot. Therefore, she still refers to him as her little brother because, for her, he is still that child. However, now, she notices how handsome and manly he is and repeats it to avoid confronting her feelings on the subject matter. As I said, her mind is still stuck in the past as she now needs to rediscover their relationship. Of course, she is naive when it comes to her love life and is dense that Til loves her. Til has been in love with her because she gave him warmth, unconditional love, respect, and whatever else for the first time. She truly was a good person and he loved her. He never gave up searching even after all those years and came up with the "contract" to remain faithful to his love. Of course, he would be obsessed and not want to let her go in fear of losing her again! I find this quality endearing as I'm getting sick and tired of these cold and indifferent MLs. It's nice to know he cares and is willing to fight to win her heart and attention, especially knowing the hardships she's already faced. Also, let's think about their relationship for a second. She did not know Till that well (obviouly she would've known about his connection with the Duke household otherwise). So, they were never given the chance to really get to know one another before they were separated and then reunited. (Although in childhood friend arcs, best friends typically know everything about each other and only now it's weird? Again, they were never siblings! Make it make sense!) Furthermore, she has distanced herself from men and love due to her trauma. Why would her first instinct be, "oh, he's hot and manly I think I'm in love him?" Or, that she never saw him as a child (which would be a problematic viewpoint)? He has clearly been in love with her, only she has implied this "little brother" perspective. Again, the FL never raised him, they were never step/blood/adopted siblings, kind of grew up together (to those of saying that this is weird gtfo because childhood friend arcs exist), and, before anything happened, she sacrificed herself. Now, they are both clearly adults (she was 16 when she disappeared so they were both children to those trying to make it seem like she was an adult prior?-like, let's do math for a sec.). Sorry, for the rant, but this has a pretty solid plot, great art, and likeable characters. Sure, it's not perfect, but let's get some facts straight. This isn't an incest plot.
