We follow the monk and his spider companion on their journey through historical Japan as they confirm their feelings of love for one another and come to terms with their heritage.

I feel like Tatsumi-san might be autistic. He's got no common sense, he has difficulty understanding social cues, he tends to question social norms (why is ... like that), he's never been taught how to have a normal social relationship only being scolded when doing something 'wrong' and being labeled a troubled child because of it, he has a habit of collecting things and difficulty controlling his anger, as well as a difficulty reading other people's emotions.

The four stars is for the fact the adult fell in love with a literal child and wrote a book about it that somehow became a best seller. It kind of reminds me of Marte, except with a significantly bigger age gap.

light angst/hurt balanced out by a nice amount of fluff/comfort, the way they grow closer and fall in love seems very natural, it doesn't feel rushed
