The power that alphas have in this world is nightmare fuel...omegas are limited in who they can choose as their life partner to elite alphas only-- per govt decree, and they are rounded up and institutionalized at an impressionable age into an 'omega school/ prison' where they are taught that their purpose is to breed and they will no longer belong to themselves..ie have their own personal identity... once bitten. I guess the question we have to ask ourselves is are the omegas being treasured in this verse or oppressed all to hell? And I know the Alpha was a child too when he made the mark so the author wants us to excuse him for pushing himself on our tiny MC but even kids know right from wrong. Our poor MC never had a choice and never will for his partner in life, even if he were to fall in love with a different Alpha. The only way I can see this being fluffy going forward is if it's the marking alpha who is the dependent one.
