This Can't Be Love

Ongoing | Singnanda | 2000 released

Actually pretty funny, but sometimes crossing the line. However, the dynamic between him and the uke is pretty different in the fact that I feel like the seme respects his personality (though not his boundaries). Despite being omegaverse, this is pretty good. ~ Chapter 8 Update: Mmm...chapter 7 was a little off. I'm gonna keep reading it though, but I don't like the creepy, possessive stuff and the promise of violence if something "wrong" was done.

Three Men, One Chinchilla

Ongoing | Dobeot | 2000 released

~ Chapter 13 currently Truly a laugh out loud situation. What a weird setting to be part of...with such odd people ha ha ha. I never knew that you could communicate with some chinchillas by holding its pellets.

I actually really liked this one! There is the whole gamut of omega verse tropes (where the uke is repeatedly vulnerable to assault, which is sad to say that is a trope, one that I hate), but I liked their personalities. I think the seme is truly vulnerable without disrespecting his partner, while the uke is kind of doing his own thing, dancing to the beat of his own drum. I don't think they would have ended up together in real life (minus the omega verse, with their personalities the same as they are), but I liked the healthy dynamic between the two of them.

We Are Not Friends

Ongoing | Zhi Wu Ah | 2019 released

Ooooh! I like the back and forth chemistry between them (sort of a love-hate situation, and an unwanted-yet-unavoidable relationship for -- if we have to put them into boxes -- the 'seme'). Dang -- the drummer definitely, definitely gets underneath the director's skin. Ha ha ha, I'm looking forward to it :p

Furachi na Boku o Aishitamae

Ongoing | Machida Tomato | 2000 released

What an odd dynamic...I first thought the manga was going to fall into usual tropes, but it surprised me. I thought the point of him saying that he had different values than society was important and interesting... and who's to say that you can't see something new in yaoi, but I like how the seme completely had a newfound respect for the uke. In these types of situations, what ends up happening is the seme disrespects the uke and finds his behavior 'degrading' and 'shameful,' which in my opinion is stupid because nobody in this scenario has a steady, monogamous partner. I'm looking forward to the rest of the chapters ~ Summary: An ordinary mail officer ends up having sex with a complete and utter weirdo during his shift, who uses sexual experiences for his erotic material in his books. I liked the concepts of him being not okay with it, but also not disrespecting the person who he ends up having sex with. ~Chapter 2

Two sports players (from different professions) come head-to-head in this absolute hilarious sports manga. They instantly don't get along when they first meet each other, the boxer assuming things about the basketball player and firing the first shot, the basketball player responding in kind. They slowly come around to hanging out with each other, when the basketball player kisses the boxer all of a sudden. What will come out of this inexplicable relationship? ~Chapter 3

Weekly Boys' Dating Agency

Ongoing | Bak Shi In | 2000 released

Yikes, this had a much heavier premise than I expected. Yes, it is about five boys under one roof who are dealing with their love lives, but how they got there is tragic (and decently dealt with by the author). All of their parents were friends, and when they all went on a trip together, they died. The five of them ended up living together under the charity (though still with some catches) of their landlord, who want them to live in a more pious manner (or they'll all be kicked out if a single person is caught breaking the rules). The main character, who has never fallen in love, seeks to straighten up his fellow tenants and make sure none of them gets caught by the landlord. ~Chapter 22

Two friends-but-not-really-friends, neighbors all the way from elementary school to college, suddenly body-switch. They don't understand why at first, but hear a rumor that if you break someone else's name at the same time they break yours, they will body switch with you. Only love can break the curse! P.S. Everybody knows that something is up (ha ha ha, it's nice that the author is making the other characters not the most idiotic) with the two of them, in terms of not acting like themselves. ~Chapter 8

- Rude words from her in chapter 44 :( Summary: Classic Wuxia, Chinese novel where the heroine, obviously from the 21st century, gets time-traveled back into a different ancient world's body, where she generally avenges the former owner of said body (who has been abused and derided by society). She has a lot of skills up her sleeve, including the strange talent of attracting literally all the important and powerful men in this society. I actually really liked it, but the amount of people who are head-over-heels in love with her is ridiculous. Also, the Kylin is cute (looks-wise). ~Chapter 86
