From Today On, I’m a Boy
Main character is great, but why is everyone a psychopath at this school? Really so confused, but I'm loving the fact that the main character is extremely empathic as well as tough. Edit: I'm not sure why she keeps lying to her billion-won friend, even though things could get serious and she'll need her friends now more than ever. Shiru, hottie of the year, makes a bet with her childhood friends that she could pass for a guy throughout high school. For a billion won, because one of her childhood friends is as rich as Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg put together. She and her billion-won betting childhood friend transfer to her other childhood friend's school, but there are some people out to get her -- how will things end up? Edit: Chapter 60- Everyone finds out her secret. ~Chapter 68 (last chapter)
Unintentional Love Story
A nice salaryman at a high-end company gets caught up in a scandal (one hundred percent not his fault), only to be told that he'll get his job back IF (and only if) he signs a famous reclusive potter to his company. Little did he know that his target -- the reclusive potter -- is a hottie and proceeds to fall in love with him. It's a little bit more complicated and nuanced than my description, but it's a wonderful slow-burn romance -- and the nice salaryman is truly conflicted about the lie that brought him to this person in the first place, but has a hard time telling the truth once they get together. 5/5 for warmth, humor, and depth. Chapters 30 through 38 He's the worst!!! He dragged out a daytime drama into a long, long saga, and I am not here for it *makes devil face emoji* He should have just TOLD the freaking dude! I know the other dude messed up, but there's a point where you just feel sorry for him (especially after the boss changed his mind about what happened and forgave Wonyoung). Don't drag out the drama!!! Just say how you FEEL!!!!! Oooh, Taejoon asked WonYoung to live with him. ~ Chapter 58
Burns
I agree with the last two comments about this manga. The level of clarity the uke has about how psycho the seme is is fantastic (because the character has clarity, not because he’s the uke), and his way of getting under the seme’s skin was perfect because of his perfect analysis. I really thought the seme was going to lock the uke inside his house. Unfortunately, can’t say that’s never happened in a yaoi manga. ~Chapter 5
Backstage de Aimashou
This about to get hot hot hot. A rising star in the film industry gets drunk and has sex with a famous actor who he admires. That actor wanted to know what it would feel like to be held. Both have mixed feelings about what happened, and both seem genuinely kind in certain ways (not trying to blame the other, for the most part), the rising star concerned about the established star. This is where their story starts. ~Chapter 1
Blue Period.
Kid who has a lot of talent, a high school student "leveling up" through life, suddenly wakes up to the sound of his fellow classmate's art. He's always known that he's going to get a good government job, study hard and play it safe the way his mom wants him to, but that was before his eyes were turned to art. It made him feel alive for the first time, and although he had tried to suppress the feeling based on practicalities, he decides through the middle of high school to aim for an art school. This is his story. Lots of drawings, great character development, art galore, and practical techniques, this manga is almost a life-lesson and an art class wrapped in one. Chapter 25 -- Entrance exam results for Gedai ~ Chapter 54
Sanju Mariko
An older lady who's feeling ignored by her own kids, crowded in her own house, not sure of her direction in life despite being an author runs away from home and sets out on a new adventure. This manga is about the ups and downs of getting older, and the beauty in starting a new adventure. No matter what age you are, you are never too old to experience the joy and curiosity of life. Due to the risk she takes, she ends up finding something wonderful in the most unexpected places. ~ Chapter 26
Hibari ga Naitara Tsukamaete
Former best friends Shimura and Enomoto meet after six years apart. When they were fourteen, the former moved away suddenly, and the latter kept wondering why he never said anything...only for them to suddenly meet up in college, where Enomoto is a student. Enomoto keeps trying to hang out with Shimura after seeing him in one of his classes, but Shimura has a lot of reluctance to. Why? Enomoto has no idea, but Shimura just wishes that they had never met again. ~Chapter 4.5
Cloudburst
Uke is a shoe designer and the seme is a sempai-turned-enemy who apparently (and we don't know if this is true yet) spread rumors about the uke being gay at the college they were studying at, which drove the uke to try and commit suicide. He obviously survived, but hates the seme for that very real reason. Uke has a lot of talent, and it's probably the reason that the seme chose to hire him at the seme's newfound company... Edit: Hmm...there's an art-style change (and a mood change along with it) and I don't think I like it... [from chapter 20 to chapter 21] ~Chapter 63
LULLU LALLA BLUES
Basically, two guys get drunk at a party with a bunch of other guys, only for the seme (Kye-sung) to wake up and find out that he slept with the uke (Min-Shik), the brother of the guy whose house they hosted the party. The seme doesn't know what to do, and the uke tells him (after they wake up the next day) to "jump out a window." Seme tries to deal with it in his head and to his friends, only to tell them what happened over drinks. Now everybody knows what happened between the two of them; will they both resolve the matter, or will they let the issue fade into obscurity? This story has a surprisingly nuanced take on certain matters, including what it means to be gay; figuring out what it takes to be truly selfless about an issue involving you; and how sometimes prejudice/discomfort about certain topics works, and how they are sometimes two different things. HOWEVER, I don't like the lie in which all of this came about; the character goes so far as to imply that another character forced him and created an elaborate ruse for something so serious, which I don't approve of. ~Chapter 20
