I can tell this is adapted from a novel bc there's plot and intrigue, I really enjoyed this! There weren't crazy plot twist or incredible moments, but I really appreciated how smart and resourceful Jun Qing is and how the MC comes to rely on him more and more. It has some tropes it could've done without (mainly the initial rape and the MC being very insistent on having sex) but I've seen worse and I still found the story enjoyable. I have a weak spot for "you underestimated me but I'm actually strong" and Jin Qing fits this trope, with the added bonus of the MC discovering that the one he treated badly is actually better than he deserves. Good, interesting backstory and characters. The pacing was well done

It's been a while since I've read such an interesting BL! So many of them have a fantasy theme but focus so much on the romance that the plot is barely there. Here, while it's clear that every ML has a reason to pursue the MC, it's all in the background while Maythan struggles with the world he's currently in. It's also interesting that he only knows the final part of the game he's living through and that he really wants to return to his old world. The fact that Shae seems a réincarnée as well is super intriguing and someone said she could be Maythan's sister, which would be very nice. Overall I can only complain there isn't a second season yet.
