ML used FL to get the throne, after he became king, he immediately divorced FL and told her that he never loved her and only used her to get to the throne. FL is heartbroken and left but FL didn't realise that she is pregnant with ML's child. Years later, her little boy grew up with red eyes (which is unique only to royalty). One day, ML (already king) came looking for FL due to some conditions for inheritance, in order to hide the emperor's son, FL used herbs to change her son's eyes to be blue. Initially ML suspected that child is his, as the child looks exactly like him. But when FL said the child is her nephew, and when he saw the child's blue eyes, he had to put away his suspicions.
