Finished : damn that was the best thing ever holy this made me feel things, my heart wrenched at so many points it's kinda a record; teared up at some parts. So well written, the characters, the plot, the back stories, just everything. Something that i thought of mid way was that I don't think I've even seen an abused fl in a story like this (romance fantasy) where she didn't either regress, reincarnation, or transmigrate. Correct me if I'm wrong though. For now i just can't think of any. Anyways what else to say about this, i already praised everything about this. I love the fl and the ml and their chemistry, their very multi dimensional characters and i really enjoyed their relationship progression. Also the tinges of regret, hurt feelings, ANGST, ugh it was so good, i had to stop and take a moment to breathe every time it made me feel. Regarding the plot what's there to say other than it was really good (lack of vocabulary showing). Even though almost the entire 70+ chapters happened within the span of a few days, weeks if I'm being generous, it didn't feel like it was dragging at all. Honestly, at one point i self reflected and admired my ability to not get bored of this lol. Unline many others I've been reading that bored me half to death that i had to drag myself to get through; i guess this is how it's supposed to feel when you are enthralled by a story. I'll miss this. Also the mystery aspect of this kept me on my toes too, really a subversion of expectations (aka plot twist lol), it was so intriguing I actually stopped myself from looking at spoilers this time even though i usually jump at them first thing (usually i do that cuz I'm bored or anxious about a story) The pacing of this was really good too with jow they slowly but surely reveal everything and let you mull on it. Anyways point is, it's really good. (Btw while reading this i was totally connecting it to Ratiorine cuz this setting totally fits them as well as their personalities and dynamic. Like with aventurine as the prisoner (with sad backstory and angst) and ratio as the commander (but he wouldn't be a commander but you get my point). The brainrot was real while reading this i swear.) - Rosén Walker was jailed for murdering her husband at the age of 17. Having crushed the pride of the Imperial Army with two jailbreaks, she is captured again a year later and is sentenced to life imprisonment. THIS WAS ACTUALLY SO GOOD OMG. I'm not getting over this i swear (i prolly will but figure of speech yknow) Anyways it's about this guy, a teacher getting killed and a mad scientist (or so he looks like at first) picking him up and resurrecting him with science (don't ask, idk). Point is i love their development and i especially love the scientist guy, he's unexpectedly cute ngl. He lookin like a balding old man but imagine my surprise when he's younger than the mc(??????) (okay just by a few months but u digress). Also his backstory and flashbacks really fleshed out his character a lot; he went from a mad scientist lunatic to a guy (still kinda mad and scientist) with a troubled past (seriously an understatement that shit made me so sad for him) that just wanted to save his crush (don't @ me i may be delulu but it's true). My favourite scene was the part where he saw him years later and was rehearsing ways to talk to him while stalking him in his car. That was honestly so cute but made me so sad cuz it showed what could've been if all that never happened; if the guy never got killed maybe that could've just had an awkward reunion, that blossomed into love and live happily ever after. That said the fluff they gave me was still really good, i ate it all up they were so fucking cute. ANYWAYS i would also like to appreciate the philosophy in this. Idk if it counts but their conversations about mortality, and if it's okay to kill people if they're POS, and eat them for survival because that's the circle of life and all beings die in the end anyways. Neither of them really have a set moral compass, it kinda evolves and changes based on the circumstance and who's involved (like how mc was originally against killing but caved since he needed to eat but was still hesitant about it, to being all for it when he found out the guy was shit to the scientist guy( sorry i already forgot your name even though it hasn't been a day)) and how even though the scientist guy seemed really nihilistic (idk what else to describe him as i could be wrong) and pessimistic on human behaviour (rightfully so) and seemed so adamant about it it seemed like he was a psycho or at least a sociopath, by the end you can kinda tell it was actually a coping mechanism to rationalize his past and trauma (like when mc apologizes he says its human nature and he would've done it too). He's also not really a psycho or anything since at first he was actually scared when it came to actually murdering someone (though by the end they both kinda got used to it but I'd chalk that up to the human adaptive ability). Ugh i prolly have more to say (I was already thinking about this in the bathroom) but i forgot so that's all ig lol. Point is this was so good so cute and so sad.

Ch. 56.5 not 35 ACTUALLY HILARIOUS. It's kinda one sided rn but it's just so good otherwise I'd give it a pass. I really like the look into jinyeong's thoughts cuz he kinda relatable ngl (a bit too relatable actually who gave a author permission to read my thoughts /j) a bit irked he's not over his past love but again this is so good i forgive it. Honestly even if you(i) don't read it for the romance the comedy is enough to suck me in.

Ch. Extra end T_T Suuuperrr duuuupperrr cuteeeeeee i love the sm. Was kinda hesitant to read this but seeing it was completed and the rave reviews i thought why not an ohhh boy it was the best decision yet!! I seriously can't get over them you don't understand I've been sitting on this for the past hour cuz it's so good. Like, i just can't go back to bland and boring couples anymore after this whatever shall i doooo Okay so the main reason i was on the fence on reading this was 1) the rating(9.1 rn, deserves so much more like a 9.4 AT LEAST), 2) the top bottom discourse; cuz i thought it was going to be one of the dynamics i dislike (i was so wrong on that, i don't even know what i expected), guess i thought it was gonna be a pushy bottom and tsundere top? Tbh it kinda is but it's also not. The cover honestly didn't help it's case. Hmm what else i lost my train of thought on this.. Well anyways the things i LIKE: Well, glad you asked cuz EVERYTHING. I love their dynamic; I don't even know how to describe it without it sounding generic as hell but i swear it's so good ahhsjdj. It literally shapes up to be a typical stoic germaphobe x flirty yet shallow Playboy dynamic but the the seme is anything but stoic and so honest with his feelings it was actually so surprising, he's also not emotionally constipated which is honestly a first of his kind, like he knows and feels bad when he hurts the uke's feelings, and apologises when he does. Ik that's like bare minimum but most seme's are at rock bottom lol. He also says things he means, my favourite parts were when he'd tell the uke he finds him hot or sexy doing something when during sex, it's sooo cuteeee esp the uke's reaction. He also goes to therapy for his germaphobia, once again unheard of lol. I like how he accepted he had feelings for the uke once he realised them, and didn't try to deny it or rationalise it, and also thought of how they should proceed with their relationship moving forward, which shows his sincerity. He's also not arrogant or cocky despite his position, and I'm saying this cuz a lot of semes in his position are (cough cough no moral) and have friendly relationships with his colleagues and is honestly pretty friendly yet professional overall. The only time i took issue with his personality was literally the first chapter where he kicked the uke out but he apologised for that and never did it again so it's ok. He's honestly just such a green flag I'm just ughhhh Anyways moving on to the uke: HE'S JUST TOO CUTE AHHHHHHH I LOVE HIM SM I'M GOING CRAZYY. He's so freaking adorable but me only gushing about this may make it seem like that's all he is but I SWEAR, I'm not just talking about appearance it's how he thinks, how he talks, how he behaves that's so adorable, also his laugh. Another subversion of expectations in that he starts out like a slutty playboy who gets around and just wants to fuck, but he's actually very genuine when he likes someone, and so caring and attentive. The way he cares for the seme, worrying about him not eating so he gives him his homemade sandwich is SO CUTE. (And sorry to interject in the uke's part but the seme honestly praising his food is SO appreciated) Also the way he brings flowers for the seme during dates (also the seme saying he likes it ahhhh I'm so not used to honesty) so cute. I like how he consults his friends about it crush too even though they don't always give the best advice (like thank god he didn't go through with getting with the rival to make him jealous GOD), I don't usually like them playing hard to get for no reason but it's funny how the seme immediately falls for it ( and again, asks if anything is wrong almost immediately LIKE no other seme could EVER). Even the conflict that made them blow up and the seme confess was honestly so well done, because it wasn't anyone's fault, it was just an unfortunate turn of events that could be fixed by just talking, which they did(albeit in a fight, in the middle if the street, but i digress). Just. Ugh. I love them. Idk there might be more i haven't yapped about but i think it's enough, you should get what i mean. If you do, or don't, just read it again (nts). Also adding on, i like how they call him a custodian, honestly had to look up the meaning but it just sounds so much better than cleaner or janitor. They actually interact with him like any other employee and i think that's great. There's so many other stories where they just demean or disrespect the cleaners and I'm glad it didn't happen here. Oh, lastly, i love they start out knowing and are secure with their sexualities so that plotline can be thrown out the window. Oh also also this may be a futile wish but i just WISH there was more about their lovey dovey everyday life yk, ik I've been fed but thirty chapters isn't enough;-;

But i just saw a spoiler for the novel that kinda ruined this for me, hopefully they change it here or else I'll be so pissed at the mc for this; apparently he was propositioned and actually considered cheating for a hot sec, and I honestly find that unacceptable. Sure he's a selfish rude asshole at heart, but cheating is where i draw the line, even considering it means he's not entirely faithful. Just, ugh. Pray it doesn't get adapted here. . I NEED MOREEEEEE This is actually so good. I had so much to yap abt this ngl but I kinda forgot since i procrastinated this review oops. It's just really good what can i say. It kinda left on the worst cliffhanger tho so pls update again soon i beg. It's so good I'm actually tempted to read the light novel but I'll wait for the manga for now ig. Maybe one day tho since the light novel probably has more details. The manga(aka this) is already super good tho i love the visual storytelling esp compared to the anime. Like i watched a clip of the anime and compared to that same scene in the manga and the manga is way better gotta say. It really portrays the character's feelings way better. And honestly i like the manga art style the most so i may he biased. I really like the main character and how he's written. I relate tho not to his extent; the way he wears a mask when dealing with others, but when he's himself he's rude and sloppy. I like the way he's characterised, you can really understand his character from the writing, and kinda analyse why he feels and does things. If i can understand a character to that extent i consider it great writing, other times characters are either shallow or are inconsistent and confusing. I love picking apart his character, the way he's hard working but looks down on others, the way he denies his faults because he doesn't want to admit he's wrong and thinks he's always right because otherwise he'd lose himself, how he's already losing himself with the way he masks so much, how he starts off happy his lies worked but now that he actually cares he's frustrated that his lies are being treated as truth, the way he's jealous of himself because he feels that the ml only likes his mask and not his real self. Just, everything about this is so good. He's flawed, but not in an insufferable way. Okay that's it i think i got my point across(or maybe not cuz it's just incoherent yapping lol) but I really freaking like this. It made my heart clench reading his inner turmoil. It's so good.
