What It Means to be You

Ongoing | Lee Bora,Ranyong, Ocean | 2000 released

Violet Winter Ash Shanon/Feron Hayel Ahhhhhh I loved this so much. The concept is so beautiful and deep, tackling the topics of self harm, depression, and suicide, then blooming into a beautiful story about two individuals growing to love eachother and themselves. I love that although Violet was never weak, she was finally given the support she truly needed to flourish. She has now grown to be so confident and self-assured. She never showed biasness nor discrimination, and used her time as royalty to bridge the gap between the royals and the common people- truly an admirable ruler. She had to endure so many hardships, it was hard to read, but her growth has made it such a beautiful story... Winter, though he still resorts to money as a ways of showing his affection, has also grown so much.. Once he made it clear that he worked so hard to amass a wealth fit for a princess, it was clear he DID have some feelings for Violet, but found it hard to express verbally. I think his relationship with Violet has really opened him up to accepting people's good intentions and respect for him, and not everyone is secretly against him. Their character developments were truly beautiful. Eventhough Ash didn't receive the punishment he should have for all the messed up stuff he did, I'm glad he's now gonna be subjected to the same cruelty of mistreatment from your in-laws that Violet did... He no longer holds a high status, and is completely reliant on his in-laws now, but they hate him... that was satisfying :3 I'm a bit mad that Winter's parents never met their punishment but oh well, not everything has to be satisfyingly resolved. Also I fucking love Hayel.. he's so fine. Overall, the concept of bodyswitching whenever one kills themselves is such an interesting concept; and the reveal was BEAUTIFUL. So beautiful I had to tell Dippy about it. And I'm glad the bodyswitching did end up coming in good use multiple times, but the manner of how they switch is so dark, so it makes the reveal just so CINEMA ahhhhh. I was holding my breath when Violet knew how to switch bodies, but Winter was constantly pressuring her to switch bodies, and later he was subjected to the same thing when he pretended he had found a different way to switch bodies aside from suicide, because he didn't want Violet to know he killed himself... Everything is just so wow..

Canola Edel Tibouchina Ainu, Radaq, Rome, Tugal, Ulan Lady Vidium/ Diraz Yooo I loved this. There wasn't really a "final battle" like I thought there would be, but I'm still happy for them. I love Canola so much, she's such a lovable heroine who makes everyone gravitate towards her just with her good intents and good read on people. She instantly warms the heart of the seemingly cold Husa (Edel), and make him able to act more like his true self in front of her. I think I subconsciously also fell in love with Edel at first sight... he's just my type... But him always putting Canola first, then when she gave birth, his first instinct was to check on Canola, that fucking warmed my heart. They're so cute together and endured a lot to be together. The Husa's guards also bring an added comedy to it all, and shows there's people that care about Husa around him. I do like them all very much cus they warmed up to Canola really quickly, eventhough Radaq doesn't want to admit. I really like Diraz (not his real name. Canni remember), and his elder sister Vidium. They seem like harsh people, but they greatly care about those around them. They're very stubborn, which definitely means they're siblings, but they also love very easily. I really love themmm. Im also glad Tibouchina ended up being just a really kind person through and through. I thought she would end up betraying Canola, but Canola didn't give her any reason to doubt her intentions, and they grew to be besties, ending the hatred between the royals and the temple. I loved this manhua so much. I can't wait to see more of the new child!!
