The Ruthless Caleb Wilde (The Wilde Brothers 2/3)
Romantic Cure for Gynophobia
Yichen has gynophobia and he can't stand being close to women, so he offers Shaoqi, a server he meets at a café, to pay his debts in exchange for him to pretend to be his boyfriend. But he doesn't know that Shaoqi is actually a woman (but he is confortable with her since he doesn't see her as a woman). Shaoqi accepts but finds herself falling in love with him, but she is afraid of being rejected since Yichen has gynophobia. Yichen's brother knows that Shaoqi is a woman but he leaves her be since he belives that she might be able to cure Yichen's gynophobia. Yichen's friend (who is also Shaoqi's boss) also kind of figured it out. We learn later that Yichen didn't choose Shaoqi for no reason : they are actually childhood friends. They were very young, and back then Shaoqi saw herself as a boy, and she thought that "little Chen" was a girl (probably why she didn't recognise him), and she proposed to her. They lost contact suddenly (probably an accident, maybe Shaoqi's parents died ?). While drunk, Yichen kissed Shaoqi and asked her why she never called him and if she remembers their promise. Shaoqi thinks he mistook her for someone else, so she is heartbroken. One of Shaoqi's childhood friends, An, a guy who enjoys dressing as a woman, is back in the picture. There is jealousy in the air.
