Hanatte Okenai Aitsu ni Tsuite
Collection of cute stories. They were ok. I mean, I liked them (especially the first one), but the second and third stories were nothing special and they all needed some continuation anyway, except for the last one that was was an extra of another manga. > Note: The first two stories are Shounen Ai and the last two Yaoi. Ch. 4-5 - Extras of: Ijiwaru Shinai de
Yagate, Ao Ni Naru
️5 stars for the main|title story! I really liked the way it was written...so good! Est Em's stories are always unique, not only for the art style but also for the concepts and the writing style, and I love that! Here, the theme of traditional indigo dyeing was very interesting. And I liked how the conflicted feelings of the two protagonists were portrayed. Their feelings could really be felt. As I love family-affair stories, I really liked this. By the way, I liked the quote about dyeing which was used as metaphor for their feelings and relationship. I also liked the parallelism of the parts about their respective "returns": first when Taisei returns home, as we see better in ch. 6, Kouta is inside and sees him through the window and calls out his name; then when in the end Kouta is the one returning home, Taisei is the one inside and seeing him calls his name. An impressive story, as expected from sensei. Too bad that here it's so criminally underrated!️ # Brother x Adopted Brother (Kouta's mother died when he was little. Then, when his father died, he was taken in by Taisei's family, as his father was working and living at their dyeing studio.) [[Ch. 7 & 8 are two unrelated oneshots included in this volume respectively called "Swim, Drown, Swim" and "Snow Falling Silently" // I honestly didn't care for these two short stories. Ch. 7 was not my thing and ch. 8 was not bad but it was just a peek at a couple of roommates on a snowy day. They weren't even exactly BL, but they certainly were unique as well.]]
Backdoor Business
Unique story, the general idea was interesting! I must say that in actuality I honestly didn't care about all the cases they investigated, so it was boring for me to read those parts. At some point, I went through those pages quickly. But, apart from that, which also depends on one's personal tastes, it's a well-done nice and fun reading. Especially the characters were charming. I really liked Chiaki and Natsuki! I liked them together. I actually always like sensei's characters: I like the way she draws them, their personalities and behaviours...they never fail to fascinate me! In this story, I really liked this type of couple, which was also kinda unique I'd say, and that's definitely what made me read till the end! Their romance seemed marginal, and it really wasn't the focus of the story, but it slowly evolved and the ending was really nice! For the characters and their relationship, I'd have given it 4 stars!

A Confession of his Own Guilty
Collection of 4 stories. Only the last one is missing. I liked the first and the third story. I didn't like the second one. 1) A Confession of his Own Guilty - High School // Trauma // The uke meets again the man who sexually assaulted him when he was a child // The man is now his teacher // Scar // Past Plays a Big Role // Guilt // Suicide Attempt // Love-Hate Relationship 2) Risky - Uni Student Uke x Older Brother's Friend // Seme's first time with a guy // The uke had an incestuous relationship with his brother 3) Kimi Sae Ireba... - Salarymen // Boss x Subordinate // Father-in-law x Son-in-law // Older Seme // Straight Seme // First time with a guy // Cohabitation // Both Widowers // Unexpressed Feeling // Adult Couple Sequel: Kimi Sae Ireba... Mayonaka no Oyatsu
Uncle (26 or 27) x Nephew (18 or 19, first-year uni student) // Age Gap: 8 years - Cute and funny story, nothing special though. The characters weren't much interesting in my opinion, but it was a nice quick reading.
Gakuen Heaven: Revolution
// Based on the Game, adapted also into the famous anime // Apart from some differences, let's say that this manga adaptation is more or less like the anime. However, while being categorized as shounen ai, this manga is not really BL. There's nothing really going on. It's bromance (at most BL subtext if we count the "I love him" said by Omi, the Queen's pet, referring to Kaoru, the Queen). I liked it, but I wasn't much interested, so I read it very quickly. I mean, it was not bad, but, if you want some actual shounen ai, I recommend the anime instead, where there's more about Keita and Kazuki's relationship and they really end up together. There's even a kiss at the end. Personally, I totally prefer the anime! Alternate Story: Gakuen Heaven (another manga adaptation by Higuri Yuu) Anime: gogoanime.nl / anime / heaven-academy-yq0z
