୧••୨ Miyoshi Ayato's first period piece...overall, it was not bad. I quite liked it! Although I feel it could have been executed a lot better! Especially the flow / development of the story was a bit weird for me. Compared to some other works of sensei, this was clearly a bit inferior... Btw, she said she really wanted to make Arima and Kuroki's sister Kikuko marry...thankfully that didn't happen! Well, Kuroki still tried to make them marry, to somehow have a link with him, but thankfully Arima refused. Otherwise that would have been so cruel, nothing good would have come out of it! All three would have been unhappy and miserable! In the end, Kuroki: "I came to a realization on my own that I wanted to take your hand...even if I had to throw my family and society away...I was thinking that all the while I..." - It's kinda sad that he needed an earthquake to finally be honest about what he really wanted and also take the decision to step down from head position, but well...all is well that ends well! #Taisho Era, Reunion of School Friends, 1923 Great Kantō Earthquake, Count / Head of a Noble House x Uni Medical Student

Yui was living in New York due to his parents' work, but now he's finally returning to Japan to attend High School. Since his parents were worried about him living alone, they talked about this with their boss, who is also japanese, and this one arranged for Yui to live with his four sons in Japan. So, Yui begins this new life-style together with Teacher Ousuke, High-school Students Senpai Kaisei and Hotaka and their cute little half-bro Sei-chan. > I like to read this kind of stories, but, to be completely honest, I think the family aspect and cute Sei-chan who gave such a lovely lively vibe were the only redeemable things here! Personally, I can't say that I liked the romance part! I mean, I knew very well who Yui would end up with (it was already revealed from the cover anyway), but still from the very beginning I loved Kaisei...he and Yui looked so good together! From their first encounter and then Kaisei even kissed him...their interaction and dynamic was totally my kind! I really loved how things were going between them, so it was disappointing that then it turned into a forced love triangle with Hotaka and it all went down to Yui having to choose one of the two...a choice that was very obvious anyway, so there was really nothing to choose! Even with the eldest brother it would have been a more interesting dynamic, but they went for the most obvious outcome and that was boring... Overall, it's not that I didn't like it, but I can't confidently say that I liked it either...for me it was a bit lacking and the uke was kinda insipid / wishy-washy, so for me it's a 2.5!
