Interview with a Murderer
Reporter Clark is introduced to serial killer Alex through psychiatrist/Clark's ex, Oliver. Alex murders people he's involved with in order to preserve their love for him and Clark is an arrogant sociopath that gets off on manipulating others. Alex's behavior becomes unpredictable as his love for Clark intensifies and Clark leans on his friend/accomplice, the bribe-loving Chief Inspector (my favorite character) as he realizes he's bitten off more than he could chew with Alex. Eventually a stranger and Oliver are killed and Clark is kidnapped by Alex. Clark kills Alex, burns all evidence, then kills himself (and the fish Oliver gave him long ago) while holding Oliver's finger and his interview notebook on Alex. Solid story and characters, great art and pacing. A psychological horror with subtle yaoi.
An Innocent Sin
Nayeon joins a secretive deviant club in order to see Jung Noah, a beautiful and mysterious watchman for the club. Noah has a twisted family life and has been sexually abused for a long time, but eventually his mutual love with Nayeon allows him to develop his first healthy sexual relationship. The plot is driven by multiple characters that have either worked for the Jung family or are actively trying to investigate the Jungs' murderous and abusive past, while Noah tries to disentangle himself from his family with the support of Nayeon and their other friends from the club. Great art and story, excellent smut value and charming MCs.
His House
Engineering student and orphan Lee Gangyoo is hired to be reclusive, wheelchair-bound Yoon Soohyun's fake boyfriend. This is a pretense for Soohyun and Lee Sanghoon to manipulate him into giving up his inheritance, as they all come from the same wealthy family but only Gangyoon is legitimate. As Gangyoon's positive personality and devoted love leaves an impression on Soohyun, Soohyun no longer desires revenge and just wants to have a happy relationship with Gangyoon. Gangyoon finds out the truth and leaves Soohyun because he is afraid Soohyun never loved him at all, but they reunite and Soohyun's feelings are made clear. Gangyoon claims his inheritance, Soohyun is removed from the family registry, and they travel to America together to seek treatment for Soohyun's legs. Not an original plot, but executed with interesting twists and strong characters. Very good read.
Don't forget that I like you
Jungmin, weak to handsome faces, slowly falls for Park Jiho who is well-rounded and more aware of Jungmin's feelings than he himself is. Jiho pursues him and they become a happy couple. A sweet, uncomplicated manhwa.
Fate Makes No Mistakes
Very unique. Plot heavy and scenes without the main couple are kind of annoying because the main couple is so good. More recent seasons feature less of the main couple and are more tragic for both couples which is a bummer. But when it’s good, it’s *great*. San is a really special character and 75% of the reason to read this series.
You’re My Favorite Toy
Arrogant college student Tatsuki gets stalked and blackmailed by Miyako, who he initially thinks is a cowardly fellow student but turns out to be a clever sociopath working at his dad's company. They're actually a perfect match and the pacing is excellent.
