Beautiful art, beautiful story. Tattoo artist Yuji falls instantly for the beautiful Michiru. But Michiru belongs to another, an artist who has kept the ethereal man his whole life as his muse and creative inspiration. It’s going to take something powerful to bring these two together. I loved this story. There is a psychological element that comes forth that was so essential for Michiru’s character development. Nobody who was raised as he was could be expected to be ‘normal’. But he is precious and adored by Yuji. The connection between this pair is intense yet sweet. Really, this is just a unique and wonderful story.

Incredible story. So dark and unpredictable, but sad and twisted too. Beautiful art, disturbing storytelling, this is one psychological delve into a character who may be pure at heart or something darker and more unpredictable. Best you read and find out for yourself.

Prickly tempered and difficult to get to know, Han Jae-hwa is a thriller writer who is attracts attention due to his delicate looks and excellent writings. But right now he has his own thriller in the form of a stalker who has targeted him. Enter the very much his type bodyguard, Seong Tae-kyung. Now the confident uke is really off balance emotionally as he finds himself the object of teasing humour and sexual interest from Taekyung. I liked this story. It was entertaining with lovely art and just enough potential bad guy stalkers to keep you guessing. It lacked intensity for me, but it’s still a good read.

This would have to go down as my favourite psychological and one of my favourite reads in a long time. Shevon and Llewellyn make for a beautifully damaged pair that are simply perfect for each other. It’s an obsessive, possessive and rather crazy love set in a pre WWII style world that is grim and harsh. Can something so twisted work? Well you gotta read to find out.

Bibi is a yandere with a reputation in school for being unpredictable, violent, even destructive. She is single minded, determined, and currently obsessed with being in love with the popular Peter. Amy is invisible to many. She is a sweet girl, accident prone, hates crowds and confined spaces, and she has a past that is darker than expected. When Bibi wants to be her friend she steps into the whirlwind of a beautiful psychopath (don’t call Bibi that to her face) and both girls will develop an unexpected friendship and more.

An extremely dark and disturbing story but it sweeps you in with the overwhelming obsession that is between these 2 twisted men. Which one is more insane? Crime boss’s son and rising gangster in his own right, Kanghyun Seo first noticed the beautiful son of a famous chef, Lee Dojun when he was in his sophomore year. When they got separated Kanghyun kept looking for his senpai even in his random sexual encounters. And when he found Dojun brutally murdering a man in the back alley streets, he couldn’t have been more delighted. The story then follows their budding relationship and you can’t help but find yourself wishing these highly emotionally disturbed men sone happiness together. Spoiler alert: It’s not too hard to realise pretty early that the author will not be giving our crazy pair the happiness you wish for. It’s much easier to go the tragic route and sure enough the things you anticipate from the characters you suspect unfolds. It’s promises kept and a warm reunion in a better place that bring out the heart hurting bittersweet tears for our dark heroes of the story. I would have given 5 stars if the author made things work for them, I have read stories where MCs like this make their own place in the world. But really, it was still a great story of perfectly imperfect men.

Story is completed This is a beautifully drawn story of an alpha detective and a beta doctor. Don’t be looking for wholesome love here, these men are much more than homebodies looking for the quiet life. The backstory of drugs and human Guinea pigs is interesting, the unexpected dynamic between Eric and Leon is hot, hot, hot, and the little twists in their relationship is very satisfying. Recommended reading!

CW: Rape, physical abuse, dark themes -Taichi Kanda: College engineering student, sporty, tough, likes women. -Urushima Nayoa: College engineering student, quiet, studious, high achiever, gloomy, megan-kun. What brings these 2 together isn’t a gentle tale of romance, but was based in lies, abuse and manipulation. Despite this, Nayoa’s gentle kindness and vulnerability drew Taichi closer to a man who could literally turn on him at any moment. How can their relationship possibly work?

CW: Non consent Some old style yaoi stories where none of the relationships were healthy and loving. They were let down by guys with weakness of character and master manipulation skills. From the first teen pair with the slutty friend who indiscriminately sleeps with anyone being raped and lied to by his “best friend”, to the pair of college students with the self centred uke with poor communication skills, to the final toxic yandere who crippled the one he wanted and killed his lovers sister, leaving the man he loved obsessively to be fully emotionally whipped and dependent upon the seme. To be honest none of the couples were likeable, but if you are in the mood for toxic relationships or a yandere, then these fast and easy reads may appeal.

Completed story This may have been 10 chapters but 2 were a repeat and they were all quite short so this was a quick read. It was a little too fast paced, and Sudo’s trauma was not really dark or weird enough to have triggered such a severe reaction to food. I really enjoyed the yandere elements but would have appreciated seeing that drawn out a little more to really give that element a chance to shine. It made for a good twist though. Overall, entertaining but not great.
