My Purrfect Boss!

Complete | Cuke Soap | 2000 released

Trigger Warning: Mentions rape (not by seme) This was so cute. Manager Kang was an anthropomorph; a secret he and others like him kept hidden from the humans they lived amongst. His newest team member was an eager yet clumsy guy named Sunwoo who kept making clumsy mistakes near (and on) his boss. One of those flustered his boss so much that his secret was revealed. I got lots of lols from Sunwoo as he tried to greet his boss in cat language and basically endeared himself to the older man. But he wasn’t just an airhead. He was kind and respectful and I loved how he placed his trust in Leo even when he wanted to just protect him from the scum from the past. All in all, this was a great story and it’s still available on Lezhin so I think I will grab my own copy.

K's secret

Complete | Morak | 2018 released

I loved this amazing story with the adorable and gentle Kim Doyoon and the protective and intense Director Lee Kangwoo. I really enjoyed the Director’s perverted side, his imagination alone is enough to make me blush. He really loved his little vampire and I enjoyed the fact that Doyoon didn’t just fall into his lap. I am only sad the series had to end. This is one I will be buying.

The Devil’s Temptation

Complete | Youn | 2000 released

The adorable little Hen and the beautiful Ivan. Their bickering rivalry to loving pair story was fun and sexy and entertaining. Surprisingly after the more than 100 pages of story it felt like there was more that needed to be told (eg reuniting with the Grandfather and family) but it was still a sweet ending with all the happy feels those two deserved.

Wild City

Complete | Koon | 2017 released

️Note: Not as tagged (not harem story or yaoi) This was a surprisingly enjoyable story. The comments don’t do it justice because it has a lot more depth to it than what you would expect from the beginning. The story starts out in the insular yet rather over the top Wild City, following main protagonist Jimmy (a werewolf accepted into mainstream society) who works at the majestic postal service. Yes..majestic. Just check that building out. The story has a rather surreal or fantasy feeling at first. There are over the top enemies, explosions, oddball directors of the postal service and an unusual emphasis on being the best delivery person and be promoted to elite. Tbh, the beginning felt a bit like a bad anime with lots of insane villains popping up all the time and potential romances for Jimmy crossing his path. But, then the story twisted in a big way and nothing and no one were what they seemed. It was like the epiphany moment in the Truman Show when you started to look at everything you know and realise you don’t know much at all. The latter part of the story is gory, violent, cruel and sad. And suddenly all those little things that bothered you made began to make sense. I liked the ending, and the final chapter was an epilogue style that offered a glimpse at life a few years down the track. That happy ending was needed after all the crap that happened through the story. As I mentioned, it was a surprisingly good story and I give it 4 stars, mostly because the beginning did drag on a bit and because some oddball categorised this as a harem and it was definitely not. More like a shounen-ai if anything and nothing remotely explicit or harem like occurring.

Hugo

Complete | Heugyeomso | 2000 released

I read this story only based on the blurb, so I had no idea it was to be a 3P relationship. So for me, when Jan broke up with Jamil (who he cared for greatly but needed to work on himself so he could love him) and then went in a free fall of sex with the guy he saw nearly kill Jamil, I was horrified. I thought Jan was a pathetic, low life cheating mofo. He spent all that time bonking his brains out with Pray and never even bothered to visit Jamil. Wth?! What a total dick! I have no idea why I kept reading, but I did. Then Jamil got out and we hear his backstory, and suddenly Jan loves him? Segue into my next brain fart moment as I clue in that this may be a 3P story. Ofc, I had bonded with Jamil so I started to feel a bit better about reading on, and I love a good 3P story. But even when these guys became a committed threesome, Jamil seemed to be left out too much. And I still was grinding my teeth that Jamil didn’t even rate a hospital visit… That’s the problem with a polygamy romance. Balancing the relationship. I have read a lot of great stories with multiple partners and while this one ticked the boxes for devotion to the MC, the way it began with the second partner had irreversibly left me viewing Jan as a weak, uncaring and selfish manslut who only thinks of himself and I am sad for Jamil who seems to be a lesser character after Pray nearly killed him. Such a shame, it could have been awesome, but instead it was ‘pretty good’ and left me feeling irked

Here U Are

Complete | DJun | 2000 released

There is a reason why this manhua rates so highly and that is simply because it’s beautiful. The love and friendship between the characters, not just the main couple but their friends and family, was so real and genuine that I didn’t want to leave their world. The power of loving and supporting those close to you regardless of their sexuality was dealt with so respectfully I was often moved to tears. In fact, I got a bit teary a few times in the loving moments of connection and support. My heartfelt thanks to the author. This is a manhua I will buy to read many times in the future.

The Beast Must Die

Complete | Lee hyeon sook | 2019 released

Trigger Warning: All the dark themes including rape, murder, animal cruelty A brilliant piece of work that transcends the average BL, mostly because the relationship between Lee Gi-Rin and Kang Mu will never be loving and sweet but it is incredibly intense and in its own way, devoted. A psychological dark romance style with much care and consideration into what would make a decent, regular guy stay with and care for a calculating and dangerous psychopath. I also loved that Lee Gi-Rin was able to dominate and hold his own at times. He was no weak pushover blind to his situation. That gave a pleasing power balance to the relationship that made you really want them to stay together. I really recommend this to those who like their hero a little dark and twisted.

A Guy Like You

Complete | Waje | 2016 released

I really enjoyed this story through all the twists and roadblocks to Kang Jinha and Go Siwon’s romance. When a pair are fated mates in a story, it seems a small price to pay to have to endure some angst for that lifetime of love with your perfect someone. At times for the MCs here it seemed they spent more time worrying about their rivals than each other. But by doing that the author took them from being shallow roadblocks on the pathway to true love to complex characters with feelings. Donghyun had his friendship with Siwon and the past they shared at school growing up together and Noh Seonyun was so well crafted that I went between hating him and feeling sorry for him and starting to like him and back to the beginnings hate for another full circuit again lol. I liked the story so much I bought my own copy on Lezhin and would happily recommend it. The only downside on this site were the few fan translated chapters where the dumbass translator figured we would be interested in their stupid comments all over the manhwa. Epic fail.

Biting the Tiger

Complete | Mindal Park | 2000 released

This was a magical story that had some very special characters. Yunho was a vocalist in a rock band. He was vibrant and charismatic, yet also very vulnerable and soft. I loved how he was emotionally transparent. He was guileless and sweet and simply adorable. The other MC was the mythical tiger Hanwool. This celestial being helped souls pass over when they had died and over the many centuries of his life he had no love for humans. When he met Yunho he was swept along in a new direction and I loved how he ended up being so loving and protective. There aren’t many stories where the MCs are so very much in love. They comforted each other, helped each other through troubles and supported their dreams. Simply put, they were very loving. The story moved me to tears several times but through it all there were friends and Yunho and Hanwool. I loved the story enough to buy my own copy on Lezhin.

Biting the tiger - Side Stories

Complete | Mindal park | 2019 released

The beautifully drawn side stories that finally focus more on the sexy aspect of Yunho and Hanwool’s relationship. The way these 2 love each other so wholeheartedly is what makes their story so special and it’s great to have the extra stories to see more of that.
