One shot - what I'm trying to figure out is if the 'husband' was THAT bad, how in the world did the relationship ever advance as far as a formal wedding without his insincerity being discovered/recognized before hand. Premise is a little lame, but to my mind, the brother was never announced as a proxy, so the vows witnessed and given were his. Correcting the paperwork is just a legal formality.
