Was good and cute, wanted more of the second couple from the side story, also found it weird the age gap a little but it's only like a year but still it made it so one was in college, other in highschool. Idk, felt weird even though is kinda fine.

Love or Hate(Yeongha)

Complete | Yeongha,Youngha,Bakdam | 2018 released

So reading this I was CONVINCED this certain character was going to end up with Haesoo - spoilers ahead Taku to me seemed the obvious choice. 1, not Haesoo's brother. Beyond that, he was a pretty emotionally complex character, was kind of a douche but was a douche in a way I actually thought was likeable and was done on purpose to add to his charm. He was deeply flawed but wasn't apologetic. He knew the things he needed to change but also recognized the things that were simply just a part of him. He didn't feel bad for. not being perfect, he was just himself. He was self aware and knew he didn't understand love but he knew he loved Haesoo and wanted to learn more about it. He was learning to understand it and I think he had a lot of development, way more than Choi. Choi was irrational and immature making decisions in the heat of the moment that had the potential to completely destroy his own career (and even risked Haesoo's). He would walk over Haesoo and treat him however he wanted, held double standards, wanted to be able to have an open relationship and date but expected Haesoo to remain loyal to him even when technically broken up. This also is ignoring the fact that he was Haesoo's brother. Joowon's personality and actions were kind of brushed off as him being emotionally immature and unable to understand how he was supposed to act with his intense love for Haesoo. He was blinded from rationality by passion. I had viewed this the whole time as without a doubt a negative trait. Taku was a more stable option than Haesoo. He knew what he wanted and was willing to stick with Haesoo for as long as he needed to work out his feelings an such. Choi was the more unpredictable option with the apeal to him being that Haesoo has repeatedly been (what in my opinion was manipulated) comforted by Choi in a cycle of hurting him but then being there for him afterwards. Haesoo struggled to move on from the past and kept coming back to Choi which without fail hurt him every time. I believe the author missed the oportunity to utilize a theme of moving on from the past and learning to recognize what you need in the present, and being able to accept new love. But instead we got an ending that felt sudden and random and frankly pointless. I think this could have been improved by allowing Haesoo to move on from Choi, and letting Choi see the wrongs in his actions and being able to finally move on, that would Haesoo to develop by learning to move on and accept Taku who had treated him a lot more delicately, and would have allowed for Taku to understand emotions and love on a much deeper level and grow emotionally. Not only that but the parents would be able to have room to grow and either realize that they want to remain devorced for reasons other than just because of the kids, or remarry and be happy again as well. Overall, taku getting together with Haesoo would have allowed for much more development in all the characters and have a very meaningful theme. Had this manwha followed this track, I think many of us would have been much more satisfied with the ending, and it would have felt more continuous and natural. There would be a message to walk away with, and you end it with something that feels like a stable ending. The reality is Haesoo can never know if things will work with Choi (as the author established) but the reasons are genuinely quite good reasons. Choi is unstable, they have to hide their relationship forever which will get tiring, if they get found out then not only is Choi known to be gay, but to also be dating his brother. Choi would likely struggle to find a job after, if his acting career is destroyed so are most other options (as the author brushed on a few times), and Haesoo's career would be ruined as well. Taku is already known to be bi, is already known to get involved with his models, and them being public would likely never effect their work for more than a month. If we ended the manwha with Taku ending up with Haesoo, the reader feels more stable in the ending and knows things will probably remain stable for them instead of this open ended feeling we got from this ending.
