It's not treated like rape, not sure why. The uke doesn't really seem to see it that way? It's not like Hidoku Shinaide or many of those problematic mangas that acknowledge the rape but continue to push the forgiveness narrative or completely ignore it as the story progresses. Renya's already hooked before the second time they have sex and he's in love with Azuma. Ngl, I'm conflicted about this. I might like this one. Wow). Really honestly just hated it, including the fact that they just keep sweeping all this rape under the rug. 2

Sumi, who was Hibari's brothers bestfriend, takes over as Hibari's guardian after his brother passes away. Sumi is so careful with him (,,•́ . •̀,,) Obviously, there are issues with Sumi being in a position of authority. But we must not forget that Hibari loved him well before his brother passed away. Also, Sumi properly waited until he was an adult. He had so much restraint, it was a pleasant surprise. I wish this brother we didn't even see much of hadn't passed away, though. How it pains me, how much his passing has scarred them. My single complaint is the sex scene cuts to the heavy stuff right away. I wish we got to see more of Sumi's tenderness. 5

Yousuke ignores advice from a stranger and ends up in debt from a bad real estate decision, and his fiancee leaves him for her ex. In this pitiful situation, he is taken in by Tao, who is in love with him. Yousuke certainly was too arrogant for me at the beginning but he turned himself around in a matter of days! I honestly really like him a lot. Up to his ears in debt, but never gave up. Put his pride aside to get help from someone much younger than him. Forged head first ahead into a completely new relationship, armed only with faith. And he sure had a damn lot, in Tao, that is! Tao was gentle and capable, I enjoyed his sleeping tiger side that comes out to play once in a while. I don't dislike either his sister or her girlfriend, but I definitely did not like the first impression (though Yousuke was also incredibly rude). I did like the sister more and more, though. And their backstory certainly helps endear them. My major complaint is length, for sure. This needs 10 chapters, at the very least. 5

Iori, the sweet country bumpkin and his new roommate in Tokyo, the unreadable company owner. It was toooo abrupt, their relationship. I also don't like the way Iori is drawn. Say what you will, that ain't no 19 year old. He looks 15!! 4

Boss and subordinate, the sub is an m but the boss is the bottom. The first one was so meh. Boring, no real chemistry, and the story was all over the place. 3.5 Tarou confesses to the barista at the café he frequents and it's mutual! But the barista is hiding something... Okay, just, first of all. Stories like these are why I got into yaoi in the first place!! The angst, the uncertainty, the passion, the intricate backstories. I'm here for it, yer hear?! 1: Jin, a chef who works at a yakuza dude's café, picks up the desolate Leo off the streets and gives him a place in his home. Leo is a host who ran away from home and gets mixed up in some awful shit. I love their dynamic, love stories where someone is picked up off the streets and given a second chance, in general. The way the man busted in to save him, dang. Totally rooting for them. 2: About Kaname, who was possibly forced to have sex and work in some kinda drug trafficking nightclub, and was saved by the boss of a rival club, who came to bust the place (he doesn't allow drug deals on his turf). The boss is so hooooot. And just, the angst and them finally getting together was SO yummmmyyy. ~Aahh. I'm full! 5*, easy peasy My only complaint is, they need to have fleshed these out. 10 chapters each would have been amazing. But even 5 each would have been great.

Masamoto is a socially hopeless 29 year old virgin (and movie fanatic) who starts receiving a lot of unsolicited but useful advice on getting a lover from Sakuya, a nosy and friendly high schooler preparing for college. It was good. Didn't enjoy the two counts of attempted rape, why are there so many attempts in a short ass manga, anyway??! But glad it didn't happen. Want to read more with his mom finding out. I did like Shouta, he is a unique sort of uke, knew what he wanted and how to go after it, yet a spoiled little rich kid too, yet smart as fuck and hardworking too. He started out too spoiled, it seemed. But the mangaka just couldn't capture his essence that first chapter, I believe. In any case, I liked him a lot!

Shizuya was brought up with lots of love from his single mom and son of family friend, Yuma. Shizuya's always loved Yuma and he finally shows him that it's not a childish folly. Between how much Yuma got hurt, permanently scarred because of Shizuya and the age gap and the fact that Yuma used to babysit him, I just can't get into it? It always feels off and wrong. Dub con in the beginning didn't help, either. 4.2
