Mujintou Ni Motte Iku Nara
1: Akagi never had friends except for Ichimori, the judo club member whom Akagi was in love with. When an injury caused by Akagi pushing him away means Ichimori cannot practice judo anymore, he demands Akagi to pay with his body. Akagi is elated, yet his guilt mounts and he ends up running away. However, a few years later, Ichimori finds him again. I think you do need a pushy approach with people like Akagi who are so insecure and unsure. He did what he had to do. Also really glad he didn't want to continue judo. Otherwise, it would have sucked. I wish Ichimori hadn't waited so long to push the issue. Also, the sex scenes could have been so hot if they had gotten the power play just right. But even as it is, not bad. 4.6 5: Akiho is used to being pushed around by the young master of the estate where his grandfather used to work as a gardner. As Hisakuni's secretary, Akiho's life is much the same. Until he gets injured because of Hisakuni, who offers to bath him and take care of him until he heals! Loved the switch. Unexpected and fun. But again doesn't quite deliver. 4.5
The Devil’s Temptation
So engaging and interesting. Not even sure who I want him to end up with. The uke is likable and headstrong. Personal aphrodisiacs are my jam. Both semes are dicks. But these dicks, I don't mind reading about. EDIT: okay! Seriously! What was I thinking?!!? Ivan, all the fucking way!!! Edit: Every sucker doesn't get their come uppance but everyone who deserves to be happy, are! I mean, I'll definitely take it Edit: Re-reading it knowing what I now know, it's kind of heartbreaking to see Noah sometimes. He's so strong, though. He endured so much, shit, to still come out the other end standing. I'm so proud of him. Alessandro too, to be fair. Definitely. But poor baby Noah, damn.
Omae no Tame ni Houritsu Kaetakara, Ore to Kekkon Shitekure
Sougo's childhood bestfriend (Shiro) became the PM and changed the law so he could marry him, as promised years and years ago. Smutty and light on the surface but such a genuine and serious love. SSM, ftw! Edit: I like them a lot. I also love the inherent power balance of the CMNM theme they've carried throughout the chapters. Very hot. Edit: I still love it and love them but annoying third party characters like that secretary make my blood boil. Calling him a slut and a whore and telling him to know his place. Bitch, you can fuck right off with that energy.
Boku no Omega yo Samenaide
He was barely an omega, but when he met the right alpha, his "omeganess" increased and it allowed him to lead a healthier, happier life as what he is truly meant to be
A Painter Behind the Curtain
Ian was sold off by his wretched family to work as a "painter behind the curtain" for the talentless heir of a rich line of artists. His salvation from the slavery and abuse comes in the form of the scandalous and scandalously rich Raymond, an upstart merchant with a secret agenda. It's length certainly lends it the advantage of depth and complexity. I enjoyed the gradual progression of their relationship and the details regarding the political climate. And the side characters like Nick, Henry and Martha certainly helped things with how charismatic and easy to love they were. And I am truly relieved Ray could give everything up, including his thirst for revenge, in exchange for loving Ian for the rest of his life. Don't think he could have been this likable otherwise. Ian is obviously a gem of a person, to not be jaded and evil after all the shot he's been put through. Overall, they're good together and the story is interesting and well done. But. I would also like to read more about the revolution and the changes occurring in society. 4.8
Kakumei no α
An aristocrat alpha born into an era of alpha supremacy and class warfare decides he will not be lead around by societal expectations or "fate" and chooses to make his own destiny. First of all, this is bloody brilliant! Secondly, I need resolution, dammit! I love that Maurice was able to be an ally, even brought up as he was. That he fought his instincts so hard, and so many times, just so that he could choose to keep loving Simon. I love Simon, as a top. Love that he's so gentle and the fact that he's a beta is so great. Claude, though, mjght be my absolute favourite. He's so brave and so intelligent and such a forward thinker, so ahead of his time. I loved the whole thing, really. 5 The side story was about a high ranking military official (Major Miller) who was demoted for refusing to march his men into a hopeless situation. His second in command notices his popularity dropping in the ranks due to his resultant sour mood, and attempts to rectify the situation. A delicious little morsel to accompany an already great series. 4.6
Trick of Eros
Even Thorki is tolerable like this. 4.5
The Affairs of the Other World Depend on the Corporate Slave
Absolutely fascinating. Can't say I care for the saint, at all, though. Aresh was a bit stuck in his ways, not really understanding the lives of the common people. But he does character development so well. Sei could use some better metric for sense of self, but I do love him. I actually love this character. He's awesome. 5
Limited Run
Really good! And especially given the evolution the plot went through, based on author's notes. While I do think that Jae-Hyeok really went about things entirely the wrong way, even though Yeon-oh was wrong to hide the evidence that would ultimately lead to uncovering Jae-Hyeok's mom's murderers, all in all, I think both are more than redeemable. And I especially liked that Yeon-oh actually made him work for forgiveness. And I liked that he is indeed forgivable unlike some arsehole semes in most similar yaoi. And side note on the dad: it's not right, but his death is such a relief because it was the only way for their little family to finally be free of that leech. And I couldn't bring myself to care about the murder of that rapist debt collector piece of shit. I'm sorry, but after ruining countless hundreds of lives, he had it coming. I really did enjoy it overall, despite it being a bit draggy towards the end. 4.8/5
