No idea why this is rated so low. The FL is not at all weak, if anything I think she is too hard on herself. She's dealing with grief, betrayal from every corner and trying to live in an incredibly patriarchal society...This woman is fighting for her life and heritage. I think she's an intelligent force of will, with gorgeous coloured hair

We were getting such good scanlations and now it's so hard to interpret the meaning of the text I went on a journey and all I want is Philomel to be happy, healthy and loved. Please webcomic god bless us with this wish

Our FL has been abused, beaten, discriminated against, enslaved, belittled every single day and people wonder why she has such a low opinion of herself?! It takes TIME to build yourself up and I think her character progression is incredibly realistic. She isn't weak, she's immensely strong and resilient even going through a sh!t of trauma. And she isn't mourning her old fiance. She's been beaten and told by everyone (and him when he was alive) how grateful she should be for being chosen for him. And then was assaulted by him. Do you know how messed up and huge that is to process??! And our ML is dealing with the guilt that quite a lot of service personnel deal with. Again it feels sadly very realistic. But what I'm really grateful for and excited to see progressing is the examination of soldiers following their orders even if they don't want to. And leaders that remain unfazed by these sacrifices, because they order someone else to do the 'dirty work'. That's hard-core. The low rating to me doesn't make sense. I think folks are being hasty and mean to be honest...

So, I initially dropped this because it felt like it was starting from chapter 3. But I restarted it because the art is really cute and the ML is incredibly handsome haha. His melanin has been turned down, but there is some there so I'm counting it as a minor win (). The translation seems good to me, but I started re-reading it from chapter 13. I think our FL is adorable and has been through a tonne. I don't think the blame she feels is at all her fault. Instead the blame should be towards her butt head of a father and the evil incarnate that is her step-mum. She did her best in a house where everything was trying to kill her. Honey, please hate your father more. I beg of you

Look you don't have to love this, but the rating is soooooo undeserved. The art is banging, the ML is hot & broody and our FL is behaving like a REAL PERSON! For once she isn't some genius or magician that knows everything instinctively- she's a regular person dumped into a battle for the throne and her survival. That's a lot to deal with lol. I think she's cute, funny and realistic. If this isn't your bag, then move on but why rate it sooo unnecessarily low?? Just doesn't make sense
