『Fangtasia』's manga / #psychological(186)

I never would have thought I'd pick a manga revolving around dogs or animals in general that has a tragedy tag but here I am. It's such a meaningful story and deeply connected with the original story - Ayu no Monogatari, that you just have to read it. Even more so if you were following the series.

This is one of the oneshots in the Deeps (Anthology). Wow, what a twist!! He basically did what was done to him. Nocturnal Flight I like. It's dark, gritty, and does not take you to a place of healing. However, it also does not make any pretense at being loving and healing. I haven’t had read anything so consciously messed up in such a long while. Like this isn’t passing off rape as sex or glamorizing it in any way; it’s out right showing how predatory behavior takes place, and how violence is perpetuated, without sugar coating it, and how cycles of violence are not only put into motion but are re-enforced as well. Recently, I have also come to be more invested in the question of how such instances can be/should be shown.

The sole thing that gets him through is his obsession with the building’s manager, Kwon Cheong-rim(•seme): a cruel and calculating figure seemingly only interested in the preservation of his own wealth and power. So when the enigmatic pretty boy begins to hint at a sort of faint interest in Sungkyung, the latter's obsession begins to grow as a single question echoes ceaselessly throughout his mind: “Why...?” uke's obsession started to grow even more by writing his every words and action.

This is the 3rd Story of Lezhin's ''Tied to You'' anthology champaign, which consist of 8 short stories.

I started reading this after watching the anime and for its type, I think its awesome and I'm so glad I found it. It gives a ''Death Note'' thriller vibe and I love it. The ML is the typical dad. A VERY typical dad~ He realize that his daughter is a domestic violence victim by her boyfriend who happened to be in yakuza. He overheard him saying he wanted to kill her daughter so he took the first step-killing him first! Interesting. If you like mystery, murder and yakuza stories, its a must read.

There's an anime adaptation too.
